Hi Patrick! Thanks for the update. Don't want to be negative, but we sucked tonight. Not to beat a dead horse but ..... goaltending again. GO OILERS!!!

The Oilers will be lucky to stay in a playoff position if they keep going like this.

It's the first comment and seen it before knowing the end. So yeah you're negative.

@@honkingantalope I would say I am disappointed but yes it is resonating as negativity. I had huge expectations after last year's season. I feel like the team is not playing together and they are making too many mistakes that are costing them games. We are a quarter of the way into the season and I must say I am starting to get frustrated.

My buddy was saying to me that maybe they have a little Stanley hangover, and with adding some new faces in the group it will take sometime for them possibly

The forwards needs to shoot more. Fleury was giving lots of rebounds. They had lots of chances to shoot but decided to pass for a pretty goal that didn’t happen. Need more bodies in front more shoots on goal , more chances for a deflection

Team seemed pretty disjointed. So many new pieces rn.

  • @Highland_Dirk
    @Highland_Dirk День тому

It's almost as if our D were afraid to clear bodies from in front of the net. Although he did not defend well against that one goal, the only guy really clearing guys from in front of the net was Brown (D)l. Skinner (G) looked shaky right from the start. Didn't expect much tonight, but maybe the focus should be fundamentals.

Hi patrick and all oilers from Germany. it is my fault that we loose this game, because i couldnt support the team on german _TV live as i sad. they changed the program for flames vs rangers, what a shame. what i saw at SN now makes me really sad. Slapstick from the beginning to the end. If i had pay for it, i go crazy, no joke. it is really hard to be an oilers fan so far away, but what i saw, was so catasstrophic, that i was hard on quitting my fanship!!! Does any training exist in this franchise, any special trainer recognized what mistakes are made, do they understand that somebody of the last season do not bring their form up to this point of the season???!!! it is hard to see it far away and nobody noticed my thoughts. so i take it as my fault not supporting my team correctly, perhaps that will help to wake them up?! Boys your playing is a shame to every fan. Cheers from a very very sad fan in cold Germany

Once again: We need to give Pikard a few starts in a row to see if he can get on a roll. Because Skinner isnt.
Skinner hasnt stolen a win and been the difference maker since the Canucks series game 6 or 7

Surgery still postponed so here are some stats. Again, I can't watch the games. What follows is my opinion.
So the first goal 27 seconds in to the game was a weird one by Draisaitl. Draisaitl shot it from his own blue line and it took a funny hop off of 2 sticks and in. It's times like that I can see a Goalie looking up and asking God if he owes him money or something.
This was a situation where Edmonton had issues clearing and eventually Minnesota got it in. The mismatch in blocks tells me there needs to be another round of posterior whoopin' to get it into the heads of ALL players that a stick can block a shot so get them in the lanes and help your goalie out.
Ekholm with 5 giveaways and Bouch with 4 were mostly due to dump and chase but still it's a lot. Oilers had more shots (which is pretty normal now), won quite a few more faceoffs, fewer penalty minutes, fewer hits, half the blocked shots, more giveaways, 1 less takeaway and the Wild are not known as a high scoring team yet they got 5 and the Oilers only got 3. I know we don't tend to do well against them but still it's like some things were half hearted. They also finally lost a game that had a fight.
    Take care all.

That Bouchard shot was blocked by a wild player that’s how oilers needs a defence’ no one is sacrifice for a block shot ☹️

Everybody talks about the goaltending but the d-zone coverage was awful. Way too many guys camping out unmolested in front of the net.

OK Patrick, what would be your solution to this game. I felt they play a good game but things didn't turn their way. I heard you mention Tyler which is comical on how he goes of. I feel they have a great team. Hey relax the season is young and long. You keep on talking about Nurse. Since he got his contract I don't think he cares, just my opinion. Bouch and Skinner need to pickup their game. They did it last year. As far as the rest of the team it's only a matter of time the things will fall into place. After thought. Isn't it funny that when the team is losing a few games fans need to go to hospital to fix their ankle LOL I watched those games on Prime

Just way too much perimeter play, they need to get to the net. Made it too easy on Fleury and just had no drive. I think they’ll turn it around, but just can’t find any consistency right now. Nurse was playing better, just hope the concussion doesn’t derail him

Good goaltending relying on solid defence...now goaltending sucks and defence sinks at the same time...

Will Jeff Jackson still be getting GM of the year this year? Agent turned GM wizard hasn't aged well... I think it's time to retire the "nuclear option" term used for 29/97 on a line as well. It's 2 great players that cannot dictate the game alone. I've said many times the Oilers refuse to address goaltending and simply any team that would make Pickard their #2 wasn't serious about winning.... I just think too many people thought they would be the Pamthers and have a stellar season, and with the off season signings, it looked great on paper (except goaltending/D core) Edmonton put all their eggs in the offense basket during free agency and ignored their back end. I'm hopeful they can turn this around but it's not looking great.

Pathetic keystone cops game. Fluery tried to inspire the boys. They stayed in scramble mode and were disorganized . Dazed and confused. Wild played with heart. PP is still so predictable. Opponents are well aware where the puck is being passed to.Rangers up next. Hope the team shows up to play. At least you saw it live.

Oilers looking like they were just introduced to one another before the anthem. If they don't get it together and start playing like a team, might as well phone it in. No forecheck, no backcheck, nothing.

I thing it's time to panic about the horrendous defense also.....We can not get a great golie and fugg him up againg as we did last 15 years......we need to talk aboud goaltending and defense. It's not possible to win only if we score 4 plus goals....
