I love to see the way you move in the raid, its just so smooth. But even more i think the commentary is even better, it is nice to hear the viewpoint of a top player on raids. Overall i think bungie has to balance between the challenge and accessability of the raids, the development cost is not insignificant for a raid and it has to be able to gather for a sizeable audience of the player playing the game. For me the balance of making a raid that is easy enough so you can lfg through it, but also offers the possibility of low-mans is the right way to go. It will not gater to the absolute peak of the playerbase pyramid, because in order to add that much challenge, it would mean that the wider audience would just not be able to manage it. The recent problems with the voice chat are pretty bad and since i play on a timezone where there is a really varied language base, it is always not that easy to get a lfg group of 6 together that all could communicate in a sufficient level to pass a communication intensive encounter.

I think given bungies 3 and 3 philosophy (3 on mechanics, 3 on ads) i think you make a boss encounter that with mimium effort to get to damage can be 5 phased (push enrage back 1 phase). However, the mechanic team can do some extra mechanics to increase the damage output during DPS and the ads team can slay out under a timer to increase to dps time. That way teams are incentivized to maximize their role and contribute to optimal DPS time. Bungie gets to keep the ease of access for newbies (everyone can get to damage) while giving veterans a challenge to strive for (everyone is firing on all cylinders to get a 1-2 phase)
I was listening to your discussion especially after a interview salt did about the state of d2 endgame and it would be nice if we had a standard for mechanics that required 4 player’s minimum with a difficulty for the 48 raid race to have a 4-10 hour wf completion.
