Andrea, hi 👋 i have a question: how can I buy for one month only? I want to try them first and see if they work. But it seems like I only have the choice to buy every month, or three months or six months. I don't want my card to be charged automatically. Help, please and thank you 😊

@@Rafaela20242hi, I was wondering the same. If you read further down in the description it says there is the option to cancel at any time. You would probably want to order the one month supply and then cancel before the month is over.

I just found you a couple of days ago. I am 61 years old. My children are in their early thirties and late twenties. They are all out of the house. Enjoy this time with your children! I was a stay at home Mom and loved the same things you do! You are a breath of fresh air! God Bless you! Stay true to yourself.

Lilacs are my favorite as well. The scent is calming. There is something about their structure that is peaceful. True, they do not last once cut, but you can dry them and put them in a jar. Add them to potpourri or top a burning candle to get subtle hints of lilac💕

My husband & I just spent 10 days in Ireland for our 40th anniversary. I was so reminded of your home and the charm of the way you decorate when we were in homes there. I was able to thrift several items to bring home. I love the style of your home and the way if feels so welcoming and homey.

This video is what I needed. We just watched our daughter graduate high school and I’m so proud of her but it’s hard. It’s not just that but my daddy passed unexpectedly three and half years ago and there has been so much change. Her graduation was weird. I feel like I just graduated school myself. I came home and thought I need to watch something and decompress and your video was my pick. It was so enjoyable. 😊

I grew up in Ohio and the Lilacs is my all time favorite. I have lived in Georgia for the past 35 years and unfortunately you can’t have lilacs down here because it doesn’t get cold enough in the winter, but I have fallen in love with the gardenias and I do love azaleas and hydrangeas are beautiful in spring and summer. ❤❤❤

I love home making as well. Your home and yard are lovely! My husband loves strawberry rhubarb crisp and pie! Enjoy! ❤

I live in north central Ohio and our growing/blooming season began a but early for us this year, first I had about 5 varieties of daffodils, mixed with red and yellow tulips, then had lavender lilacs come in, and now I have bright pink double centered "peonies" or as my grandmother called them "pineys". These were all here when we moved in 6 years agao, but some are just beginning to really come into bloom in the past couple of years... as for perennials, when we moved in I bought a clematis vine, and I have planted a sedum called autumn joy, and t=in some parts of the country they are called "rain downs" because they planted them at corners of their homes where the rain gutters drained...They have a purple flower that you can bring in and dry and they make a lovely floral in the winter. We also planted variegated hostas.... I want to plan so much more for my yard..... but it takes time

Try using cardboard to suppress weeds. I’ve used it and it’s a game changer! In my experience it’s better than weed fabric. Your yard is beautiful and idyllic.

I heard the way you keep a plant from taking over, is to plant it in a pot and plant the pot in the ground. This only works if the plant spreads thru underground roots, not from above the soil. I haven't had the chance to try it, but I hear it works.

When I was a florist, for the more woodier stems we would recut the stem and then cut up into the end of stem so the bottom was split - do this just before putting in the vase. This, I was told, lets more water up into the stem. The two garden beds up by the gate would be so beautiful! Oh and for the dryer vent maybe placing a piece of statuary in front of it would deflect some of the heat so you could plant in front of it then.

Oh, I miss lilacs! Last year during a storm, my neighbor lost a BIG branch off his tree, and it fell into my lilac bush. My husband cut it way back, and it had a lot of new growth on it this year but no flowers. Hoping next year I get some. I agree, they never last long-just like my Lily of the Valley-which smell so good, too!! I just love Spring. Everything is blooming and green! While I love Summer, the heat can turn the grass a bit dry and not look as lush and I don't have a lot of flowers that bloom during that season. Good thing my crops are usually being harvested!

My soulmate has been gone now for 23 years...but the look on his face when he got home and smelled something I baked ,was worth every minute I spent making it. He got home late and would always have a big glass of milk and a treat before bed. Your lilacs are beautiful, inside and out. I would love to be able to clip from my garden .

