"Jurickson Store" line out of Seinfeld was epic, Scott! Such a great episode! and the baseball tie-in is George was at a front office meeting for the Yankees in that scene.
Love the show, and I totally get Scott's point about regression. Where I think there's a blind spot from what Scott said (and the panel overall) is with the types of leagues that many of us play. A lot of my leagues are head-to-head categories leagues with daily moves. In those cases, I'm totally cool with picking up Jurickson Profar and riding the train to a few match-up wins in the near future. If he starts to struggle, then I can drop him and pick up another hot player. The rant from Scott really only pertains to Roto leagues, especially those with weekly moves and limitations where you can't just keep swapping out players. I totally get keeping guys that are struggling in a Roto league because it will even out, but regression doesn't help if I keep losing match-ups now. It's hard to recover from being 0-5! Frank's info on where Profar is hitting in the lineup and the increase in average exit velocity was helpful. Just saying "he's Jurickson Profar" as analysis just doesn't help in most cases. I'd just like to see more recognition from Scott and Chris of the leagues where short-term approaches are crucial. Thanks!
By far the best Jurickson Profar podcast in the game.
Son of Phil Nevin gets me every time!!
Ok, so maybe I'm a biased Sox fan. But Wong is elevating the ball a lot as a righthanded hitter at Fenway. He's deceptively strong for his weight (apparently hits moonshots in bp) and can fly for a catcher. You guys used to say there was nothing there with Christian Vazquez and he had a couple relatively useful fantasy seasons. Just saying.
Seth Lugo needs a segment
Scott you've been wrong on Adolis Garcia for 4 years now I think we're past the point of you needing to admit youre wrong
Lol
You tell’m pal
I’d wax Scott in any fantasy league.
Boom roasted
lol this is only his 4th year… that is statistically impossible
Maybe Profar is just having a very…VERY late breakout lol I remember about a decade ago he was the number one prospect in baseball 😂 or at least one of the top prospects.
Thank you for finally discussing Acuna
Thank you Frank Scott and Chris
Love this trio, been watching for years. Guys, please tell CBS Sports to bring back the public head-to-head fantasy leagues. Even though the $ payouts were a ripoff, they were the best online games of anyone! The regular CBS leagues are still the best, too. Can't see why they would cut off that revenue stream for themselves.
I think they could help thier point by just saying "ride profar while he's hot, but don't drop X struggling player for him in 10 tm/12 tm/5 OF etc". I would drop X player for him and watch the WW for other breakouts. You should churn through the bottom of your roster.
Finally some respect for Steven Kwan. He is just a solid #3 or #4 outfielder that you put in your lineup and then forget about it.
Man the hate on Profar 😭 I hope he keeps it up 😅
Tommy Pham has/had vision issues for stretches that would make his overall numbers less appealing but he seemed really serviceable last year.
Last season I sold high on Bryce Elder... did a good job on that...
Scott: "If you're hitting to right center [in Boston] you're hitting off the Monster." Huh??? When was the Green Monster moved from left field?
Seems like Kyle Tucker is rarely discussed. The guy is hitting around .300 with 7 or 8 HR's, 20 RBI and 20 Runs with 5 steals and less than a 20% K rate. The guy is 27 years old and he should be considered a fantasy stud.
He is? And they don’t talk about guys that are 100% rostered, typically. Unless they’re notable for having a big night. There are tons of guys having great seasons but they’re not going to mentioned because they’re already rostered. What reason do they have to talk about them?
Mason Miller hasn’t been discussed in weeks and he’s arguably the best closer we have seen in a very long time 😂
@TheModerateExtremist448 Mason Miller gets mentioned at the end everytime he gets a save. They literally spoke about him for over 5 mins yesterday lol
He's an Astro
@@TheModerateExtremist448
It was more the discussion in the video about how the Astros aren't playing well that I was referring to. They mentioned that Altuve and Pena were doing well but Tucker just seems to get glossed over or overlooked entirely by most channels.
@@steveelsholz5297
Lol, normally I would say yep, he's an Astro and a lot of people aren't talking about them BUT this was a discussion about the Astros' woes and problems and the few players that are playing well.
