Welcome to Washington, DC
We wanted you!
To say just a few mil Is wild 😂
I mean when you’re unquestionably one of the best 10 people in the world at doing something that is incredibly profitable it doesnt seem like too much to ask. NFL makes about 20 billion in revenue a year
@@lycangoon5286they are billionaires regardless of any running back
Bro doesn't understand the market
Envy is a 7 deadly sin. He’s crying about getting paid 3 mil a year! 😂 oh poor baby! You have it soooo hard!
No it’s not
It is so brutal to get paid 5 million per year instead of 7-8 million.
As a chargers and lion die hard fan he only had 520 rushing yards all season i don’t believe he’s cracked 1000 yards rushing yet so i see i dont see him getting hurt so would offer him big money if him as a runner was better
@@rolandbridgeman5450 you are completely discounting his receiving numbers and double digit touchdowns yearly.
@@rolandbridgeman5450You don’t know what your talking about, you should never say anything every again
@@rolandbridgeman5450I’m a die hard chargers fan , ekeler had 900+ yards rushing last year and the year before that he had 900+ rushing yards as well. So I can definitely say that is false , not to mention 25 rushing touchdowns the last two seasons. Keep in mind I’m not putting his receiving stats which he is known for.
@@charlesbunten2588 he’s never cracked a thousand rushing or receiving he’s not a great blocker and plays more like a receiver than a runner And is at a hella injury prone position I hoped we gave him sumn solid but he doesn’t need a huge contract
Honestly I'd blame ezekiel elliott he got paid for his incredible rookie season but fell off as soon as he got paid. Now teams don't want to screw themselves. If elliott would have played up to the contract who knows maybe they would be quicker to pay the running backs what they deserve
Yea zeke messed it up for everybody we was talkin about that at work
Same with Todd gurley
@@cmdrumming6104 i mean they only gave them the ball 400+ times not to mention recieving touches as well
@@johnhickson1095 yep, something needs to change. rb’s are getting overworked and used up during rookie contracts, it screws them
Same with a lot of RBs. It’s too high risk to pay them ridiculous amounts of money. Especially when they’re not even as important as the O line
Well… you’re not doing that this season lmao
Running backs should be hybrid. HB/slot receiver. Like bijohn Robinson and Debo samuel . The only way to evolve as a running back.
I would say Ekeler is pretty hybrid, dude does everything
What do you have to do? Age better than you do as a position. He was one of the top RB in the league and now he’s dust, instantly.
Teams just don’t want to be looked badly upon for giving rbs a ton of money to get hurt, since they play the most beaten upon position in the sport. That’s not to say you’re not worth the money you think, which you are worth that 10000000%. It is solely for optics and teams not wanting to follow the Zeke Elliot timeline, as harsh as that sounds
Blame Leveon bell
Disagree
Todd Gurley
@@o4tw382 ?
No, Todd Gurley. The dude got paid the biggest RB contract(at that time) and gets hurt that same year. McVay said the next season, "I will never pay a running back again; I'll just use them and rotate them out," and that's what started this RB market problem.
Team chemistry is underrated at some point animosity is going to start kicking in, don't be surprised at a rift between eckler and herbert
Ankle injury makes complete sense now
Rookie contracts need to be shorter or at least come with incentives built in. The most valuable years of a RB are the cheapest yearsvfor the teams. By the time the contract is over thecteam is looking to draft again. At that point they're nit looking to give a guy more than 1 or 2 more years. The system doesn't work for RBs.
life isnt fair. ig ur parents didnt teach u that. hes still set for like and a millionaire
Yes one less year of rookie deals for rbs
It’s not confusing. You’re playing a position that not only has a very very short shelf life but also a position where a the difference between the 5th rated running back and the 25th rated running back isn’t that big of a gap. In other words almost all running backs are replaceable
Bro the issue is he wants to get paid as a top rusher but its his catching that hes elite at he had 520 yards running thats the reason the chargers dont wanna pay him
Couldn’t have said it any better, sent chills down my spine 🤣 I blame the shrooms.
