Krishna (Krishna Ghattamaneni) Popularly Known as Superstar Krishna is an Indian film actor, director and producer known for his works in Telugu Cinema. His career began with minor roles in films such as Padandi Mundhuku, Kulagothralu and Paruvu Prathishta. He was then cast in Tene Manasulu as one of the male leads.He is well known with Agniparvatham, Palnati Simham, Vajrayudham, Simhasanam, Kurukshethram, Ram Robert Rahim, Pacchani Kapuram, Number 1 and Amma Dongaa movies
Kanchana (Vasundhara Devi) is a noted actress of the 1960s and 1970s. She acted in all four South Indian languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. She has also acted in Hindi films as well

It's a excellent movie with suspence and thriller. Krishna garu performance marvelous. Fights scenes are very natural . Songs are melodious nice. Beautiful colour and print is new watchable. It's looks fresh as if released now after released 46years.

I'm 60. ఈ మూవీ లో 2nd half lo కాంచన ఇంట్లో ఫస్ట్ ఫ్లోర్ లో కృష్ణ కి ముసుగు మనిషితో ఒక fight ఉంటుంది. అలాంటి screen play, అటువంటి యాక్షన్ నేనింటవరకి చూడలేదు. హాట్స్ ఆఫ్ to superstar. ఇందులో krishnagari action చూసి నా 10 వ ఏట నే ఆయనకు ఫ్యాన్ అయ్యాను.
ఇది ఫస్ట్ రెలీజ్ లో ఫ్లాప్ అయ్యింది. 2nd release lo super duper hit.

Emi cinema devuda. Since 1990 have seen this movie many times. What a story and screenplay and music. First time ayithe goosebump, no one predicts he is the villain. This movie tells why Krishna is superstar, daring, dashing and first Jamesbond opted actor. He did both directive and cowboy movies during those days. We are all expecting the same movie from Mahesh too. But he is not experimenting with these type of movies, because of the commercial and budget. Those days suitable for multi starter too.
This movie would be nice if re made with his son.
The fight scene between Krishna and the killer is superb...excellent background music and fight looks very natural...I would say one of the best fight scene in Telugu movies without any graphics or hype. That's why Krishna became so popular in action and crime thriller movies...

Tamil version was a smash hit. As far as Telugu version is concerned, the fact that it was a full length colour film, was not properly publicised. At that time, colour films were rare in Telugu. Further, all the songs of this film were very good. But, the promoters failed to highlight this aspect among the audience . Lastly, the title Avey kallu, though apt as per the story, could not rouse the curiosity in the viewers. By the time, thse vital aspects were noticed by the cine-goers, the film was terminated in most centres. However, it recovered costs and made profits only in 2nd and subsequent runs. It clearly shows how important is timely and proper publicity for the success of any film. But, in the next year(1968), almost all the films starring super star made profits barring 2 or 3.Thus, super star could establish himself firmly in Tollywood as a popular hero.
I have seen this movie in 1969 when I was in 4 class since I have more than 100 times this is a super movie no comparison till today

From 1960 to 1969,47 full length colour films were released in Tamil.The figure for Telugu is only 7.
I saw this movie twice in my childhood and recently once; enjoying it once again with the same excitement due to its tempo and taking. The fights between Krishna and the avenger are most natural and thrilling. I think that due to the risk involved without dupe, these days the actors are blissfully shielded by graphics during fights. Kudos, Mr Sivarama Krishna Ghattamaneni for the risk you have taken in this film. As far as I remember, I didn't see such good stunts prior to or post this film barring your few old movies.
