Thanks, Chris! Yeah, really really impressed with these tires too :-) It’s almost too much traction, which disables oversteer and produces understeer, he he
Excellent video Mikael. I've never seen Rocket tyres before but they look really nice. The white lettering is a great touch. You always seem to make my shopping list get longer lol : ))
Thanks! Yeah, got the tip from RC Volution on Instagram. He has a lot of cool upgraded DTs, DFs and TTs. And yes, I like everything with these tires. The lettering, the looks, the tread, the compound. So far they just seem perfect :-) Thanks for watching my friend. And I think you probably have enough tires and RCs for now ;-) I keep telling myself that, but my shopping list seems to get longer too every week ... lol
Ha ha ha. Yes I do have a lot. But after 2 years of searching I have found and bought the last RC on my wish list. I am waiting for it to be delivered, and, yes it's a Tamiya!. So that's it. No more for me. My money will now only be spent on parts ; ))

Thanks a lot, S43! Yeah, a bit more expensive but definitely more durable and suitable for the on road runs. Thanks a lot for the sub and support, bro.
Cracking video, Mikael - you made this tyre comparison so interesting and watchable. Those tyres are a must for me - my wife is called Louise!!! Thumbs up and have a lovely weekend mate :-)
He he, yeah, over 7 minutes of testing two sets of tires. Maybe I went too far :-) Wow, you definitly need some Louise tires then! Or maybe build an RC for her with Louise tires :-)
Haha - thanks Mikael - you don't know my wife - she tried to drive one of my RCs once, and I was traumatised! Looked like the driver was deliberately trying to smash-up my car! So I'll stick to putting Louise on my car and driving it myself - haha :D
Yeah, to be honest, the Tamiya Astral Wheels are one of the ugliest wheels around in my opinion ... Of the standard 1990s buggy wheels that Tamiya still uses I prefer the Star Dish (original from the Top Force etc). But could be cool with a return of the 1980s style wheels too (Boomerang, Grasshopper etc).
Yeah, seems to be great value for the money. Impressed by the grip. There’s more asphalt than off road oppurtunities where I live so it’s a good buy for me :-)

Do you have any experience with the dt-03 aqroshot tires? These look like nice street pattern and should fit the standard wheels quite well. Greetings from Germany. Love your content!
Thank you, Marcus! I got the Aqroshot tires too. Looks great and very Tamiya'ish (they used the same tires on a number of other cars as well) but extremely hard rubber compared to the Louise.
Hey dude. Some good info there, yet again. Have you tried running the soft "silver spot" four ribbed front tyres, they reduce understeer a fair bit. I'm going to try them with the soft C compound dual block rears and the normal K compound, to see how it balances.
Thanks a lot! No I’m afraid I haven’t even heard of those tires but if they reduce understeer they sound great. The DT-03 does have quite a but understeer on tarmac now, when the rear tires actually have great traction. I have a lot of Dual Block tires, but so far I haven’t really found suitable surfaces for them. I guess one needs a good buggy race track for them :-)
Hey mate, what is your long term experience with these tire? How many battery packs do you get out of these? I race some stock tamiya pin spikes yesterday, and those were gone after 4 packs 😅
Hello Nordic! Great channel Michael. Can you already say something of the sustainability of the e rocket design. Do they last or are they quickly used?
😊👍nice! the road tires looked awesome! do they make front ones? I can see now you look like you have understeer maybe try softening up the front springs and or stiffening up the rear ones and you will get better fast speed steering.
Yeah, these are actually the rear ones for a 4WD set. Available with both wheels or not. Think I need a 4WD set too, and a similar Monster or Stadium truck set. There’s more asphalt than dirt where I live :-) Ohh, yeah, do you think it will work? Tried different shock set ups with my DT-02 and the understeer didn’t seem to want to go away. But yeah, with rear traction, grip and speed, one will truely experience the understeer of the DTs :-) But Thanks for the tip, will try it out!
HI it should that's how you tune even a real car... you can soften the front springs see how that works and then leave them like that and then try making the rear springs stiffer and see how it then goes... one last thing is to put a more grippy tire up front and change camber but on the tamiya I dont think you can.
Add as much weight at the very front end as possible. I opened up my chassis and stick approximately 100gr of graded tire weights in the inner gaps of the nose but now the front is as good as can get with the original shocks.
What an odd name for a tyre but they look great. Like you say those Carson ones aren't all that good or hard wearing really but the wheel design does look good on the Holiday Buggy. Anyway, a very useful test. Will look these up for my next DT-02 build. Thanks Mikael :-)
Yeah, I like the looks of the Carsons too. But I like the looks of the Louise E-Rockets too, especially on modern-looking DTs like the Sand Viper or the Neo Fighter. Guess they will look good on some of the retros too, like the Street/Sand Rover. Hope you will have your hobby room up and running again with new collections of tires and Tamiyas. @@NordicRC that's what I'm wondering, and that tells me that maybe they both buy the tire from a single source and get them stickered with their names on the tires. So that would tell me that there could be a cheeper way to get tires if we buy the tires directly from the manufacturer.
Yeah, there could be a company behind all them tires. Although I would expect that the Louise brand is more or less owned by them then, where as Duratrax was pretty known for rebranding a lot of items.
@@NordicRC Maybe try using the stock tyres on the rear that way when the back slips out you at least have some control. Use the grippy tyres on front at least they can help the car getting out of corners with grip to add.

