Ahnald, Bane survived Leia’s ult because he wasn’t inflicted with Ambushed. It only dealt 30% of her max health, instead of 90% (although potentially Bane could’ve also survived that)
That's why I think he was just lucky. Also timing healing immunity on leia. Wihout it she would be again at 100% health and protection, + what you said. Still prefer Bane + SEE

They said the “effects persist if bane is defeated” only is supposed to applies to his omicron which makes no sense because all of the rule of 2 omicron effects only boost bane personally

No pain, no Bane
Really depressing, my first GL was SEE and i was so underwhelmed. Seeing Bane i pushed conquest super hard, saved gear and relic materials and pushed him to relic 9 on day one. Now i feel like im not getting the same return on investment even if he is still good.

@@AhnaldT101 not really a big problem, it's like hitting the "enhance" button on mods, calibrating and downgrading them. CG is using some form of the English language from a galaxy far far away from reality.

I feel like this nerf is just going to throw wat back with SEE and turn bane into a solo machine which is just gonna perpetuate the issue with wat and armorer not being with their respective factions that they’re trying to fix
Exactly. The whole point was to take wat and his tank tech away, but now they got rid of that.

I for one have been wanting wat to be used with separatists for a long time even before trench came out so I was really hoping this would do that and then next they’d do a lifter for SLKR so people stopped using wat and armoer with him too so that they can both finally be used with factions that actually make sense. This seems like it’s only going to encourage people to continue using wat with SEE for the tank tech and just using Bane on his own
@@Zimmy369 In that case what if wat was tweaked so techs could have even more bonuses on seperatists while being less effective on non-seperatist units. The medpack tech already has a seperatist-exclusive bonus, so for the weapon tech maybe bring back the armor penetration but only for seperatists, and for the shield generator either the self-cleanse or the protection recovery only works on seperatists (so its less effective on SEE)
Some alternate ways to nerf this is for wat to gain his bonus turn only if all allies are seperatist. This puts wat more closely with armorer who has to survive a few turns before being able to give the buff, or not letting wat place techs on galacic legends in the first place.

I think if they nerfed wat people would be really upset but I think buffing him with separatists would be awesome and a two for one to make Trench better in the process. Same philosophy could be used on armorer and the stacks of beskar

As someone whose not even close to unlocking SEE but is getting bane next conquest cycle, im completely ok with this. Bane on his own seems insane.
Bane is so weird, nerfing his useability with SEE when he already beats all GLs he could beat with SEE without SEE.

This is random, but CG needs to give us a training mode where we can fight any squad in our roster, using any squad in our roster, with modifiers that we can flip on and off like grand arena omicrons, territory wars omicrons, etc. I just got starkiller and want to theory craft but test his full potential without his ga omicrons
Bane is arguably the best UNIT in the whole game. Including GLs

The nerd is only textual. It already works that way. If your bane gets killed and SEE is still alive, he starts getting ability blocked and can suffer those debuffs

This is the equivalent of selling people a car saying it’s 330 horsepower and when people receive it it’s only 300. Then the car manufacturer saying that’s “intended” and change the sticker afterwards. It’s misleading, a nerf, some could argue false advertisement.

There needs to be way more oversight In the mobile Industry. They way these companies can treat their players(deeply addicted for some). And get away with it. Can't wrap my head around it.. oh wait, it's money.

Okay… why nerf Bane when they can retroactively buff Leia to specifically deal with Bane or characters attempting to solo her. Like adding a clause that when one character is left fighting her (excluding galactic legends) she, and possibly her team as well, deals bonus true damage equal to 20 percent of their health or something.

Bane is supposed to be a SEE lifter right? So why the hell do they not want him to lift SEE??? It’s even Omicron locked. It makes no sense to me. Especially since now Bane’s main use is as a solo unit.

It’s kind of a shame because I wanted him for my SEE specifically but at least we can get two great teams out of it in most cases.
Bane is basically the Sith Galactic Legend, but just like SEE, he does better without a full Sith squad.

