I’m watching this on OWN right now. As a black woman myself, I’m a bit disturbed at Mrs. Jackson at the table. I’ve experienced hurt from other black people, in particular black women that hurt just as bad or worse than being confronted by a racist. I wish black people would stop. I’ve been bullied, cast aspersions upon mostly by black women. They hurt people too and act like it’s unforgivable when another race does it 🙄 As rude and disrespectful that black people can be to one another, I disagree with her sentiment. Just look at the black on black killings compared to any other killing and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I’m sorry, I don’t agree with this woman on the panel. Black people hurt each other, bully each other and undermine others and it hurts just as much or worse than racism hurt because you don’t expect it from people that look like you. Black people have turned into monsters and they love to blame racism for just about anything instead of looking into how they treat people and others.

Dr. Phil, When you use Karen as a slang term to mean "bad" or "vile" you slowly perpetuate feelings of anger and hate being directed at people named Karen. A name is very important to your identity. It is one of the first things your parents give you. Endorphins are released in a person’s brain when they hear their name spoken. It is like your own personal song that makes your brain happy. I understand this all started as a joke and in the beginning it was a little funny, but we are going on years of the world telling us, Karens are vile. Many Karens have legally changed their name because of the backlash it is causing. Using it or not is up to you but just know it is causing harm.

Being part “Native” is a common excuse that is unlikely to be true. Most White Americans always say this without any tribal affiliation proof or genetic tests to back up their claims.
She had to literally SAY she was “part Indigenous” they couldn’t tell. Do you know colorism affects more than just black people? The condescension and stereotyping is not helping. Can systematic racism be acknowledged and can we acknowledge that we are benefitted by it without belittling the idea that we may not feel like bigots? Not fighting for social change makes you complicit but it does not make you a racist. Also acknowledging that the aggressive blanket terms used for “white people” is also racism. It just perpetuates more harsh feelings and isn’t delivering lessons. Dr Phil is trash.
I completely understand why minorities are absolutely exhausted with white people regarding their racism, however there needs to be a much more constructive way to get them to engage in good faith on this topic, which I fully acknowledge is extremely hard having grown up around many bigoted white people.

@@HighonBoots Personally, I believe that the U.S. needs a truth and reconciliation commission about race, very similar, if not identical, to what Nazi Germany has done post WW2. There is a tremendous amount of national ignorance in the entire population about what this country, entirely controlled by wealthy white men, did for hundreds of years to African and Native American people mostly, for that matter the entire minority population in this country along with many poor whites. People get angry when the U.S. is labeled a white supremacist nation, I would add with strong class dimensions, however objectively there are many historical facts that support exactly this, but you will not learn these things unless you go to college, or read many books that should be a standard part of the American educational system. Imho, it's not controversial to say that this country is still a toddler trying to become a teenager while still fighting childhood battles. Basically one cannot learn from the past if you have absolutely no idea what the past consists of.

Seeing race is racist. Seeing people by the color of their skin is racist. That's the same as judging people by the color of their skin and not by their character. And when you see people by their race you will never see them by who they are or what kind of a person they are. We are all one race the human race. We just look different. And I’ve seen quite a few of those videos where they’re calling Sonya Karen and filming the so called “Karen” and laughing . But it was perfectly clear the woman had mental health issues.
It is true that there’s a gap when looking at economics across race, and ensuring that gap equalizes out should be a priority because everyone should have an opportunity to be successful. Year over year black households wealth increases while white households decrease, so while that’s positive, the gap is large and we will need to make further changes or wait a long time to see more equality among races. With that being said, there’s a large population of high income or high-end of the medium class, white households that affect that and are untouchable on the economic scene, where they aren’t affected by any decreases in wealth, have retirements, assets and inheritance to pass down. This group is likely not who gets targeted by the women on this show or in life. That group, remains out of the conversation unless their corporation requires them to be, but do not show up on Dr. Phil to discuss. There may be a group of white people more affected by the decrease of their own assets, who are not part of that high economic group, and because they are white they should not be the enemy that this type of conversation seems to cast them as. They may seem defensive because their success hasn’t been handed to them, and feel they have had to work equally hard as other races to achieve their success. I feel it is more helpful to look at low income / poverty as a whole, and try to see if any societal, locational, or political happenings are the cause and work to find solutions to them, while recognizing this group may include a larger percent of minorities. I don’t believe excluding white low-income individuals from the group of people who deserve help or opportunity is helpful, and could actually contribute to a rise in hate groups, mental health issues that cause violence, and any racial division. Forcing women who are white, and may actually be a lower class economically, to recognize their privilege as a “Karen”, isn’t the solution I feel is needed.
I think people need to remember that SYSTEMS are what need to be dismantled, not individual people. It's unfair to just go around attacking people on an individual level. Attack White Supremacy and the hegemony that reinforces it? Absolutely! Attack (white or any other race/ethnicity) people that have not personally harmed you, just because they are white? No! I think videos and arguments like this distract from the actual work that needs to be accomplished, and serve to further alienate and divide people. Regardless of race or gender, everyone can do something to assist in dismantling White Supremacy and macro-level racism. We shouldn't just get caught up on the individual micro-level. There are good and bad characters in every race. So, yeah, the video kind of missed the mark.
It's interesting that Raio and Jackson focus only on white women and not white men. In the past, Jackson has explained that focus by saying, "We don't want to get killed," which I'm not sure I believe. Sure, I imagine that a man is more likely to punch one of these two than a woman would be, but I think that's not the primary motivation behind this focus.I suspect the truth is they know that men are socially encouraged to question and to assert and to defy, which doesn't blend well with the Race2Dinner model. It's hard to harangue people who simply won't accept they are guilty of any sin, right? Women, however, are expected to empathize and to accommodate, which is fertile ground for Rao and Jackson't shtick. If women are getting something out of Race2Dinner, fine. However, if they are attending out of some need to expiate their ancestral guilt, I think they could find better uses for that $5K. Like, say, supporting a politician who will vote on the side of black people.
What if the role was reversed, how would the discussion progress. Feelings on both sides are important so is consideration of interest. Proclaiming that trust is something that is based on anticipation of receipt, "I expect nothing from White Women because "They" have not "done anything for me" shows an expectancy of entitlement. Stop claiming all Whites are racist and being called a Karen is not racist. Stop being a victim and projecting on a race for past judgement. Move forward and act emotionally intellegent to all races, you are not victims NOW!!!!

