Amazing review of the MM switches. This is huge for modding and opens the door for a lot more customization in switches. Also can't not point out the getting over it music heh so nice
Damn the dedication! I really appreciate you going through all the different combos. Glad to hear the tolerances on the housings aren’t too bad - I was worried about that when I first saw these on CK.
If you haven't heard already, gazzew will be ceasing direct switch part sales and allowing some of his vendors in different regions to stock boba switch parts!
thanks for the vid! what do you reckon would be the sound difference between an all nylon housing with pom stem, and an all nylon housing with a nylon stem?
what do u think was the smoothest combination and the poppiest combination? can these housings and stem make bcps if I use the nylon bottom and the pom stem with a cherry top?
i feel like this hobby eventually devolves into hitting plastics together for the most minute differences in sound for everybody, listening to this exhaustive sound test
The only really different switch I have ever used that has never been replicated in my opinion has been snag switches from keyboardtreehouse but the stems break easily. But literally have never found switches that sound similar
For most people in the hobby, yeah. It's already that. You really have to use a graph on each test to determine what those minute differences are, since sound tests on YT are very skewed and often broad. I'm hoping more people would measure switches like how audiophiles measure Headphones/Speakers/IEMs.
@@ohwell5761 I can't imagine saying that honestly. I wouldn't be able to listen to a single switch and tell you "ah that's an Alpaca" or anything like that, but I can absolutely tell the difference between switches to the point where it annoys me.
I have been watching hundreds of videos and reading hundreds of reddit posts, blog posts, and switch specs to catch up on all the latest innovations in the keyboard hobby since I left it 2 years ago, but this was the single most helpful thing I found under a single URL. Bravo. Only Keybored came close with his scientific breakdown of plate accoustics. I now know I want a UHMWPE top and bottom with a P3 (long?) stem.
If you wanted a ‘slightly’ deeper dive into frankenswitch and switch sounds I did a video on that a bit later (albeit it is meant more for people with very little to no experience) but I’m honestly very glad you were able to get value :))) and welcome back to the hobby
this has to be the most effort someone has put into a switch review
I appreciate the work you put in to all of this. Legit all the combinations for a full board soundtest... Jesus.
Great work. Love you man!
Overall great idea would love for them to add in more niche switch materials like PBT and PTE.
Never would I thought someone would put this together, but you are legend!
The effect to see under the keycaps in the video is the coolest way I’ve seen to do the switch tests omg.

Thank you so much for the time you took to do this. It is greatly appreciated !! You sir have earned a like and subscribe ! 😄

Excellent video mate. Thanks for putting in the effort for us!
youre an actual mad man for doing this....but i love it! great vid tofu
the pom top upe stem and uhmwpe bottom is definitely my fav, this vid is awesome I'm definitely gonna go get some rn :)
I can't believe you did this. Now you gotta ice your fingers.
Thanks for the dedication!

Holy shit someone actually did it lmao was waiting for a video that has all the combinations, well done.
loving your new editing man 👍👍
The madman!
zaku vs green jacket
is there day and night sound difference
what do u think was the smoothest combination and the poppiest combination? can these housings and stem make bcps if I use the nylon bottom and the pom stem with a cherry top?
Salute!
hows ly stem, pom top and uhmwpe bottom?
hey, whats the figure you used at the sound tests to hold the switches? :O
That is a latrialum toy!
@@TofuTypes thank you ^^
i also use this on my build uhm top ly stem nylon bot
Can I use the stems to make bcp or creampaca? Is it compatible?
Yup!
are these lubed?
Nope
I'm so sorry
At this point I feel that all switches sound the same. I mean there are small differences, but like after a week, you can't tell a difference.

@J M if all of them sound and feel similar to you then you may be in a wrong hobby... just saying

@J M based, after trying out double stage spring, i cant go back bruh
Your dedication to the craft is inspiring! I hope you get the appreciation you deserve for your work on this video
Nylon top, LY Stem and Nylon bottom is nice, I also liked the UHMWPE Top, P3 Stem and POM bottom, that switch was slappinn
For real, I loved that 2nd combo the most
My personal favourite combo would probably be POM stem + Nylon bottom + POM Top
The best video about the MM switches yet. Good job for making this hobby a little easier for us!
Your hard work is so underrated! I love your effort dude
5:56 Durock POM recolors?
Just want to point out that Gazzew switch parts have been available as individual (Unassembled) pieces for a long time now
You madman! I can't believe you put yourself through this, but also thank you so much for making this video.
i wish they offered non-long poles... getting too tired of the long pole trend. Imo the short actuation is uncomfortable.
There is talk for a short pole but who knows 🤔
What is that cute figurine holding a switch? Also you're an absolute unit for doing all those switch configurations, amazing work!
Thank you! And that’s the latrialium toy!
holy crap

They sound all different. But then I couldn't tell which one I prefer anyway.
Thank you for your tremendous efforts.
Hey, a bit late to the party. Did you need to lube the leaf? i got a set and it seems like the leaf is ticking, might just be a bad batch, who knows.
@@sinnerairsoft8487 I do remember lubing behind the leaf but it wasn’t that bad from what I remember
@@TofuTypes thanks a lot for the answer imma do just that then
POM POM POM FOR THE WIN!, but I may be biased to full pom, they are all I use. Akko made two great all-pom switches., I would choose the rose.
What the actual... Unbelievable respect for these soundtests, geebus man 07
would the pom stems work as a replacement for cream stems in bcps?
do u think uhmwpe housings with the pom stem is the same as the creamsicles?
respect! 💯
This man's doing the Lord's work
upe stem with nylon top and bottom are probably my faves
1:31 LY Stem
2:01 P3 Stem
2:07 UPE Stem
2:35 POM Stem
We're in the fine line between big brane and crazed madlads
which sw do you like best of the 36 types of MM SW
What was the clackiest combination?
Omg! Video we want all along
Salute!

doing god's work. 13.45 is considered long pole, righ? that would mean we get to make low cost BCPs forever.
Yeah I would say anything longer then 13.4 is long pole :) my thanks
now i am in a good mood
Wow, this was perfect! This helped so much and I really really appreciate allllllll the effort that went into this!
Glad to help!
Wet dream? >;I
It's been a while since any company tried to produce uhmwpe tops and bottoms. Any noticeable defects with this batch?
Not that I noticed, everything seemed to fit together no problem. I did find the Pom and uhmwpe top were definitely tighter then nylon
What are LY stems ? Are they long pole tooo?
Ly is a blend of UPE, and personally anything over 13.4mm for me is considered long pole so all the stems here are
do the stems fit in jwk housings?
These molds are jwk :)
