Nice to see you back! Time to come back to Yonge and Eglinton - they have finally made major progress there since your last video. Also, Metrolinx just released a video showing that the Finch LRT is basically done. Might be worth a trip as well.
Thanks Stephen, I’ll try to get over there. I was up at the Humber station the other day. Looks totally done. I was hoping to see some trains but alas. Shouldn’t be too long I hope. Hurontario LRT (HM) is lagging quite a bit as well. All the works are around the MSF but not a great spot to visit.
Hurontario LRT should probably see a lot of progress this year but I think it’s likely a 2026 opening. I’ve heard rumours that Metrolinx is going to open both Finch and Eglinton at the same time - which I guess would make sense in terms of updating signage throughout the system
Not much left to do on the east end. They are building an enclosure around the transformers and logistic computers at the corner of Victoria Park and Eglinton.
I think the biggest issue might be because the system goes from a clear right of way to a mixed traffic situation in the east as you are probably aware. Although done all over the world. 🤷
I still don't understand why they can't at least start making use of the GO / UPE station and bus terminal. Also you are incredibly brave getting anywhere near geese with goslings in tow.
From what I could see there are still some panels to go in the canopy ceilings suggesting they are still finishing electrical, communications and/or commissioning.
@@grammin Ah, I was just assuming they were waiting on the LRT to be finished. Hope it's going to be done soon, this is going to be a major boost to a very underserved part of the city. Thanks for helping to keep us updated.
The entire project has to be 'signed off' before parts can be opened. This, in good part, is due to the way the contract (P3) is structured, and the still contested terms of meeting that contract are disputed.
I saw trains running this week on Crosstown, east of DVP
yay, hes back!
👍

Maybe?
They have been "Training" all week! (Well I have personally seen them on Monday, Wednesday and today!)
Cool thanks Chris. Every time I go visit they’re not running much lol
@@grammin I saw two as I was cycling across the Gatineau Hydro Corridor Trail last week. I cross the LRT where the Trail meets Eglinton.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.
It's a nice theory. There might be proof someday.

@@grammin My apologies for not referencing my comment. I mean the *opening* of the Eg LRT is a theory.

Yeah this policy/contract was a bit shortsighted for me.
I work in infrastructure myself, though not public transport. Still none of this surprises me