You should do a show about player’s stat cast pages, like the ones all red. I recently seen Nimmo page and all Red! Show me those players thanks good luck everyone
Ranger Suarez’ most interesting stat is a 1.64 post season era
Tommy Pham had surgery to help his vision last year and went off. Could explain why he underwhelmed in the years prior and has looked decent since
Reynaldo!! I've been rooting for this guy for years! There is no one in the entire league more likely to be traded than Mason Miller. Phillies? Cubs?
Robot Scott is GOAT’d! 😂
How dare you not think that Suarez will win the Cy Young this year!!
Interesting discussion on Pham.... I think something should be clarified that when you discuss players to remind people to go check your rankings... so they don't drop Jackson merrill for tommy pham? eh?
Do you three have these guys on your terms? I hope so, you sure talk about them a lot
Picking on Chris Towers a bit on this pod... sorta... He said "Nobody has the ceiling of what Ronald Acuna did last year", um yes one player DOES, his name? ELLY DE LA CRUZ. That should have been inserted in there quickly as a small drop (just for accuracy sakes), but everything else he continued to say regarding Acuna was SPOT ON. ;)
I’m like 95% certain the towers dude was off Elly in pre-szn or something. Always seems annoyed when he’s brought up, tries to downplay his start to this szn any chance he gets
@@jtM2832 lots of goofy experts were... And right now every single one of the regrets it... I think in some ways they might be the cause of why there are too many Elly haters out there!!!
@@jtM2832 like for instance I was just listening to the rotowire pod and Jeff Erickson (I think thats who it was) was saying he has zero shares of Elly and same with the other host... Lol. Yet generally they do have plenty of other useful knowledge. Doesn't mean everything they say is bad, but it sure as heck was a HUGE miss.
I think Winn is the new #1 SP on the Giants. He looks the best and has had a great season so far. Hopefully he's not a Bryce Eldridge 😅
I like Imanaga. But figure he has to come back to earth to some degree. Traded Imanaga and Bogaerts for Seager in a ten-team points league. Thoughts?
Just watched the Cubs vs Mets final play, Alonso was safe by a mile
Gotta agree with Frank completely on how things sound with Gerrit Cole. The Yankees always play games with injuries but last week they said he could be throwing off of a mound this week. Now they are saying he's continuing with long throwing and they won't even comment on Cole's (lack of) progress. It sounds like Cole isn't coming back this year unless the Yankees need him in September for a run.
A lot of hate towards profar 👀
Hope he has the best season of his career…
in no trade leagues what to do with players drafted rnd 1-6 who are batting 200 and just failing or hold and cross fingers
The Profar Episode
Wow Scott with the Seinfeld reference!
Frank: I've never seen an episode
How about Eric Fedde. Chicago W.S. pitcher he was available all over waiver wire. His stats are great! Also Josh H. Smith is available on waiver wire utility player Texas Rangers.
Eric Fede is a good scoop.
What's up with Trevor Williams?
Just traded for Acuna, not stoked to hear about his power disappearing
Are we giving up on Detmers now with the Trout injury? How much support can the Angels give Detmers w/o Trout?
There's more to detmers than just a win stat.
@@slip6699 100% agree, although Lodolo dows look tempting over Detmers. Appreciate the response.
"An hour and a half of my rankings is just staring at OF wondering why it's so bad" -Chris Towers... Pretty hyperbolic sir... Just try ranking one at a time... step by step slowly getting there.... (that's what I did in the NBA). Don't look at an insurmountable tough task as a massive difficulty, just take one step at a time, one player at a time.. Hope this helps! :)
10 team H2H Points:
- Julio, Scherzer & Edwin Diaz
for
- Seager, Nathaniel Lowe & Arozarena
who is winning this trade 👀
The Julio grouping if you're talking about ROS. It's a bit hard to make a more direct comparison as it's 3 hitters versus 1 hitter + 2 pitchers.
@@Redbaron9495 i currently have the Julio grouping. but i need bats. my rotation is solid & i have Bobby Miller, Senga & Max on the IL.
Colton Cowser or Andy Pages?
It''s close...but watching their ABs....I prefer Pages slightly more.
Re: Adell, the elephant in the room these three aren't addressing is that Adell's defense is still awful.
