I have soo much to say about this album later but firstly the lyrics for 514 were written by wonho (along with the rappers doing their own parts ofc!). I think he wrote it wondering how monsta x will grow til the end, how they'll experience both good and bad times together with their fans. Then few years after this song was released, he ended up leaving to protect the group.. Everything about this song is melancholically sweet and sincere to me. I highly recommend you to watch the special clip for it. They were so young, it really dawns on me how much they've grown yet still retain their humbleness to their fans.
514 is about Monsta X and Monbebe’s relationship and how they know that one day Monbebe will get older and move on, but they hope that Monbebe will always remember them and look back on their memories with Monsta X with happiness 😭😭😭😭. I love and hate this song because it’s so bittersweet. No matter how old I get, I will always love Monsta X and will NEVER forget them 😢
But if you listen carefully to all of them there are songs where others don’t have that many lines either. It depends on what they are trying for. You can’t say he had almost zero lines he would also be in the background vocals too. He get some usually you hear more of Kihyun and Shownu.
I'll Be There is written and produced by Wonho. There is a full vlog of him explaining his lyrics and how he chose the melody or the times he scrapped and rearranged everything. It is a little emotional. Wonho now is known to be very open in his love for Wenee but back then he had trouble saying I love you so he wrote I'll be there for Monbebe his own way of saying i love you. He would say "I know that you love me but i want to hear it again, so what do you think? Do you like me? I like it." Something long those lines is how the song goes. Like a cheeky i know you like me and i like that instead of a I love/like you too.
Translating Korean to English can be tricky because Korean uses a lot of metaphors and cultural references that don't always translate well into English. For 5:14 I feel like it’s to fans. I think they have some stages, Ready or Not have one, i really like that song and YES i see that Kihyun vision💯
