Lol, it's used a lot in the show. It's actually the beginning of "From the Walls of Monteczuma" with a few twists. I remember the show using musical motifs like this a few times
@@mushroom6771 I don't remember which chapter but I also read the manga and she mentioned wanting to get bigger breasts (whether surgically or hormonally I can't really remember 😅). There was also an FtM foil (a character meant to parallel with a main character) introduced in the last few chapters (the manga is unfinished, sadly) that binds and is on hormones.
its kinda sweet that this anime existed because isnt japan, along with the rest of the world for the last several decades, super transphobic? or i heard that some asian countries have more tolerance for queer stuff, but only if its in a sexualized/mocking way, so this just refreshing but like theres something in my brain thats wondering how this even came to air at the time? like as a queer person myself i'm curious 1) how did this come to air and how was the public reaction and 2) if it was so easy to air in 1980, why arent trans stories/comedies like this more common?
As far as I know, being trans is more "normal" within japanese culture than being gay. In their minds, being trans shows your willingness to conform to the visual societal expectations of most cis women. They would generally be less accepting of a guy who is masculine but likes guys, or a guy who is feminine only in attitude who likes guys, as it doesn't fit the visuals of either a straight man or straight woman. As japanse society is built arojnd the collective, all that really matters at the end of the day is that there is still surface level cohesion, while the opposite is true of America. Speaking as of now, gay people are far more accepted than trans people in western society, and its interesting to see the hypocrisy of both
@@dogman985 and that's mind blowing because trans people can be gay and society sometimes saying stuff like "why do you even became woman if you like girls you could be just cis hetero man" And like they're missing the whole point
@donttalktomeyoureannoying8736 You don't actually care about misogyny. You just use it as an excuse to hate on trans women! If you really think that womanhood is based on just having a vagina since birth then it would make you the misogynist. Women are more that their genitalia!!
She’s not a femboy she expresses to her father that she wants to be his daughter and desires female sex characteristics like breasts. A femboy wouldn’t be interested in that
Love how all she did was open the door, wink, and close the door
She forgot what she went to the room for.
she's on guard duty for the yakuza, saw a wimpy kid and thought "eh no way he's dangerous we good"
Guys will have this happen to them and wonder "Was she hitting on me?" for the rest of their lives.
Better representation than anything Netflix has ever made.
