Yeah a "Cult Classic" is something that had a small following when it was relevant, and gained a larger following afterwards. Ducktails, on the other hand, literally shaped the future of animation and was one of the most influential cartoons of all time.
Haze Stratos And it basically started Disney's duck obsession(yes there were Disney duck characters before but look at how many duck characters and shows were made during and after duck tales, Mighty Ducks the animated series for example who were literal ducks).
Correction, for the 2nd time ever. Netflix released the Voltron Reboot in 2016. ;P But yes, the new Ducktales is an outstanding series. I have the entire first season (sold in 2 volumes) on Amazon. Considering how high quality it is, from start to finish, I don't feel out of line saying it is the best season of any animated show I have ever seen. And I've been watching cartoons since the 80s.
It would have been cool to see Mickey cameo for at least one episode. But yeah, Darkwing Duck deserves the credit. Now all we need are the gargoyles, Chip n' Dale, Max, and Baloo, and we'll be happy campers.

I LOVE the reboot! Besides the addition of Donald to the main cast, David Tennant delivers a great Scrooge. The art style is good, it's different from the original, but it gives the show its own look and feel.
@@watertommyz Alan Young was Scottish too 😂 No joke. He had a Scottish accent for years and tried his best to hide it and sometimes it didn't work. If you go watch clips of Mister Ed, you can hear it slip every once in a while.
David Tennant does a good Scrooge but Alan Young was Uncle Scrooge. Plus the creator of the character said that if Scrooge ever had a voice, he wanted it to sound like Alan Young
Most people hate the art style. The show is supposed to be more based off the comics than the original show guys. They wanted the reboot to be original as well. Remember the comics became long before the tv show. So the reboot is going back to the bottom of the roots.
Breaking News: It's okay for people to like something you don't. Move on with your life. I was thrilled with how well the pilot was put together. This is going to be an incredibly successful reboot.
I can understand why someone may not like this show but the people in the comments pretend they're the only people in the universe correct and everyone else is wrong. If you're going to hate something, at least be respectful and put opinions that would actually help the creators. Nobody is going to listen to you complain.
Maybe Goofy also (he's actually older than Donald by two years, fun fact), but not Scrooge. Maybe Pluto instead. Either way, we all know Minnie and Daisy are the queens, and the one who deserves to also be a king is Oswald. Plus, can we all agree Paul Rudish's Mickey is literally the best cartoon currently airing?
Been watching the Marathon and really liking it, also noticed they dropped the names of the cities of Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, and Saint Canard, so Darkwing appearing seems likely, and good to know some more characters are confirmed, as hoping Fenton would get to put on his armor again.
This show is such a hit. it hits so many marks perfectly. I don't think even a hand full of people would argue that David Tennant is a good choice for Scrooge.
I watched the original a few years ago. I have been following the reboot. The reboot is so much better. I am loving it and happy the second season is lit already. I just hope they don't drag it out like some shows tend to do. I hope they hit the story arcs and then wrap it up.
Rebooted Webby is hardly a tomboy. She's adventurous and socially awkward. She was taught both survivial and domestic skills by her grandmother and balances them out naturally. I think she's a successful neutral character without coming off as too feminine nor too masculine.
I wonder if the series will remake the Magic Lamp movie? If they do, who will voice the Genie? I vote for John DiMaggio, Rob Paulsen, Jack MacBrayer (best known for voicing Wander and Fix-It Felix,) Jeremy Shada or Greg Cipes. I also hope they'll cast a great and/or familiar voice for Magica
I really like some of the takes they had on returning characters: namely Duckworth returning from the grave as a badass ghost butler, Lin's take on Gizmoduck, Magica's return to power, and Darkwing starting out as a TV show that Drake Mallard then turns into a reality
Wait, the cast includes the actors of the 10th Doctor, Sadie(Steven Universe)+Sarah Murphy(Milo Murphy's Law), & Jean-Ralphio(Parks & Rec)?! YAYYYYYYY!!!
Storywise, the reboot is better. Also, huey, Dewey and Louie aren't just cardboard cutouts of the same character and webby is actually a good character.
3:44 lets be honest, webby is way more „badass“ ^^ i like it 👍 and it fits more into the 21th century :) I’m 30 years old right now and i love the new style and tales :)

3:21 So far I've only seen the first episode, but I gotta say, I like the new Webby much, MUCH more than the original. (She reminds me of Gosalyn from DARKWING DUCK)
Now this is a reboot worth watching! If the reboot is going to be the exact same as the original, then it's not worth it. But Disney has taken the essence of the original Ducktales and have rebooted it into a new series while keeping the same kind of feel from the original series, but making sure that it is it's own series. Can't wait for more Ducktales - Whoo-Hooh!
Set of Kids who share the same birthday who start living in with their Great Uncle who loves money, Adventurous Girl who will be looking to make the most out of any adventure that she is on, and a long-running great mystery that relates to a long-lost family member of the main protagonists. GREAT SCOOT! THIS IS THE SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR TO GRAVITY FALLS!!! (Webby is even voiced by the same voice actress who voiced Mable. The parallels are strong with this one.)
I actually like the reboot so far. the shorts weren't that great but the actual hour long premier was really good. im excited to see when Darkwing Duck is going to appear
1. The animation is obviously better. 2. Why do peopleì want adult voices for the kids 3. People need to take off their nostalgia glasses and realize the intro IS THE SAME JUST DIFFERENT VOICE ACTORS. Thank you
EpicDragonzs It isn't so much as wanting adult voices for the kids but rather wanting distinct voices. They were voiced by an adult in the old show too.
I watched the premiere and it looks pretty good. Different but good. Also it looks like they may be going for a more linear story arc rather than a bunch of stand alone episodes like the original. This is a good choice because it encourages people to watch regularly and see the continuity.
I barely watched the original series, but I'm a sucker for cartoons with anthropomorphic animal characters. I barely got through #10 and I already am sold on watching the new and old ducktales

I've read Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck magazine/comic for more than 20 years and can't be happier to hear that Ducktales is back. Hopefully Disney will incorporate more European stories than American one, because these past 10 years, the European and particularly Italian studio brought so many good gems. Well Mickey Mouse needs to step outside this time, Carl Bark hates him and there are only handful stories of the Donald and Mickey in the past decade, most are very long stories (4-6 chapter which can be 2-3 episodes for a single story).
honestly, if this reboot proves to be a success (silly thing to say, of course it will) they should make a spin-off adapting the complete "Life and times of Scrooge McDuck", few people know, but this anthology is simply EPIC.

And guess what, they didnt even try! Imagine what the reboot would've been if they had tried, what will be there?
Saw the premier, I loved how they combined both old and new. It's also nice to have the characters be fleshed out more, especially the nephews.
I couldn't care less that Mickey won't be in the show, but I'm hype for Darkwing Duck (and hopefully Gosalyn too!)
YES! Don't worry Mickey we still love you, at lest I do.
