DAYDREAM BELIEVER
Nick is a musician who is best known for his guitar and electronics. Nick is a founder and ongoing member of the band The Verve. But first and foremost Nick is an “expert daydreamer”. Nick has sharpened his faculty for “daydreaming” over the years, and he will be talking about his experiences of transforming daydreams into creation, and a few of his realisations about the creative process.
One of the greatest guitarists of our generation, up there with Johnny Marr.
Thats it; they were both innovators. Anyone can learn to fret w*nk 15 notes a second with enough practice but Marr and McCabe created whole new ways of playing guitar.
I bet he has more CPU power now.

The first time I heard “The Drugs Don’t Work” (The BBC version) I was ELECTRIFIED by the sounds this man was making on his guitar. WHY the camera didn’t focus on his more is beyond me. His sounds were GORGEOUS, COMPLEX, MESMERIZING. He just... stood there and was lost in in own beautiful world. God Bless You, Nick McCabe!! You are a genius!
The Verve is Nick Mccabe. Richard Ashcroft would not be where he is today without him.

If Jimi was still alive he would be fascinated with Nick's earlier work, Nick is quite brilliant with words, I'm alway's intimidated a bit when I have spoken with the lad.

Wow I found this late! I was watching voids with Nick & Simon! I loved this beautiful presentation! I am a lifelong daydreamer...and born living & loving music! But this is so cool! I am from southern USA North Carolina Smoky mountains. Your guitar playing has the ability of putting me in a daze! I will admit I still love early Verve hallucinogenic music! It takes me away.....gets me high. But I love ALL of your work with the Verve & your interviews. You & Simon seem to have stuck together. Of course when you original 4 guys get together...it is pure magic! I hope for us fans pleasure you guys will surprise us with an old Verve type of album. I do love & jam to all of the songs...have bought vinyl albums. This was great...very cool! Ty!

Love this. Nick has been a huge inspiration for me when it comes to Guitar and creating music. Love the bit about being a dreamer. Long ago when I was 15 we had a parents teacher evening at my school and will never forget when the teacher said in front of my dad, Ashley is a day dreamer he is forever looking out the window lost in his own world. Anyway big respect and love to all the other dreamers out there.

His guitar work is up there with unfilter Hendrix, Martyn, Buckley, Clapton's earlier work, Mccabe is a savant and a genius he deserves to be in the hall of fame, when a guitarist can save lives with his music he is on a whole other level of being an artist!

Me too. I often say I'm lost in music because of this guy. I never learned to play like "normal" people do. Thoroughly inspired by this guy.
@@timacann same here tim, something about his playing mesmerised me as a kid n then found in my 20s that my playing was massively inspired by his not normal kinda feel, beautiful and edgy, he's so unique its hard to put into words

In my mind AcNorthern Soul is the album of the century and Nick McCabe is shear genius. I still listen to Stormy Clouds on repeat on occasions when I code (while smoking weed). It never gets old and I love being in bliss. ;)
I grew up on that album. Lived through life listening to it. I'm middle aged now and I'm still waiting for a band create an album that can take AcNorthern Soul's place. All other brit pop has faded to me. Even Abbey Road seems old these days. I wonder when I'll grow out of A Northern Soul.

You can even hear (I think it's Richard) saying "That was amazin', that was" at the end of Nick's slow-burn solo in Stormy Clouds (reprise) just before the track cuts out. He wasn't wrong.
I love that they left that little reaction in the final cut. I can only imagine how mind-blowing it would have been to be in the studio when Nick was laying that magic down. Even for him that was next level!

Nick McCabe is to Guitar what Jim Clark was to the art of motor racing. A humble genius of their art. Thanks for the phenominal music and the inspiration Nick and keep on making music!
I had to read it twice: Jim Clark. So far ahead of everyone at the time. Most going through a few sets of tires a weekend, Jim's looked untouched. Same with brakes. Going only fast enough to win the race.

Lilly Allen is fucking shite both musically, and personally, she wants gassing, She's personally despised by much of the country. Mr McCabe musicianship is a shrine for the ears to worship, and he deserves exalting. Music he's been part of is loved by much of the country, in a way Lillie's could and never will be, and he's much too humble and busy to be despised by much of his country personally, unlike Allenstein
One of the most brilliant lead guitar players ever. The parts that he added to everything on Urban Hymns were absolute perfection. That being said, listening to him speak about anything is a sure fire cure for insomnia
