Yeah, I've heard of The Rule of Thirds before but didn't really understand it. After this lesson, I'm finding that I'm looking for the thirds in whatever piece of artwork that I like. Your lessons make sense to me Brandon and I hope you realize how much joy you are bringing to those of us who are not natural artists. God bless Brandon

It feels illegal to not have to pay to learn this knowledge from you.
Even years later after you created these videos they are still great, and you make it fun and I notice you push us to have our own creativity and don't be scared to break the rules.
    Immaculate job.

Brandon, I have tried to sketch for years. I love your approach. It has made me realise what sketching actually means. I love how you are using basically rubbish drawings to show us the principles. There is nothing negative in this statement. Your approach encourages us to master the basics without being intimated with the master, if this makes sense to you. Thank you for helping me to have the confidence to be able to sketch.

Thank you so much for these tutorials! I'm 57 and finally ready to embrace my artistic side. Art was something that was not appreciated or encouraged while I was growing up. I have done photography for the last 10 years. It was and is a huge part of my therapy. Sometimes a picture can convey feelings so much more than words. I have wanted to learn about drawing for so long but it felt so overwhelming trying to learn it on my own.

I’m just starting again after being some what an ok sketcher of all different things really from cartoons to animals, just at a moderate level but I put my pencils away and never went back, 7 years later (as it was 7 years ago I packed up) I’m seeing your lessons for the 1st time and have gotten from 1 to to 7 and I had to drop you a comment on how relaxed I am with learning things again with you, I’ll admit i knew a few things already but to learn in such a relaxed way again with no pressure of being a (VVG 🌸) it’s just a breath of fresh air and I love you love this that much that your knowledge and wisdom was just passed on for nonprofits, that’s what’s most inspiring especially in the money mad world we live in when advice ain’t even free no more, so ye thanks mate, I’ve found my flow again and I’ve only just started to watch you all today but it’s been a blast, I’ll be on your page for a good while now I think, thanks dude your awesome 👊🏻

When perspective gets confusing in a still life, you can make a proportion divider to help. This lets you accurately mark where objects, folds, shadows, etc. are in the composition. (The DrawMixPaint channel has a few videos on this.)
