@@mikeearls126 I have this fridge with this problem and its been like it for several years. Its a pain but it works. You have to tap the light switch on and off 5 times within 5 seconds. That turns on the defroster in the freezer. The light switch in the fresh food not the freezer. I agree its ridiculous.
@@snaggedover thanks. when i do that nothing happens. My defrost system is not working....the thermostat is fine, i haven't checked the heater but i hear they rarely blow. the part i want to test is the defrost timer but as you say, that part is no longer available. did you ever fix your problem?
@@mikeearls126 I have this same problem. I press the light switch on and off 5 times and nothing happens. The coils in my freezer are always freezing up. I checked the thermostat and the defrost heater, and they're both functional. Did you just give in and get a new fridge?

How do you test the board to make sure its bad.
If you have a multimeter you would test it for voltage and make sure you are getting the correct voltage coming to it.