The Louise tires are cheap yes, but the Carsons are even cheaper. But I think in the long run, regarding tread wear on asphalt, the Louise tires will turn out to be a lot cheaper :-)
At least you get some asphalt slicks out of it, haha
😅
Oh man... A car rolled yesterday over my DT-03. Now I need a new Kit.
Uhh not good 😕At least the DT-03 kits are very affordable. Hope you didn’t out too many optional expensive stuff in it.
@@NordicRC well, the complete front is broken. My electronics are fine. But a repair would be senseless, because the spare parts would cost me 50 €.
So, what did I learn?
DON'T DRIVE ON A PARKING LOT.
LOL
Good that your electronics are good. And yes, with these cheaper kits it's always a good deal just to buy a whole new kit if more than a couple of parts broken. At Tamico you can get a whole new kit for 70€.
what servo you running?
It’s just a cheap standard one on this one. A Sana’a.
@@NordicRC ok cool thanks
Those look just like the Duratrax Bandito tires I'm running on my DT-03!
Hello Colter. Yeah, I've seen a lot of tires from Duratrax that look like the Louise. Perhaps Duratrax rebranded these in the States?
@@NordicRC that's what I'm wondering, and that tells me that maybe they both buy the tire from a single source and get them stickered with their names on the tires. So that would tell me that there could be a cheeper way to get tires if we buy the tires directly from the manufacturer.
Yeah, there could be a company behind all them tires. Although I would expect that the Louise brand is more or less owned by them then, where as Duratrax was pretty known for rebranding a lot of items.
@@NordicRC I wouldn't be surprised if that we're the case either, I love your videos, please keep making them and we'll chat more in the future!
The duratrax ones cost 2x the price of the louise ones and they look exactly the same. Even the rims.
Where to get the Louise E-Rocket 1/10 Buggy Rear Tires + foam inserts (#L-T3188SI) ? can you share the info on ebay ?
Hi Star Chang! Just copy-paste the description into the eBay search and you will get loads of options from different sellers :-)
@@markcuckerberg7492 Difficult to get this in Asia
Beautiful little buggy fantastic video really enjoyed it brother 😁😊😁
Thanks a lot for the good feedback, bro!
Nordic RC Visions , your welcome my friend well done, keep it going brother 😊😁😊
Thanks again, bro! You too!
From donuts to understeer.
Ha ha, yeah 😅
@@NordicRC Maybe try using the stock tyres on the rear that way when the back slips out you at least have some control. Use the grippy tyres on front at least they can help the car getting out of corners with grip to add.
Neo Kgatla Ahh, yeah, the stock ones are good all round tires but the spikes wear out very quickly on tarmac ... so I like to save those for grass and dirt
Is it 2wd or 4wd?
It’s a 2WD. One of the cheapest Tamiyas around. Love it 🙂
Hey Dude, to you have a FB account we could converse over?
I have an FB Nordic RC Visions page but I seldom use my own account. But I regularly check the page.
