The happiest ending was achieved by following every direction from the narrator.
Stanley was happy at last.
Oddly, if you play the original, Stanley steps out into the streets of the city while in this game, he steps out into an entirely different setting.
And Stanley.... Was happy.

I wish there were more games with Stanley parable's "vibe". I havent really expirienced anything like this game apart from maybe several other interesting games like Jazzpunk, paratopic or Beginners guide but they are just not quite what Stanleys parable has to offer. This game is quite a spiritual journey. I feel like only interesting people get to this comment section so if you got any similar games feel free to tell me about them / recommend them. Would love to talk to some of you guys, Im sure we would have some interesting discussions.
Portal 2 had the alone in a massive empty building vibe, i guess not so much the toilings of everyday life though.
You know similar to have the Narrator said, Minecraft is a really nice game and is sort of akin to the Stanley Parable in a few ways.. kinda of
this struck a chord.
the initial dissonant and eerie sounds, the dramatic piano chord.
then … lightness. beauty. harmony. nature offering itself before Stanley.

I have been dealing with depression for so long, this always feels like a weight off my shoulders.
cory used this in his return video. couldnt be more fitting.

Seriously though, this music is a blast of nostalgia to me, I remember loving this game: feeling joy in first seeing the happy ending, feeling the tear brush down my cheek as I witness what many say to be the true ending (the ending where you as the player leave Stanley), the anger and frustration of trying to solve the nuclear detonation, the fear and regret as I jumped off the stairs making the game reset from the peaceful room, and laughing at every quip and joke and dialogue that escaped the ever-calm yet ever-passive-aggressive narrator...
This game is a game unlike any other, a game that stands out amongst the rest. Though it was short, it was broad in its choices and endings. Though many might see this in the future as a game with old jokes and small gameplays, it was a game of true narrative freedom. So many games give choices and multiple endings, but this game did it in such a way that it left a mark on everyone that saw or played it.
Though I am upset that we haven't been able to get a game like this for so long, I'm also glad that this game has had all these years to still stand out amongst the rest. No game has gone into the trope of narrator vs (or even sometimes working with) the player. No game has tried to create so many wacky, emotional, comical, or intense endings. In the end,
This game is a game of freedom, a game that truly shows why choices matter, a game like no other.
This is Stanley Parable. A game I will never forget.
This makes me so nostalgic, makes me think of good old times. Thank you for extending this. (:

This might not be a great example but when I don't think of the Freedom ending in The Stanley Parable, I think about the submit your life ending in Bloodborne. You wake up in the morning believing what ever you want to believe, and then you just walk forward. Making your own path. No longer having anyone tell you what to do.

Your probably not going to see this or hear about this wherever you are but I want you to know that this... Is what I've been loathing for, for the longest time... I lay down in my bed put my phone over my heart and have my hands holding the phone in a crossing pattern... I hear my heart beat... I close my eyes and I imagine my ideal/virtual, poetic self (Violet) truly connect with my real self... I can never forget this song or your name and I can never thank you enough... but for what's it worth...

@@slewis4440 Same. Because I remember listening to this theme after watching a gameplay and not finding it cuz the game just released. Fast forward 2 or 3 years later after Cory had used this theme a few times, I wasn't able to recognize it at all lol. Fast forward again 2 more years after searching for an hour... I finally found it... (Music goes well with this lol)
