- I think TAP Plastics is one of my favorite stores in the bay area. they are really polite and easy to work with, the prices dont seem too high, and they will easily give a discount on junk from the scrap bin. i'll probably start using their online store if i need plastic stuff for projects.
The possible projects are adding up in my mind.

The plastic store is really nice. I just did a video on getting my lathe and milling machine back in action and machining plastic can be a lot of fun. Hard to find a store like that here in NW Ohio. I know they have that online but it's cool to go into the store and actually check it out.

Hey Spencer, I have an old Craftsman 109 6x12 from about 1955 and a newer style Sherline mill. They are both small but are great for hobbyist.
$.30 a sheet? Not bad? That's a steal! I wish I had a tap plastics near me. most of the projects i make with plastic sheet material is on the smaller side to begin with. full sheets down at the local home depot add up quuuuick.
yeah i've never been able to go to TAP without buying at least one thing from the scrap bin. especially when they have special colored plastics in there like clear neon orange and whatnot.
That black box & 5:40 would make an excellent battery/controller container! ?!? What you think ?!?!?! 😃☇
yeah maybe. my batteries are too big for that though. haha
could have them make it for you tho...even with slots for charge controllers and such

That's exactly where I'm gonna be going soon to get plastic material to make new walls for my ebike's battery pack... BTW, too bad you left the neighborhood before trying out my 2WD ebike. You'da loved the acceleration...
Yep, TAP Plastics is an awesome store. When I was in high school, you used to be able to go out back and get the cutoffs out of the garbage bin. I guess we ruined it for everybody by demonstrating there was a demand for little 4"x12" scraps to enclose random projects.

well i only do one doctor visit a year now. so i think i'll use that as a good excuse to come visit the bay for a week or two every June. other than that and the cost of the medication, it doesnt change all that much.
We have 1 in Stockton, they're great. I'll be using them for my battery enclosure.
I would love to see you do something cool with your Nissan Leaf batteries...
looks exactly like the local TAP plastics bellevue store. i use them frequently for supplies to use on the laser cutter in the local makerspace.
We have Tap where I live. Fast way to go broke but omg the projects!
Also check out smooth-on, they have a ton of mold making and casting products.

10 bucks for a 440 grams of plasteline - isn`t that expensive? Here in Bulgaria they sell it at toy stores for half the price.

Smooth-on makes some nice casting materials too.

lol! thats in the new minecraft. looks like youve been stuck on 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 a bit too long :P
hah yeah the modpacks are sadly still stuck on old versions. annoys me to no end sometimes, cause we miss all the performance improvements of the newer versions.
