Brings back memories when my daughters went to preschool.
I understand the emotions . I was crying myself off on my son’s first day at nursery. And the worst part is that he was 1 year old and he couldn’t express himself but look at me now . I send him to nursery and just want him to stay there for more hours 😂. A now I am looking forward for him to start school in September but still emotional
In Germany parents are not allowed to hide and run off during the settling in in the kindergarten. You have to say goodbye to the child and tell them you will be back to pick them up regardless if they are crying or not. This is to make sure the child doesn't feel they were abandoned

Was your loving daughter excited to go to school?
I felt the same way when my kids had their first day of school. I cried like a baby. In my mind it's their first step of independence from parents.

Me here who still feels sad as I drop my 16yr daughter at boarding school, knowing I wont be seeing her for 6 weeks. The other day she tells us, you guys go home now, av got lots to do, bye!....how now?
