By the time the contract is over thecteam is looking to draft again. At that point they're nit looking to give a guy more than 1 or 2 more years. The system doesn't work for RBs.

The problem I have in all of this is the team only shows how much they value their top RB when they’re trading him away. They want top-tier compensation in a trade, but won’t off it while he’s on the team.
I understand his issue but he's not thinking from a business man's perspective. Most RBs aren't going to give you more than 4-5 seasons of prime performance and we've seen UDFAs come out of nowhere every year to replace the production of the starter that came before them. It doesn't make business sense to pay RBs more than a few mil per year.
