My aunty took me to the cinema in 1978 to see this movie. I was 9. I watch it evert time it comes on the movie channel. I’m now 54. My wife thinks I’m weird. Don’t care.

It's shockingly frightening how bloody fast time flies. My advice : do not bloody waste it. This is it. No re go's. There really is nothing worse than regret

I was 12 years old in 1978. I saw the movie in Rex theatre in Bengaluru in India. With the arrival of shopping malls and Multiplex to India, Rex and other such similar theatres have all closed down in Bengaluru. Only pleasant memories remain.

I was 10 years old when Grease came out. It was the first film that I watched twice at the cinema and has remained my favourite film of all time. Love the soundtrack to it too! ❤
I didn't realise that John Travolta's sister Ellen Travolta was in Grease. How cool is that! You know I think baldness suits him. He rocks that style bless.him. I still think the film Phenomenon which Travolta was in was his best movie. He played the part with such flair and such heart, compared to Grease! Grease was really good, and I still love it, it's one of his best movies, but Phenominon was a better performance in my opinion. RIP to the cast members of Grease who have passed on. Well done to the rest of the cast who are.still going strong.

I remember when grease is the word hopelessly devoted to you and your the one that i want would play on the radio in the 70's while the movie was on its last week playing at the drive in. These were the main songs of movie. Not to mention tell me more that John and Olivia did...oh this song also came on the radio . But you heard the other songs mostly..and still today . At the time Grease came out in the theaters in 1978, I was 9 years old and being raised in an abusive, dysfunctional household. As a result, I turned towards watching LOTS of TV and went to the movies as a way of providing myself with escape and comfort from my misery. Back then I was going to the movies with my then best friend. We were a couple of fanatics about the movies. We talked, read, ate, drank, and slept the movies. And we went to the movies together once a week, every week for a lot of years from the 1970s-1980s. We saw literally hundreds upon hundreds of movies over the years. We tried to see every new movie that came out regardless of plot, genre (he loved horror films, I preferred comedy), critics reviews, who was starring in it, etc. So there was no particular reason we went to see Grease. It just happened to be a new movie that was just released. As much as I loved the moviegoing experience in itself, as an abused, neglected child, there were a small handful of movies that stood out and managed to hit me in the very right places at the very right time. Grease was one of those movies. Right from my very first viewing, it quickly became one of my all time favorite movies and remains that to this day. In the following years, I purchased the soundtrack album, the fotonovel, and whenever Grease popped up on tv, I'd drop everything to watch it. Today I own the movie on DVD. So, I say to the creators and the cast and crew of Grease, from the bottom of the heart of an abused boy, thank you all so very, very much.
This is just one the others include, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, The King and I, The Sound of Music, State Fair, The Wizard of Oz there are so many I wish they made more what great memories.

They were curious about my reaction and were surprised when I said that there was one thing that was incorrect. I told them that all of the girls wearing jeans with zippers in the front were not authentic. Denim material was not popular for girls at the time, though not unheard of. The zippers would have been on the side or in the back. They said that I was correct and wanted to know how I knew that. I said that as a preschooler, I remembered that my Mom wouldn't let me wear zippers in the front.
Movie theater up the road from me when I was 8 in 1978 held a double feature with Grease and Saturday Night Fever. Do they even have double features anymore?
I remember when I went to see grease with my grandma and it was awesome and then I went to the movie theater with my mom to see grease and saturday night fever and it was awesome that's the double feature of john Travolta for me and I was so excited for the memories of the 70s 😊

Look closely and their bikes are all Honda 350, 360, 125, might even been a 450 in the mix but his bike was a Yamaha sx650 at the end when he was thought to have crashed. I had a VHS tape of it years ago. I would watch it a lot until I couldn't anymore.

Despite their obvious ages, they made it all work. They made it totally believable, and we loved all the characters.
In no shape or form was it meant to be realistic or believable. Choreographed spontaneous dance numbers and flying cars was kind of a hint

@@darnitthelma4247 fixed the misspellings. However it is Michelle Pfeiffer and that alone was awesome back then. I liked the movie for the songs and the bikes they rode.
@@csumme7 I was only teasing…yep grease 2 when I was a kid I loved! Michelle was awesome and the guy was hot! however as an adult I am not sure i would like it as much….may have to watch again
@@darnitthelma4247 wanna be a cool cool, cool, cool rider...a cool cool, cool, cool rider...yeah the songs were a lot of fun. Look closely and their bikes are all Honda 350, 360, 125, might even been a 450 in the mix but his bike was a Yamaha sx650 at the end when he was thought to have crashed. I had a VHS tape of it years ago. I would watch it a lot until I couldn't anymore.
