I wasn't alive to see the original but I love this reboot. It makes me nostalgic for something I never saw.

Yeah a "Cult Classic" is something that had a small following when it was relevant, and gained a larger following afterwards.
Ducktails, on the other hand, literally shaped the future of animation and was one of the most influential cartoons of all time.
Haze Stratos And it basically started Disney's duck obsession(yes there were Disney duck characters before but look at how many duck characters and shows were made during and after duck tales, Mighty Ducks the animated series for example who were literal ducks).

But yes, the new Ducktales is an outstanding series. I have the entire first season (sold in 2 volumes) on Amazon. Considering how high quality it is, from start to finish, I don't feel out of line saying it is the best season of any animated show I have ever seen. And I've been watching cartoons since the 80s.

Saw the premier, I loved how they combined both old and new. It's also nice to have the characters be fleshed out more, especially the nephews.

It would have been cool to see Mickey cameo for at least one episode. But yeah, Darkwing Duck deserves the credit. Now all we need are the gargoyles, Chip n' Dale, Max, and Baloo, and we'll be happy campers.

It's weird...they're both equally good to me. Though, I like that Tennant is actually scottish, so that adds a bit of consistency to the character.

@@watertommyz Alan Young was Scottish too 😂 No joke. He had a Scottish accent for years and tried his best to hide it and sometimes it didn't work. If you go watch clips of Mister Ed, you can hear it slip every once in a while.
David Tennant does a good Scrooge but Alan Young was Uncle Scrooge. Plus the creator of the character said that if Scrooge ever had a voice, he wanted it to sound like Alan Young

Most people hate the art style. The show is supposed to be more based off the comics than the original show guys. They wanted the reboot to be original as well. Remember the comics became long before the tv show. So the reboot is going back to the bottom of the roots.

I LOVE the reboot! Besides the addition of Donald to the main cast, David Tennant delivers a great Scrooge. The art style is good, it's different from the original, but it gives the show its own look and feel.

I can understand why someone may not like this show but the people in the comments pretend they're the only people in the universe correct and everyone else is wrong. If you're going to hate something, at least be respectful and put opinions that would actually help the creators. Nobody is going to listen to you complain.

Maybe Goofy also (he's actually older than Donald by two years, fun fact), but not Scrooge. Maybe Pluto instead. Either way, we all know Minnie and Daisy are the queens, and the one who deserves to also be a king is Oswald.

I saw the first episode(s). It is really good. Funny,clever and a great adventure with amamzing dialouge. David Tennant knocks it out of the park.
I watched the original a few years ago. I have been following the reboot. The reboot is so much better. I am loving it and happy the second season is lit already. I just hope they don't drag it out like some shows tend to do. I hope they hit the story arcs and then wrap it up.

Been watching the Marathon and really liking it, also noticed they dropped the names of the cities of Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, and Saint Canard, so Darkwing appearing seems likely, and good to know some more characters are confirmed, as hoping Fenton would get to put on his armor again.

Rebooted Webby is hardly a tomboy. She's adventurous and socially awkward. She was taught both survivial and domestic skills by her grandmother and balances them out naturally. I think she's a successful neutral character without coming off as too feminine nor too masculine.

This show is such a hit. it hits so many marks perfectly. I don't think even a hand full of people would argue that David Tennant is a good choice for Scrooge.

Storywise, the reboot is better. Also, huey, Dewey and Louie aren't just cardboard cutouts of the same character and webby is actually a good character.

Now this is a reboot worth watching! If the reboot is going to be the exact same as the original, then it's not worth it. But Disney has taken the essence of the original Ducktales and have rebooted it into a new series while keeping the same kind of feel from the original series, but making sure that it is it's own series. Can't wait for more Ducktales - Whoo-Hooh!

EpicDragonzs It isn't so much as wanting adult voices for the kids but rather wanting distinct voices. They were voiced by an adult in the old show too.
I guess they allow adult actors to voice kids is because they're often more experienced than child actors, I guess?

I really like some of the takes they had on returning characters: namely Duckworth returning from the grave as a badass ghost butler, Lin's take on Gizmoduck, Magica's return to power, and Darkwing starting out as a TV show that Drake Mallard then turns into a reality

The shift from adventure of the week type show to an overarching plot with an adventure of the week was a good change in Ducktales 2017.
Now I’m not one to judge before I’ve seen it, but going on artstyle and animation alone, the 2017 one has the ‘87 one beat my a long shot