Ugh these comments are nauseating. I’m gonna try to put it simple. Racism is still a real issue today. Not just in this country but across the globe. That’s just a fact. Part of the reason that it is still running rampant is because people, mainly white people, want to run away from the issue, dismiss it, or try to separate themselves from it. I get it, it’s hard to digest that you may have racial biases. It’s not an easy thing to confront within yourself but it’s what’s been ingrained in people because of the society we live in. But just shutting down because your feelings are hurt isn’t the answer. As soon as Mrs Jackson said she couldn’t trust white women all of them instantly turned off and went into defense mode. None of them even with their hurt feeling asked why she felt that way and what could be done to amend that. They just went with how they didn’t like hearing that and just wanted her to take it back. Plus she’s right, they just don’t want to acknowledge it. White women historically when fighting for “women’s rights” have excluded non-white women from the equation and were ok benefiting off of racism. So yea like white women can address misogyny and the patriarchy and men as a collective not just individuals “white women” can be used as a general term as well without them feeling personally attacked. The same way men need to hold other men accountable the same goes for white women and everyone obviously. I as a black woman should keep other black women accountable for their actions and vice versa. Seems like these white women were more concerned about not being perceived as racist shitty people instead of trying to learn how not to be a racist and shitty person.
If somebody puts down your entire group or race do you respond asking "why she felt that way and what could be done to amend that"....of course not! But you think only white women should. You people are so steeped in division, race obsession and victimhood you will always suffer from it
@@rodgermurphy5721 lol actually yea my gut reaction if I’m having a discussion with someone would be to ask them why because I’d be confused and want to understand what got a person to that bold statement. These women chose to participate in this they weren’t forced into it and knew what the topic at hand was. Then wanted to cry and just sing Kumbaya when they heard something they didn’t like. And also I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with it nor are the majority of black people. It’s not the only thing on our brains as we go about our day to day lives. But yea when the topic or an issue is brought up about race and racism we’re gonna talk about it. If that’s obsession then clearly you’re obsessed as well.
So very well said..... Nobody really takes Regina Jackson and the other two seriously anyway so it's pleasing to know that their irrelevant whinging is forever falling on deaf ears❤️💕

Funny how neither the woman in Blue or red, acknowledge the fact that "Karen" told them she's part native American. They're both just angry at the fact that she has lighter skin than they do. And yet they don't see how that is creepy, weird and very Hannibal Lecter, of them... Just plain envy... Take it up with your maker...
Being part “Native” is a common excuse that is unlikely to be true. Most White Americans always say this without any tribal affiliation proof or genetic tests to back up their claims.
So they're jealous because she's white. Is this what you're going with! No wonder this is called a white supremacist country.
She had to literally SAY she was “part Indigenous” they couldn’t tell. Do you know colorism affects more than just black people? No matter your race if you’re lighter, you’re less likely to face oppression. And *if* she’s part indigenous it should be all the more reason for her to understand where their coming from. @@raerae5663 Even after she told them she was still being attacked, so it made no difference because all they saw was someone lighter than them, so it bothered them. I felt like the Indian woman was the bigger bigot, the black woman was not really that bad but I feel the reason why the Indian woman, is as she is, is for this reason: Back in India, her lighter skin (compared to other Indians) would've given her a higher caste status because Indians are extremely bigoted towards each other (That's a problem and prejudice they created for themselves) So back in India, she would've walked around with a sense that she is superior to others and so she takes that bigoted attitude with her to America and is envious of anyone who has lighter skin than her because SHE sees that as Superior and that's what SHE wants. Which makes it her problem, not the rest of societies, doesn't it? Regina Jackson and Saira Rao's dissemination of baseless claims regarding "white supremacy" reflects a lack of substantive understanding. Their self-serving narratives as "race grifters" only perpetuate division. Similarly, The Black Lives Matter movement, although claiming to address police violence, often overlooks broader societal issues and profited in the same way. Constructive discourse demands engagement with evidence-backed arguments, not fruitless exchanges with those unable to provide substantive facts.

People get angry when the U.S. is labeled a white supremacist nation, I would add with strong class dimensions, however objectively there are many historical facts that support exactly this, but you will not learn these things unless you go to college, or read many books that should be a standard part of the American educational system.

Just wow...

Let’s also keep in mind that this is a different situation than someone random yelling out slurs or insults to a passerby or in an argument. If you were so indifferent about it you wouldn’t be here on a video about race issues giving your commentary on the topic.
