I never really knew why argus was climbing and why he shows up from it *EXACTLY* when you do
Dormin activates him
It’s the guardian of the ruins. It detected your trespassing, and it responded in kind.
@@averageman4873 I don't think dormin activates him as dormin himself says their body had been severed into 16 powers
There’s a cave entrance underneath the arena, and considering he comes from the cliff, it’s safe to assume he lives in said cave. And like the comment before me, he’s the guardian of the ruins.
Just to show that what your up against.
Y’know there’s actually a good reason why Argus doesn’t clench his fist to crush wander. Same reason you wouldn’t clench your fist to crush a cactus. Sure wander would be crushed but his sword would just impale his hand.

@@jazzy9809 That doesn't prevent other colossi from trying to flatten Wander like a pancake, though. Argus' fist can't be much worse than Quadratus' sauropod stomp or Gaius' sword.
@@Dinoman972 if anything, these Colossi have proven to react extremely slowly to what is happening.
Also these Colossi aren't intelligent like Apes, or at all.
If it was an intelligent creature like King Kong he would have crushed his fist for sure.
These Colossi are like robots who don't know what to do with their hand once the weapon is lost.
Why didnt he use his other hand to pull wander off?
Babbage they are fragments of the soul forming, they don’t have an intelligence more of a basic instinct like a zombie, once the souls merge together with wander you become a self aware colossus
My problem was, it was so hard to bait his hand. He kept trying to stomp me with his feet.
Damn, they got rid of the badass roar that he did in the PS3 version
Yeah they did that for a lot of colossi :( Honestly, I think that pretty much all of them sounded better in the original.
Dont forget the PlayStation 2 copy. He did the roar in the OG PlayStation 2 version but not the PS4 version.
I offer you a recipe for an arena based on Celosia's altar, Argus' destroyed city, Hyrdus' lake, Dirge's cavern, Kuromori's coliseum, Malus' tower, Barba's underground chamber, Valus' temple, Pelagia's structures with Avion's sunken structures and Phalanx's rings. Take the exclusive Guard Tower area from Prince of Persia: Revelations (Warrior Within on the PSP) along with the Windmill from ICO and mix well with the batch, as for what you get in the end; it's a gumball only for a madman to come up with something like this, one in which is served exclusively in The Colossus Z-

I feel like the Valley was more of a city than the city Celosia was in due to its architecture, layout and design.

It looks like it but you can’t reach Argus, by jumping from the intact bridge. The broken bridge brings him closer.

Love when The Opened Way kicks in for this beast after not playing since you fought Phaedra. It's almost like the game's giving you a last hurrah before you take on Malus (which is much more a tragic/symbolic fight than a triumphant one).

When I landed on the head and took its health down I knew something was wrong when the music didn’t change, this was the part I realized it was going to be much more difficult taken this giant down

It took me ages to figure out how to kill this one back in 2005.
Because bad pattern design, problably the worst boss
Tip: if you shoot the weak spot on the head then he only has a small amount of health by the time the head glyph disappears
Definitely easier to shoot out his arm vital from the gantry, so once you jump onto him, you can go head, chest, ground and palm. None of this climbing down his arm and back up again..
Once Argus breaks the walkway/bridge he's easy to defeat.
I hope that bluepoint makes a remake of the first metal Gear solid, because this one Its masterpiece

I don't want anyone touching that classic. We already saw what happened when that was remade all those years ago (MGS: The Twin Snakes). That sucked so much ass compared to the original PS1 game, in my opinion.

the problem is that they are mainly peaceful until you attack them and even after you do they sometimes aren’t violent

These are not humans, they're robot-like that have basics of zombies intelligence, they doesn't attack if their weapons fall down, only shaking
These are also giantes so their reaction are pretty slow

Underrated? This game was extremely tedious, this boss in particular took 10 years just to stab his chest.
Underrated my ass the boss is glitched for me so I can’t get the finishing blow even though it’s glowing blue

None of them were hard. But I did break my monitor because of this fight and it was because of the hand in particular.

I fucking hate this fight, especially on Hard mode
This is my favorite bipedal colossus and favorite colossus overall.
So, Argus was the last colossi but Malus is the last hope to keep Dormin sealed. Dormin says "the wish is nearly granted but someone is stand to get in thy way ", knowing that the Elder Chief and his men's is coming to this forbidden land to stop their revival and Malus is the last colossi with the Dormin sealed essence.
O... Poor Argus... I preferred to ride around those colossi than kill 'em...

What happens if you jump off the cliff while those black things are chasing you?
The death cutscene moves you to a specific location for every boss, meaning you cant jump off. if you somehow did I imagine you would just die and have to do the boss again.

I would've beaten this guy on the first try but when he did the sword swing to knock down the columns so I could climb up, his blow somehow knocked me out through the wall behind me in a glitch or something and I died.
I fell through the world in the cut scene when Cenobia knocked down the last column before the wall gets knocked down. Real pain on these long ones like him and Argus.

I've seen the gameplay, but not as much. maybe it's this remake that makes him look so much better
i guess its just me . this game seems like a pathetic excuse for a God of War giant boss fight. its slow dumb a little boring and the fighter seems a lil inexperienced . in other words - SUPER underwhelming.
This game was the first of its kind dating all the way back in the ps2 era