  • @Faithb73
    @Faithb73 11 днів тому

You can get lilacs to last longer if you split the cut stem up the middle a few inches and smack them to flatten out just a little. It’ll help the intake of water. Lilacs peonies and tulips are my favorites but I can’t grow tulips. Squirrels and rabbit and deer love them😂

Hi Andrea, I completely agree with you about the lilacs. I’ve grown my own cut flowers for the past few years. Ever since, store-bought flowers almost seem sterile and boring! There is a wildness to flowers that is lost in the way that they harvest for mass sales. Beautiful ❤

Hi Andrea, I loved seeing the outside of your home so thank you for sharing that. When I was a kid, my Aunt had so many Lilacs. It was like a privacy fence. My father used to cut some off and put them on our kitchen table. Trouble is whenever I was drinking milk, it tasted like lilacs which I didn’t like. Working outside is a never ending task. You pull weeds, cut grass, plant flowers and water them. This year we are getting plenty of rain so we don’t have to water. Best part of the video was the shot with you and your boys. Thank you so much for posting this.

One thing we like to use for raised beds is Castle Rock stacking stone concrete blocks.. You can get them in several colors. The things I like about them is that, they dont. rot. I dont have to worry about anything leaching into the soil. I can move them if I dont like where they are at or the shape of bed.. (we do not cement ours in place for changes we make later). The other thing you might think about adding is a arch panel over the two beds at the side of path. that way you can grow lovely roses, clematis, or cup and saucer vines. Just some ideas. yes the stone is a bit more costly. but maybe you can find them on marketplace used.

I love this video! Your home, yard, gardens, and dessert are so beautiful! We live in Texas where it’s already in the 80’s and 90s. The hostas here don’t grow quite that large, but are still gorgeous. In the spring, I love to bring in Indian paintbrush, coreopsis, and wisteria. We are in north East Texas, and so bluebonnets are not as prevalent here. But we enjoy what we have for as long as we can. Thank you for sharing, God Bless, and Happy Spring!! 🌺

Lilacs are lovely indoors due to the scent, but you're right. They don't last long. Makes us appreciate them more. 🥰 As for the dryer vent. If you do lots of laundry, don't plant anything close to it. It will dry out the soil around the plants and the plants themselves. You could, however, put something in front of it to redirect the hot air in another direction. Your talented husband can figure something out, I'm sure. 🙂

Weeds in rocks are the worst. We have a large area in our yard that we put barrier down then rocks on top about 20 years ago. Ahh. The arrival of spring is so great after a long winter! Any of the mints-peppermint, spearmint, lemon balm (aka melissa), etc.-would grow easily. The only problem would be keeping them from spreading too much, like your mallow does. But…you’d have such lovely tea options and they make beautiful little fragrant cuttings in the house.
Keep up the good work in the yard.

There is a lilac bush at my parents' house, with a plum tree growing out of the middle. Lilacs have the best smell, but they are definitely so short-lived :(

Love this warm and inspiring video! Thanks for creating these calming videos.
For those raised bed spots, if you are looking for a low maintenance plant, German chamomile is delicate, beautiful, so so easy, and can be harvested for tea. I would highly recommend it!

Most really good landscaping companies don’t use them a lot because they area short bloom. But I love them also. Your home is lovely. Weeds can live everywhere.

Hi, I enjoy watching your video. There are a couple of things I want to comment about from what I've learned. I don't know how old is your home, the older it is the more susceptible to mold in the basement when people plant anything too close to the walls of the house outside. Gutter drainage too close to the house brings mold all over the walls. The solution to the problem if you ever come across it, make a drench around the perimeter of the house to create drainage away from the house so all the rainwater and any water would stay away from the walls of the basement. Linen gravel is ideal. An expert can explain better. 2. You mentioned dryer vent. People don't know this I just learned. Vents have to be cleaned every 6 months to a year depending on the age of the home and the dryer usage. If not cleaned, clogged vents are fire Hazzard and clothes do not dry the way they are supposed to. People think it's the dryer, most likely is the clogged vent. Another words the clear the perimeter of the house from plants drainage gutters the dryer mold free your house will be. Don't take my word for it ask the experts.

It’s always tricky with plants to find the fine line between those that are easy to grow and yet don’t become weeds. The older I get the narrower that line gets!

Wanted to let you know per one of your videos, you talked about Oak Island and Southhport, NC. We just returned from there. I had never heard about these places, so checked it out and went down there. We are from Indiana. Thank you for talking about these 2 places. Want to go back someday❤

Loooove lilacs!! With lilacs try smashing them with hammer or cut the stem in the middle lengthwise, so they can drink water better. Lilacs have woodsy stem and need lots of water and they don’t get enough when you just simply cut it like any other flower❤ love your channel!