Well that’s mostly the case but with him, I wouldn’t even call him a running back as he pretty much does everything. Runs a bit, and catches a lot, same as Deebo Samuel back with Jimmy g
@@hunch2041 It's completely wrong, and Ekeler is closer to the best RB than the 5th
If the difference between the 5th rated RB and the 25th rated RB is hardly noticeable, please tell me why ownership finds it necessary to tag some RBs at $10.1M when they could just sign the 25th RB for$1M.
Come to Washington bro you is slept on i promise you we going to appreciate you we gon get it together everyone sleeping on Washington now watch what the new owners do for them now
Future teller
So , should I not draft u this upcoming season?
Not a soul cares about your fantasy team
Junior Galette been told us The NFL a plantation
We want you! Welcome to Washington
I would literally cut off any two fingers Ekler chose for just one season's worth of his earnings.
Bro it’s crazy how ended up treating g the ball..
Like shiit
Let’s be honest, running backs typically have a hard time staying healthy. The average career span of a running back in a little under 3.5 years.
The problem I have in all of this is the team only shows how much they value their top RB when they’re trading him away. They want top-tier compensation in a trade, but won’t off it while he’s on the team.
A draft pick is 100 times less valuable then a long term contract. That’s common sense smh y’all are slow as hell
He is currently hurt and has missed the last three games. That’s why running backs don’t get paid
A few mill? What a struggle.
I completely support teams not paying RBs it's almost always a bad deal for the team because of the short shelf life of the position
I understand his issue but he's not thinking from a business man's perspective. Most RBs aren't going to give you more than 4-5 seasons of prime performance and we've seen UDFAs come out of nowhere every year to replace the production of the starter that came before them. It doesn't make business sense to pay RBs more than a few mil per year.
He’s earned it, but this season he’s been hurt most games. Not great in a contract year. He’ll still get a bag since he can catch the football
Honestly what’s the incentive to pay a RB good money when you can use him for 4-5 years and draft his replacement. Until these guys start showing longevity the market will continue to drop. And they are no longer required to win the superbowl
imagine how jj feels
He’s missing that most running backs deteriorate and at a faster rate than other nfl positions. The rb is the last position I’ll pay because it’ll be the first out
But theres no need to do him dirty though?
@@georgerichter3930 cap space man
@@theterpenater6414 so cut someone who isnt a top 5 performer in his Position. Its the Chargers, shouldnt be too hard to find
@@georgerichter3930 which induces a penalty..
@@theterpenater6414 for who and by who? Im probably not unterstanding something. But the best peformer should get. Surely they can put conditions in there, no?
Ekeler is making $6.1m per year - signed for 4yrs, $24m ($15m guaranteed). $6M signing bonus too. So for 4 years of work, he'll make $21m to $30m
The cold Brutal Honest truth is that a SUPER BOWL team has to prove that they are winning with the RB as their premier player. And it’s just not happening in this meta. RBS got nerfed.
Bro is you playing this week?
Someone needs to define the word value to him
for starters probably avg more than 2 yards a carry
Man. I get what he is saying. Cuz he sees what others are gettin paid....but i wish these guys would kno what its really like to live on $60k a year, working 65 hrs/wk, 50 weeks a year. "Just 5 or 6 mill per year,"
yeah. yeah. yeah.
Eckler thinking hes LT and demanding to get paid alot 😂
$5.5 million a year is brutal! lol
Go check what the owners make.
Rich people gettin mad over not being richer
Meanwhile he hasn’t don’t anything this year
Just wait until they start throwing Justin Herbert on the 1 yard line and you are useless
The struggle between labor and capitalist. Labor wants compensation for what they have done and how hard and taxing they are while capital pays by how abundant and replaceable they are.
Well said
Except Capitalist need labor while NFL teams don’t need highly paid running back to win
Think of yourself as a car and all questions will be answered.
What are you missing? That your position is the easiest to find a replacement. You were an undrafted free agent out of Western State, a D2 school that I had never heard of until I started writing this comment. How many good-to-great offensive and defensive lineman, wide receivers, defensive backs, tight ends, linebackers, and quarterbacks are in the league who were undrafted free agents? A hella lot less than there are running backs.
