Dude this is one powerful throwback issue, I absolutely loved seeing Photon,Shang Chi and Wasp fighting together and the potential of this being one of the best Avengers teams I’ve seen gathered in a long time seeing Cap and Jarvis in the mansion almost brought a tear to my eyes oh and Joel I read the book but after your review I almost want to read it again. Thanks
I really like the idea of this team book. With so many super heroes why should the X-tiles get all the focus? Great review Joel. Maybe we will get a tie in to what happened to Hawkeye's Thunderbolts a few years back.
Yup. Since the main Avengers group in Mckay's book deals mainly with universe/world-ending threats, this one is more on local or even street-level stuff
ive been having so much fun with Orlando’s Scarlet Witch run, this was an instant read for me. and boy do i love a night thrasher appearance. also I really hope Flash Thompson finds his way onto this book, ever since King in Black I’ve been waiting for him to officially join the roster
Well, no one at Marvel did, so that's at least keeping in current Continuity. Ironically Marvel's version of Nezha also became corrupted just like DC's own
While I'm not thrilled with Night Thrasher snagging a spot on the roster, the rest of the team and the villains they're dealing with reminds me of the Busiek-Perez Avengers run Looking forward to seeing where this goes 😁
It’s amazing to see how Marvel Comics manages to evolve in the 2020s. Aside of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Nightwing, DC Comics has not had a solid representation. Nubia was supposed to be like the Wonder Woman of the 2020s. Aquaman should’ve been DC Comics response to Thor after the success of the first film.
They have went their separate ways, with Alex last seen with the Future foundation group who was last seen trapped in the now-returned Baxter building. While Julie has popped up here and there, last seen in Rowell's Runaway book
guess the 10 rings based of the mcu version can teleport, neat 2:13 though i wonder if the old school rings are still around and if so how they distinguish them
@@CapedJoel yeah but the way some writers can be at times and depending how in touch or aware some are aware of others are on other runs sometimes you can see cases like where one will ignore the events of the other, like that cliffhanger that had the maker in that venom story land in the ruins of the og ultimate universe, but then hickman decided to just ignore that
Okay so let's see who's got a new movie coming up, Well in love and thunder we just introduced Hercules so obviously we gotta put Hercules on the team. We definitely need Shang-Chi, We're planning on releasing a ql movie so we gotta show off him a little bit more oh yeah she-Hulk got that wonderful series we gotta have that more. Uh let's throw in rainbow she's going to be showing up in the new X men movie? Okay now we just need some regulars to make it look like we're not using this cover to advertise our next lineup of movies we already got tap we just need someone that we can just use as a team ringer without questions, I know Hawkeye! [Look am I being a little cynical here about the team lineup on this one maybe it's just the only energy caster in the group is literally the third captain Marvel whose ability is bending light and the closest thing we have to a scientist on the team this is a very martial arts heavy one and strength based team this is not going to go well] Thank goodness barts thankfully immortal.
See, Joel, told you that you would like this book. And yes, it's much more interesting than Mckay's Avengers book, which feels kinda one note and boring lately
Like you say that but before the movies these where just the characters who would be on the Avengers team most regularly. Until it was decided the main Avengers book just needed to have Iron Man, Cap & Thor at all times forever.
@@CapedJoelYh back in the days they would just switch it up with the avengers but nowadays they gotta have iron man ,cap and Thor cause money and shit
Bro u say that but I don’t see falcon on the team do u? Also back in the days many heroes join😂 the avengers plus steave is dead in the mcu and yet he’s on this team
I really like this line-up. Tons of personality. I am stoked for the Serpent Society too!

Good character interaction. Over the top villainess.
The serpent society workshopping Mephisto! Did not see that one coming! Also, like that you mention whose marriage would he steal next.

Sorry, not happening. If you have read the latest Solicits, there aren't any followups to Clint's Thunderbolts team
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw What was the reason for the axe for the book?
Poor sales. The only reason)
Same reason X titles get focus = good sales)
@@user-uz2sj4zs7i poor sales, plus it was only a limited series to begin with
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mwBut if the sales were successful, the limited series would’ve been ongoing like DC recently did with Green Lantern.

I agree with everything you said, buddy! Also nice to see steve rogers back in the avengers
I'm glad Shang-Chi still has Nezha's World rings, I was worried they would end up memory holed
Well, no one at Marvel did, so that's at least keeping in current Continuity. Ironically Marvel's version of Nezha also became corrupted just like DC's own
Didn't Shang-Chi have a cloning ability in the comics too? Or am I thinking about a different character?

I very glad that Avengers Mansion isn’t an AIR/BB anymore.😂
Great read and tha is for covering this. Inwas fearful nobody would.
I hope we can see More Villains,s teams who can challenged the Avengers.
Great review Joel and this book sound fun
I'm a bit surprised Stevil AKA Flag Smasher wasn't the guy behind the unification of The Serpent Society
Obviously things have changed in between
Pretty good story!!
Excellent review I'm invested in this
They're finally using Night Thrasher?!
@@jamcalx Fresh off his recent miniseries.

Anything is better than great lakes avengers
What a nice book. I was surprised to see Night Thrasher and one of the Power Pack heroes. I hope this book sticks around.
Never gonna let the marriage thing go are you? Joel
Not easily I won't lol
Boy, Reed might want to have a talk cause that suit seems like a copyright violation 😂
Why? He doesn't pay attention to this kind of stuff
It’s been a while I seen a member of the Power Packs. I wonder what happened to them

I feel like Avengers stories need a thesaurus so they don’t use the word Assemble over and over.
Imagine if she took that helmet to the south of America. Or Saskatchewan💀😂

The OG 10 rings are still rings you wear on your hand. Last time I checked Iron Heart had them in the Duggan Iron Man book.

I am an old school fan of the Serpent Society but not as devil worshippers.I prefer them as a supervillain labor union.
You can blame Jason effin' Aaron for "retconning" the ol' Serpent Society into the devil worshipping cult they are right now
Too bad it’s a limited series
So can someone explain ti me who Night Trasher is? I have never heard of him.
He's a member of the OG New Warriors, Marvel's take on the Teen Titans
Wasn't Shang Chi at odds with the heroes nowadays?
Yes, he was, but then things between him and the hero community got better after 'GANG War' 😅
Unfortunately, I think this is only a 5-issue mini
I mean isn't everything kinda a mini in comics until its popular enough and they decide to extend it
