    after my first comment exactly one month ago I've progressed from;
    -simply getting a model into vr chat
    to
    -full body tracking models
    -dynamic bones (thx Tupper :3)
    -adding removing meshes and textures
    You sure can learn a lot in 30 days!

      Sunny Hill Ive figured all of that out, animations, key shape modification, basic 3d modeling, rigging from scratch, in about a week. Boredom makes for a lot of progress.

    Remember Myspace back in the day, and how it ended up accidently getting tons of teens into coding HTML? I love that Vrchat is getting so many people into 3D design, animation, and even having to take performance into consideration like you might in game design.

    I don't actually know if this was commented on, but one thing you can do in Play Mode to save component settings is when you're finished with all your adjustments, right click on the Dynamic Bone (Script) component, and "Copy component". Then when you Stop, right click that Dynamic Bone (Script) component again, and "Paste component values". All your work done in Play Mode has now been successfully transferred!

      Ive seen Kayla Jayde use "Force" for her tutorial hair do. she set it to -0.0001. so yeah, those settings need to be way down.

      Force does work better, but you have to use incredibly small amounts of it. Like 0.001

    You may find it easier to copy your component after adjusting the settings in game mode and then click the gear again after you stop the play button and use the paste component values option. Though, I don't know if doing it that way has any adverse effects.

    really good video, helped with my first dynamic bone setting. Only thing i encountered was: before you test your dynamic jiggling, you need to select the model and then go play, otherwise you cant move it at all. No idea if it was just my Unity, still good to know for others

    And you can edit it in play mode as long as you click the gear and copy the component values before exiting

    I actually discovered that skirt root works better as a child of hips. There are some issues with the bone unless it has a parent.

    I always start with 0.3 on dampening and 0.7 on inertia, and 0.1 on the rest, and then I add elasticity or stiffness when necessary. Boobs need a bit of both so they don't look ridiculous.

    You can simply drag the bone you want to exclude onto the "Exclusions" field and it will automatically increase the size and add the bone as an exclution.

    hey how do you even show your models bone parents? becuase when i click on it in the hierrachy it doesnt show me and the models name isnt blue

    how do i stop the hair going through the body, i tried it with bone colliders it doesn't work feelsbadman
    selected the spine for it and other things nothing worked

      As he said, they're not perfect. Normally they'll clip through if you move extremely fast.

    hey you know for a while now i've been trying to import several models to vrchat but mostof them didnt have shoulders, chest and upper chest. i have also seen people at vrchat that could use these characters. can somebodytellme whatam i doing wrong?

    I for the life of me can not get it to work. I followed step by step on how to set up a root for dynamic bones and when I put my root into dynamic bones in unity it does nothing. It's absolutely still. What am I doing wrong?

    So my avatar has a tail that sits stiff and straight like this \ which looks unnatural once i stop moving and it goes back into position. So i was wondering if there was a way to make it just fall and bend like gravity was applied? Love the vid thx for the help :)

    How can I move my model around like he does? I click the play button but it just send my character to a weird scene and I cant do anything to it or even see it since it gets sent really far away.

      You press play button and click the game tab next to scene and then go back to scene

    how are you moving the character around, i dont know how to do that so i can see how the dynamic bone works. idk if its a certain key you need to hold while moving but its annoying

      you need to select the model then click play like on the right side in his screen you see hsi model then the root things. click your model then play and then top left click the second one then you have the same screen like him.
      also click "scene" it goes to game mode when u click play

      kyle hopper I figured mine out dude. In game there is a setting to increase the amount of dynamic bones in you game so it’s not capped. Check if it’s that.

      You might have to assign "weight" to your mesh on blender, basically it means the mesh follows the bone when it moves. Example: When you move your finger bone down, the finger part of the mesh moves along with it.

    thanks for an awesome tut, tup. Question: do you know what settings to tweak to get dynamic bones to work on large models for world animations? I have a giant jellyfish with dynamic bones on it's tentacles, floating overhead in a world. The dynamic bones work in Unity, but not in-game. When I scale the jellyfish to 1x, they work in game. But when I make the jellyfish appropriately enormous, then the dynamic bones get disabled in-game. Any idea what settings I need to tweak? I'm stuck. Tup? Anyone? HALP!

    So...how is this working? You skipped a major step- rigging and weighting the skirt/hair bones. NOTHING I do is working, i followed every single step, no movement in unity. HOW do you properly set up the hair rig structure? Very frustrating, as this seems so simple and yet NOTHING is working.

      i don't know what you mean by weighing the bones but if im understanding correctly i think all you need to do is parent the bones using cats blender plugin. then use a dynamic bone on the parent. sorry if thats not the answer you were looking for. but i was having the same problem and parenting the skirt bones and hair bones fixed it.

    Not sure if you're still tracking this video, but I am in need of some help. My dynamic bones work perfectly fine, however whenever I strafe the dynamic bones (or rather their attached body parts) seem to tear each strafe animation cycle. It doesn't feel right and looks terrible. Any suggestions?

    Is there any work around if you don't use MMD models? I have a model that has a piece of clothing that I've separated from the body, but it's just a mesh, it has no bones. Would my only choice be to add bones to the clothing?

    Fascinating. I'm glad someone came up with this idea. I can get into it, but maybe if it also came with a full body controller all in one package. I'm in desperate need for something for my game.       I wasn't aware that it was developed independently until now. I was convinced that it was just Unity trying to make more money, even though they already make plenty. If I was aware, I wouldn't have made that comment. However, you really did manage to piss me off. That sort of thing is a pet peeve of mine, Tsuken.

    Can someone just put a free download to it, I'm honestly sick of a Dynamic Bones tool to be paid for, its stupid. Assets shouldn't be paid for.