Would you trade ekeler for amari cooper ?
You're missing the fact that the collective bargaining agreement, that your union agreed to, brought this on. The teams can get a player for 1/10th the price. Would that player score 20tds? Probably not, but he'd score a hell of a lot more than 2.
You dont have value as you think.....look at chubb tonight. You picked a position that has a short shelf life
GMs aren't going to pay up for a short volatile position
the problem is they know the new age RB who can catch and run and be a workhjorse lasts from about 22-28 years old then there is a decline...so they dont wanna pay up like they do a QB who can play until they are 35 in their prime...WR kinda the same. Sucks that RBs get fu**ed like that. Really sucks. RBs should get a common tactic going that if you are 25 and elite, contracts restructured for 4 years with big money or they walk to another team that will pay. n Problem is at 28, you become "old" in NFL RB years...they start looking for the next ekeler.
Todd gurley
You already put two weeks after an ankle sprain, this is why RB aren’t getting paid. You guys get hurt a lot
RBs are TEs with a greater skill set
he says we should get paid our actual value, the issue is you DO get paid your actual value. RB is probably the lowest value position on offense or close to it. That’s just how it is, sorry you only get “a couple mil” per year smh
another casual comment from a casual fan, damn you’re stupid.
That sucks.
Blame Zeke and LeVeon Bell
It ain’t your league anymore, bruh.
Sorry. It's hard to feel bad for millionaires
Not for me. I'd be pissed too if I were getting paid less than what I'm making for my company.
@@schadracabaki9596 what if guys like you notoriously missed a bunch of time because of injury and were generally thought of as a dime a dozen. Would you still be paid like you are?
@@robertmancuso1883 I'd expect you to evaluate my specific contributions, considering they've consistently been far above replacement level. If you think top 5 in receptions as a RB is "dime a dozen", please try and find near-equivalent value. In the meantime though, pay me.
@Schadrac Abaki the market dictates a RBs value and right now their value is just not that high. They wear down quickly and get hurt often,so it's difficult to invest in them long term. I don't make the rules, the market does.
Hard to feel bad for the millionaire? You are siding with the billionaires you realize, right?
Backs will never get big bucks
Bruh get back on the field 😂
These RBs knew this rookie class is better than all of them...
running backs are replaceable man...new young athletes from college have insane speed and behind a good O line its all interchangeable... (to an extent)
Running backs are replaceable that’s why.
idiots keep saying teams dont want to pay rb's to get hurt......THEY PLAY THE MOST BRUTAL POSITION....they get the tough yards to sustain drives....pass protect....catch and bail for steessed out qb's!....They should get paid BECAUSE its brutal not despite of it.
playoffs are still won with good Defense and the ability to run the ball.
You can get a regular 9-5 job. Maybe then you would appreciate how much you’re getting paid.
Increase rookie salaries. Easy fix.
Half y’all got hurt the first 2 games, that’s why you ain’t got value 😂
Eh if anything they’re really are just getting overpaid. And the ones that are really are underpaid are the O lineman
Rich people problems…………
While millions and million people are struggling to survive… yall over paid these people and they complaining.
Give me a million I’ll survive with that my entire life
Doubt it
Even the most humble are susceptible to greed.
" A few mill..."? You weren't strong armed to sign your contract. You ask to seek a trade and you got no offers. The market told you the value of the position, You got a 2 million incentive laced additive to your last year on the contract that you signed. You being "treated" is 8 million for 6 months worth of work. Not counting the endorsements, you have going. You should be thankful the Chargers took a chance on you. Keep in mind, you were undrafted. That should tell you one thing. Biting the hand that fed you tells me a lot about your character.
Relax
Why did your HC stop running the ball against Jaguars? Run clock & there’s no comeback. So stupid.
Duuvaal!
lol stop being cheeks ma boi
Does he have any college eligibility left? Go back to Colorado and get that NIL money!
