New subscriber. Just saw you dividing your Sarracenia, my largest if a very full pot do you have to repot or could you just keep getting a bigger pot, I don’t want to kill mine …it’s pot is 7” across ,had 20 flowers now cut off cos the died ,but the tubes look so packed…. I would appreciate your advise …in the U.K. midlands and we are now in June

It’s quite easy to divide next time you repot you’ll notice it pulls away into separate tubers just pot them on to create more plants or even swap with other growers and thanks for subscribing.

I have a question: What about the bits that doesn't have any leafs and is bear but with roots. Will to grow?

If it has roots will usually burst into growth during the spring, I've often cut a sarracenia right back to the peat moss so clearly no leaves and once spring comes around it starts to develop new leaves.

Why do you want to wash the dirt off the roots? Won't that just stress them more? I would never do that with a normal terrestrial plant. Don't want to loose any soils around the roots if I can.

It’s a clear way I’ve found so that I can have a close look at the roots, and new growths and to see if I’ve got any larvae around the base which will eat away at the rhizome, just away I was shown years ago when I first started from an experienced grower. Thanks for watching and commenting happy growing.