Bane is the new GL. He’s just undeniably better than SEE and he doesn’t even need him.
I love the idea of Bane being a monster and prefer him being his own thing. If CG wants a SEE lifter still, why not plagues? His kit could combine both bane and war tambor with ult charge and permanent buffs for SEE. There problem solved your welcome CG.

Am I not understanding this right? In that it isn’t a nerf since it’s not like he is doing it, so nerf in terms of wording/understanding of his kit but technically not a change to what he’s doing?

I tested this in arena. You need the speeds right; otherwise he’ll get ambushed and die from her ult. While he doesn’t have access to his omis; it doesn’t really matter all that much for that fight since you can’t increase cooldowns, and I was doing enough damage without the rule of two omicron benefits; the speeds just didn’t line up well. I suppose the extra damage from the omicron could help kill her before she gets her ultimate, but I don’t believe that that’s realistic. The extra health and protection probably isn’t a huge deal either since (provided he isn’t ambushed) he should survive the ult anyways. Who knows though. There will be more data points in the future, but the ambushed timing does seem to be the biggest distinguishing factor between win or loss. I just wanted to make sure people knew this wasn’t something you can throw at Leai for an easy win whenever you want.

@@v3prhunterkiller828 I tried it and it didn’t work. He still got ambushed, but that wasn’t even what ended up being the problem in the first place. It was Captain Rex on the team, so I suppose I may have to try it against another Leai comp, but that’s the only one that’s within striking distance in arena for me rn. Does this only work consistently in Grand Arena? I’m confused that you’d say that she stands no chance, since that clearly isn’t the case.
Edit: I tried it again and it failed again, but it was against the crex variant.

looks like they could take the confusion route again with his AOE, it did infact, dispell the aoe and then dispell all the buffs but it seems the damage was still dodged so i could see them taking that route again even though they shouldnt.
The thing is that the ability text clearly states that the damage is dealed AFTER dispelling twice. So it shouldn't be affected by foresight. Theh got the order of operations wrong in the coding, but knowing CG they will say "it's intended" and will just change the text.
So tell me if i missed something:
- Announce a new character for conquest, its Bane.
- Before he cones out, buff him.
- He kills the newest GL
- CG says they are investigating

Ahh, the good old: "It's not a bug, it's a feature." approach to solve things.
Explanation for Bane's "bugged" special ability:
I don't think the ability is bugged. Because the ability itself can be dodged. And while dispelling buffs twice, it is still a single attack, that can be dodged. It is similar to why SLKR's basic attack doesn't hit a target with foresight although he deals damage twice.
This double buff dispell is against buffs that emerge, after others are dispelled, like the Zeta on old Ben's taunt, whose Zeta says: "gains taunt for 2 turns. After losing this taunt, gain taunt for one turn."
There can definitely be an argument being made that this is quite silly and useless, since I can't recall any other abilities that have such an effect, but I am sure it works perfectly as intended on old Ben's taunt.
About to unlock Leia ....
So Xaereth pointed out that in the omicron that’s getting nerfed all of the effects of the omicron only apply to bane and therefore cannot persist after death so that line totally makes no sense at all unless the kit is not working as intended and I feel like that’s proof that they’re just nerfing him and not “fixing the wording” or whatever

If you read the unique ability, you have to come to the conclusion that the persistent effect applies to the whole ability, since the omi bonus is for Bane only, so there is no point for those effects to persist.
But they gotta come out and blame the community for being stupid...

They threw that sentence in there “persists after banes defeated” was probably intended to get a panic buy on that omnicron

That sentence was put in there for 1 thing, confusion. A very logical person and basic understanding of how this game works can easily determine that. There is literally no point in saying a characters stats remain upon defeat. The characters dead, how does bonus stats help a dead character? It doesn’t.

ahnald you didn't answer during the stream, but you didn't see a bug in the initial testing... if you look at the upgrade tier for the omicron, that is where it showed "these effects persist even after bane is defeated" it's only on the omicron, whether it makes sense or not
so there was never a bug in initial testing with it
so really i see this as 1 of 2 things: cg literally put it there even though it does nothing, OR, they used the misunderstanding of where it is applied being seen as a "bug" to take it out of the kit because they saw he was overperforming against GLs as it is.

