So rare and refreshing to watch a human being in the year 2021 take accountability for their bad behavior. Now the trick is for the rest of the world to say "oh you fucked up, but no worries you're generally a good dude" and move on without canceling anybody

I knew Stephen Amell would own his behaviour. He's a good guy and he's always honest. I love him for this reason, he's the best example for being wholly honest, flawed, imperfectly, perfect human. An example to every celebrity but really any human who's ashamed because they made a mistake.

I also like that he doesn't try to say apologizing is enough and that repairing that kind of thing is a long process. You see so many AITA posts where someone hurts someone a long time ago and thinks everything should be fine because it's been a few or ten years but they haven't done anything to make amends or understand why what they did caused the pain. In a way, I don't believe in apologizing because the truest apology is fixing yourself. Words are just words, but actions will still make you a better person down the line.

I know Arrow was only a tv show, but that training was real. He did most of his own fight scenes. It would have been bad. I’m so glad this didn’t ruin his career, And it ducks TMZ tried to make it seemed like a worser deal than it was. But TBH even when I read TMZ’s story, I still figured it went the way Stephen is explaining it here.
And I’m glad Stephen thought about how his life would turn if he did resist or gave a “Passive aggressive fuck off” it’s good to realise these things first before/instead of doing it.
I admire his honesty, and how he’s not turning it into a dramatic story.
    But I mean imagine this:
“Stephen Amell. Got very loud and ranted to his wife whilst intoxicated. Had to be told 3 times to leave a plane. Career ended!”

I feel for him in that he made a mistake, but who hasn't. Most of us plebs have probably done more heinous crap, it's just not posted on the internets for gawkers to see.

At the end of the day Stephen clearly drank too much and had a bad moment. That’s no excuse for his behaviour but it happens to everyone. At least he had the decency to hold his hands up and take accountability. He will look back on the incident for the rest of his days and be enormously embarrassed and ashamed, because that’s the kind of person he is. He knows he screwed up, but you have to respect him for admitting it and taking the consequences.

He handled it better then Alec Baldwin did being kicked off his plane for playing his stupid little iPhone game. We now now that the flight attendant literally dogged a bullet knowing Alec’s propensity for guns . Steven nailed it when you are privileged as an actor sometimes you blur the line between treated like a celebrity and believing that you are all important. You learn as a child you are not the center of the universe, but it is easy to forget when you are the lead in a tv series that centers around you. I am glad Steve learned from this

Everyone saying he’s a good guy for taking responsibility. Wtf. Putting everyone out because you’re angry at something that has nothing to do with anyone there. This guy is only owning up because he caught publicly, does not make him a good guy just another entitled celebrity everyone seems to make excuses for

Not just handle your liquor, handle your emotions. If you need to drink because you're upset, and then that's who you become, get some therapy, get your head straight.
