Next time you drop the pan put the yellow trans filter. It's a higher flow type. Everyone install those. The one you have is more restrictive cause it only feeds oil from one hole.
Thanks man!
Glad to see you got the trans shifting well again. Them stock govener solinoids are junk. Iv got the borg warner too and it works wonders.
Thank You! It’s nice to be able to drive it again
I noticed this is a 6 speed manual to a 4 speed auto ,ok seems like you got it working good . Me I going from a 4 speed auto to a g56 . I don't hot rod and I just want a towing truck with smaller gear splits than 750 rpms . If you want a hot rod I think a little looser convertor to get up on the charger then use lock up . That's not my cup of tea but I think that how the guys do it . . If you decide to do that I would not use locked shifts . I recommend unlocking and shift and lock up . Good luck
Yes it was a 6 speed truck just wanted to do some different
I think you can also use a filter for a 727 on this transmission for I was told more flow
Still working good
So far so good. I need to write a tune suitable for my truck.
I did the same thing thought it was borg Warner and it 100% wasn’t I should of known by the price 🤷🏼♂️
We live and learn.....
Did you have to reflash your ECM? I think I heard something about how ECM handles idle that could cause a rough loping idle when going from a standard to auto. Think it might have to do with the drag caused by the torque converter. Considering doing this exact swap and just want to know what to expect. Thanks.
No I didn’t have any issues and did not do a reflash
Those are some weird shift points for sure. Seams like you are up against the stall in the converter.
It’s working but not quite right for my truck
I run dnz manifold with gm solenoid. Ive also ran borge on stock manifold.
How do you like this transmission now that it shifts.
I'd like to watch tge tac as it shifts through tge gears .
Again thanks for shareing vids.
Im still gathering parts for mine
Drove it through the winter and it did great! Thank you for watching!!!
@ChadMyers73
Thank you for shareing
Sorry if this question was already asked but was that the only issue that accrued after getting on the road
Yes this was my only issue
I must not have seen the beginning videos. What year is your truck? Why did you change from 6spd stick to auto? What year 47re did you rebuild for it? Where did you get the 47re?
My truck is a 02, because everyone is doing a manual swap and I wanted to be different, not sure on the year of the trans, received it in the trade from my NV5600.
On 16:40 right where you want to mount the module, I saw a relay on the firewall where that goes mine is disconnected, it looks like the previous owner just cut the wires.. can you tell me where it goes? Thanks or part number
That is my AirDog relay.
@@ChadMyers73 so this truck used to have that I guess.. but not anymore.. this is the only thing I notice when I bought the truck, when I get home at night. So next day I try to turn on the truck but I it was dead, and I found out they connect the diesel or fuel pump direct to the battery, so what I did I check all the diagrams and those pick up trucks had a internal relay in the fuse box but I isn't working the way it should and a lot of people think is the pump... Soo I connect the pump from ignition switch using a relay, and is been performing well since 10 months now.
Yeah it’s sucks buying someone else’s Headache
First thing I noticed on the first test drive is the TPS bouncing all over the place
That’s just a variance between your foot on the pedal and an electronica sensor
@@ChadMyers73 I could see it varying by a percent or so, but this looked like a heck of a lot.. If you have more glitches at some point I'd definitely look closely at it, maybe add a capacitor between the TPS signal and ground to reduce interference..
at least it's working now!
Sup chad ... You make it work so it was the sensor and selenoid as well..?
Yes it works!
@@ChadMyers73 so should I replace those before they fail, just like a maintenance? Of course replacing it with fresh oil, filter etc etc... What do you think, cuz the previous owner didn't do anything it all and I been putting money in to it..
can t help just watching but its a life .
love the motor sound
Thanks for watching!
About to diy my 48re oil change! Any advice on gasket etc? Would appreciate it thx
Check out Cascade Transmissions they offer a whole kit. They are on UA-cam also.
@@ChadMyers73 I will thx
I changed the fluid & filter in my 02 Ram gas 46re, and I found that it had a reusable trans pan gasket in it from the factory. Doesn't need sealers, & doesn't leak a drop. I highly recommend it.