This is really disappointing, I'm going to unlock bane next month after buying CP+ for 3 months to get him as a replacement to Wat, and now he's effectively not a replacement, just good on his own.

It's not just an order of operations problem. Something about foresight specifically is messing up the skill

Although this is typical CG, I'm I'm too concerned about using him with SEEP. He reminds me of Talon's unique ability where she feeds good stats to other Sith, and to make her survive she Currently has 115K health and decent Armor.
I'll just do the same with bank, get his health and Armor as high as possible at R8/9 and it should St do not job, but I'm no ignoring his solo potential.

Also wouldn’t he potentially be buffed in the future because his AoE buff dispel doesn’t work correctly. And they can’t say that there is a miscommunication because it says “he dispels buffs twice THEN deals damage twice”. The key work being THEN meaning the damage happens after the dispel which should mean all foresights should be gone so he can deal damage. We know it can work because little Ahsoka’s basic dispels and deals damage through foresight.
They could fix that by just saying the attack cannot be avoided.

Great! No, no way I'm going to buy that this was "intentional design", basically they already stated it before Bane released that the 100% TM was not working as intended and it was working as a bonus turn instead, and they just updated the text of the ability itself.
I mean, come on CG, don't try to fool us, the ENTIRE omicron affects ONLY Bane, why would we care about the effects that affect Bane will persist after he is defeated? You even hear how ridiculous that sounds? What is the purpose of a DEFEATED character to still have those stats!
If he is supposed to be SEE lifter, therefore, no revives are intended, therefore, that omicron part is USELESS, and even if the revives are granted, how those help at all?
Even if they refunded the omicron, I would still apply it, that bonus turn is the big deal, but why oversell the ability doing what IS not supposed to do.
He syphoned Leia's max health away, that's why he didn't die from her ult, i didn't realize until now

@@kanjiklub1643you're half right, he did use Siphon to increase his max health, but Leia's max health couldn't be reduced because she was a GL. So his health increased whioe Leia's health stayed the same

Depends what you want to achieve. To beat JMK you need SEE+Bane
Can you reliably beat JMK though? You have two turns until the insta kill comes online but then you get the healing immunity and hitting under protection… feels very finicky at best. Generally it seems keep Bane as his own team
You can beat jmk if cat would use one shot on see. Otherwise it is not possible, regardless of omicron on bane's unique. Bane is just too slow.

We have to conclude that Conquest units will either be "meh" and CG will leave them along, or really good and CG will make them more "meh." So, why the Conquest grind, then?
Honestly, I think CG should just fix the issue for Darth Bane’s double buff dispel, foresight, & damage. Also, if the text about effects persisting after Bane’s death really was confusing, why put it there in the first place?! If it’s really meant for the Omicron, move it to the Omicron ability tier!
Honestly, I think the whole persis thing is meant for upcoming DC, which will grant Bane Hatred.
So when he revives, he keeps his bonuses.
Won't work under SEE lead or Under his own lead unless the revive is unpreventable.

I 1000% DISAGREE! Bane is not a mini-GL. He is a GL, probably the best GL we have, and about 100x easier to obtain (for those who got the red crate). Lltke
Lore accurate outcome and a very bueno moment to behold. GL Leia and Co. got nothing on a ultra famous and successful Lord of the Sith! Hope this won't effect SEE+Bane combo! Bane + 1 Stih beating 5 man GL is too OP. Sad to see it going away, but we all remember the Traya Omicron, and how Darth Nihilus lead with Darth Traya and Darth Sidious beat a 5 man Lord Failure team with full HP and protection! That was OP too. Nerf will surely come. I just hope it won't effect the intended buff up to SEE! Great Show! I am proud of Release Bane! >:3

@@obitouchiha4739 I really hope so! SWgoH-wise, Bane should be the Lifter to SEE! Darth Bane('s omicron) doing too well, is Darth Traya's omicron doing too well all over again. When an undersized Conquest character can beat GL 5 man teams, that's simply too OP. Bane was advertised as a SEE lifter, that will be competitive with all GLs. I am very okay with that. Bane being OP with just another and any high-relic'd sith is just wrong. Defeats the purpose to be used as a SEE lifter!