Sorry dude... your owner totally sux though!
Go get another job
He tried. No one wanted him.
You are grtting payed your value. Your value is just less than other positions. Get over it
Go the incentive based contract route.
Imagine being broke
It's honestly pretty easy you have to pay every low round and undrafted running back coming out in the draft to suck ass . Pretty simple really 🤷😂😂 nah but because you have guys who can do a job in the draft every year then even if you have to have 3 running backs to make up for a super star then you can do that and nowadays runningbacks can run and catch at least to a point. That's why it don't make much sense to pay runningbacks until that trend changes runningbacks rarely getting paid
I mean it’s kinda you’re fault lol late draft pick that can succeed
Fumble machine and your begging
Bro in the nfl and still is complaining
Millionaire whining about not making enough money while people literally cannot afford groceries
Respectfully.... Hey Austin. The Chargers or any other team will not be paying any small school running back more than twice. You got your one big contract. Try to do the best you can with that🤷🏽♂️
This guy talking about it's brutal making a few million lol. Sounds like a real nightmare at 28 years old
Henry not complaining. Stop complaining bro. What brutal what terrible. You are blessed bro. Don't forget that!! Come on Eck, and you better give it 💯 when season starts.
Tf are you talking about 😂 you’re either blind or stupid, the reason Henry isn’t complaining is bc he’s being paid 12.5 million dollars
I hope he quits
The defense lines have gotten so big because the offense line has gotten that big. there should be a 295 pound weight limit for offense and defense lines
💀 absolutely not. If you’re small just say it
@@devinshearer7523 if you’re a idiot just say it
Cry cry cry.
Short term contracts 2-3 years, no guaranteed money, incentive based. I get Austin is built different and that should be recognized. I would be upset too after putting a team on his back, getting underpaid and not even getting a pro bowl is so disrespectful. If I were him I’d be upset too but he has no real leverage. He’s under contract with no guaranteed money so more than likely a team won’t trade for him and he will be coming back to play for the chargers. Maybe next season or whenever the market is reset he will get paid.
Free market capitalism!!!😂
Oh wait...
Running backs should strike.
Eckeler I'm a Chargers fan, but relax just think about it. I understand you are a great athlete, i could put my self in your shoes, but bro you're a millionaire already the chargers organization gae you a chance being an undrafted player. Not so brutal they want you there but not terrible you're a millionaire that's not so terrible. You're just getting so brutal greedy. Unfortunately the market for running back position, is what it is. They gave you a chance. Be greatfull, someone is giving you bad advice. Just keep your great legacy. At the end just don't be greedy. Your great hunam being. Keep your self strong abdominal humble don't forget.
He's an athlete in LA making subpar money, of course he should want more
@@schadracabaki9596He can't want more, but he's not getting it. Forgetting the fact that this happens to running backs all of the time and that he's an undersized 28 year old. You'd think he'd be bright enough to remember that the reason he got a shot was Melvin Gordon wanted more money and the Chargers. Gordon was a first round pick and much bigger then him.
Why would he put himself in your shoes? He’s there because worked hard to get there it’s much harder to be an elite NFL RB than whatever it is you’re doing… get over yourself dude
Bro crying over a few mill😂 blows my mind.
Huh?
Right plenty of XFL and UFL and candid league who would plan for less then keep complaining plenty of people want there job
Ekeler thinks he all that and I’m a chargers fan he thinks he’s good as CMC Derrick Henry Nick Chubb
Blame the union
🎻 I make millions…so brutal!
Life time of injuries
Don’t sign up for it then
It’s quite simple. RB’s are a dime a dozen. There’s no demand with a saturated market. So stop complaining.
The rb is the most un important position in the game
what!!??? hahah
It’s not fuc$ing brutal. You make millions. So tired of the entitlement athletes have
The rookie deals are too long for rb they need a carve out in the cba so they can get a 2nd deal earlier, 5 years in the league and most guys are done and it’s only getting worse
It’s brutal out here man. Signing a $24.5 Million contract for 4 years… do you look like a minimum wage worker? 😂