With Trout's bat out, the Halos will obviously find a way to get Adell's bat in the lineup every day, his lousy defense notwithstanding. Their offense isn't even good with Trout.
@@sethmann6397
Taylor Ward will have to carry the offense.
How on earth does Scott have connection issues every single episode, for like the past 3 years
I think his grandmother's living room, which is where he films from, is still on dial-up. If you listen carefully, you can hear AOL connecting in the background.
@@adambarnes4191😂😂
AEV is either useful or it's not you can't cite it as the reason a young guy is breaking out and then ignore it when you don't want to believe in it. I tend to agree with Scott that profar is just on a month-long hot streak but if improved AEV is not a skills improvement then it should never be spoken on the podcast again.
hmmm, last year we had a terrible "glob", this year seems like we have a "very attractive glob" sorta?
5x5 12tm h2h would you trade away Houck for Arozarena? Need batting help but will be really help?
Arozarena is not much help!
I dont think scott is one to admit hes wrong on anyone lol
I don't buy into Profar but I also don't buy into the idea that average EV automatically goes up when a player is on a hot streak (or vice versa). Where does Scott get that idea from?
Yeah that confused me.
I think he's trying to capture something like a hot shooter getting nothing but net when everything is going well analogy.
Agree. AEV is either useful or it's not. It's intellectually dishonest to cite it when it makes your argument and discard it when it doesn't.
If a player is hitting well it kind of goes hand in hand that their average exit velocity goes up. Unless they are just hitting bloop singles the entire time but my guess is ya luck gunna run out much quicker hitting bloop singles.
@@Joos-676
Like Steven Kwan and his bloop singles. So frustrating for the opposition.
Im not too critical about the show, everyone is going to be wrong once in a while, you have to take what they say and then apply your own reasoning as well.
It would be nice if someone on my team could get a hit
Wasted way to much time talking about profar. Ride him while he's hot is all you gotta do
I’ve definitely liked the pod less the more these guys lambaste the audience like fickle children, all because 2 guys tweeted them about Profar. Yeah. Everyone knows he’s not that good. Also: you rarely admit when you’re wrong. Mitch Keller? What’s the underlying skill supporting the top 30 preseason rank- swStr has been below 10% every year
I trust guys like Eno Sarris to point out actual pitching skill changes over Scott any day of the week.
points league should I trade bohm for carroll
Yes 100%
why:(
Carroll has been a major disappointment so far this year.
And it started towards the end of last year. He isn't 100%, which sux. I def sank draft capital in picking CC.@@Redbaron9495
Is Scott ok?
I think you talk more Woba and goba and don't forget moba.. these are the real factors if a player is good.
8 innings shutout.. but his booba is down 4 pts so I would rather roster a new 22 year rookie
Shouldn't have this video been titled "old man screams to clouds!"?
Acuna timing is off bad!
Towers just put G. Henderson in top 20? Has his head been in the clouds? Wtf
Scott is getting worse and worse...a dude can literally bat. 400 and Scott will still find a reason to rip on them
One thing, I don’t think spending a lot of time on Jurickson Profar is valuable. Does anybody really not think regression would come?
this may or may not be relevant but i’m so sick & tired of Langford. he’s butt cheeks.
Alonso was out. You can see his hand in the air andnot on the plate
And im not a cubs fan...just a Imanaga owner
Scott why are you such a bitter betty?
Towers SHUT UP! Let Scott talk
Scott with the "trust me bro, i've been doing this for 17 years" re: jurisckson profar LOLOLOLOL Scott.... are you effin kidding me? That argument hasn't worked since 1st grade, wtf is going on here lolololol
I have evidence that “trust me bro” works, and works a lot…. Masks… the fabricated 6 foot rule… “authoritative sources” fool people with trust me bro every day… with fantasy baseball no one should take people’s opinions and always go with it, but they are good to help you make your own decisions
Has anybody said “Profar so good” ?
Why does Scott Shite on Imanaga? When you expect your ace to fuck up, he's been pitching like a true bad ass. Horrible take.
why do we have to look at you 3? why dont you show stats and names etc? its lame.
These guys suck and lost me when they barely have Gunnar Henderson in the top 20. Lmao gtfoh
