Yanagi now is more like an upgrade. You can still actually use On-field Anomaly that’s available now like Grace and Piper or even Jane for disorder oriented team and it still can works on clearing end game content. Burnice is now the only off-field anomaly which none can be substitute for her ability to do off-field anomaly, i guess she’s more better investment.
Frankly its hard to say because it comes down to one simple fact. Is Hoyo going to make more on field Anomaly units or more off field? Depending on which one gets the priority will mark the better of the two. But if you ask me, its far likelier we get more on field dps Anomaly than off field, so Burnice will probably last longer since she needs next to no field time.
It seems like a nahility type situation, anomaly units can be either dps or debuffing sub dps as stated in the class type, I hope we get more debuffing anomaly’s and they take a break from the dps ones.
Any future fire or ether dps lean into a sub-dps role rather than main because of dot style anomaly. Yanagi's disorder multiplier increase will make swapping between those characters every 3-5 seconds (and the support) relevant. In this sense Yanagi has a significantly harder to replace role than Burnice because she doesn't outright get crept by on field anomaly.

We already see the complaints against Rina for her short uptime and need to swap in and out constantly. This is why a unit like Burnice is so valuable. You get all the benefits with next to none of the field time required.
If u have Jane or Grace, Yanagi is definitely better off pulling on a rerun and Burnice is the better pick. But if u don’t have them then going for her isn’t a bad choice especially if u also have Rina to boost shock. Ofc having Burnice with Yanagi is also an amazing team, but also expensive. Honestly if u don’t plan to build anomaly teams in the future then I would just skip both, but if u do want to start but don’t have any S rank anomaly units then both of them is a good pick. (Little more on the Burnice for future proofing). So final verdict is PULL WHO U WANT TO PLAY, all this is just a technical stand point.
Yanagi looks very strong and fun. I think she holds good value if you are looking for an electric main dps outside of Grace and she seems like she can fill a sub ops role as well especially with the ultimate quick assist. Burnice has more of a supportive role, but she can deal great damage as a main ops with Lucy and another unit like Piper, Seth or Caesar.😄
possible future issue with yanagi as electric character, is in 2.1 we will likely get ZZZ raiden. raiden will be OP as usual, if zzz raiden is off field + energy support like in genshin then it's W for yanagi. but if she's a main dps like in HSR, then it's huge L for yanagi.
burnice also has her own issue, there will most likely be another off-fielder with electric element very soon due to the new off-field fire and electric focus discs. right now burnice main weakness is in wave enemies, she needs to reapply burn to enemy and she does't have any utility (buff/debuff). if future electric has off field ability that doesn't need to be reapply to new waves of enemy, and also does utility then burnice will take huge L.

I would say Burnice any day, as a player from day one and even experiencing teams with Caesar too, it feels like heaven having her on my side and my performance increased like 200% she makes things very fun and also the most important part it HELPS a lot even with (me) skill issue, I don't need to try hard to clear all the floors even when my carry is an A rank, her compatibility with Piper is S tier. Speaking of compatibility, It would be fun to make a video about non standard teams, in today's shiyu def the recommended team was electro but I don't like the current electro units beside Qingyi so I tried Qingyi with Ellen AND Lycaon and you know what? it was surprisingly very fun to punish the enemies with all that daze and the 3 passive bonuses activated, in fact the bonus of those 3 is almost like an entire fourth support character off field and also YES I don't like playing with Soukaku either lol. I was able to clear the last floors relatively easily like that even if I'm not playing as intended but just playing with characters I like and work together surprisingly well
I think one of the most important considerations is actually the A ranks, Burnice has a LOT more value alongside Nicole and Lucy being the rate ups. I managed to get BOTH from M1-2 to 6 pulling Burnice to pity and 1 extra 10 pull Yanagi has .... Billy and Anby who are "Only ok" if im being nice
Same but still going for burnice, never know might end up getting yanagi via luck on 1st 10 pulls which I doubt cause that haven't happen yet in this game or lately in honkai
Spending resources on weapon banners is absolutely the worst use of resources lol it's minimal upgrade for limited currency and honestly not worth it when you can make optimal builds with other W-Engines and the right drive discs. Save your resources and you won't have to worry about losing 50/50s for limited characters

The A rank weapons and the free S ranks do good enough job. Yes signature ones are nice but only worth if you got suckered into paying real money. Also there arent any PvP modes so no need to have the most powerful character in any hoyo or other gatcha.
my account 2 most invested dps are jane and M2 nekomata. which is why i lean towards yanagi more than burnice i need an on field dps character that have different element. but versatile enough in case i want to play yanagi with jane.

Burnice have many replacements in mono fire team (lucy , koleda ecc..ecc) and for other team u can simply using seth as replacements . At this moment the only one dps electro is grace and it is luck based having Grace. Plus i don't think burnice will be eternal . 2-3 . Burnice is overvaluted by the people.

I think he could’ve used better names too but I’m pretty sure he was getting at that: For future value, Yanagi is more likely to benefit more from potential future ally buffs making her damage ceiling higher. For potential, Burnice is better because she’ll slot into more teams because of her off field play style while Yanagi would fight for the on field position
Ya it's very confusing in this video since both are very similar in what they are unlike if he was comparing a dps vs a stunner for example. But usually to me from his other videos future value is how the character can benefit furture teams and potential is how future teams can benefit the character. Honestly think he should just change his titling for those sections.
For my acc I'm looking electric dps either Yanagi/Harumasa. Anton seem lackluster and Grace more like 90% phys 10% electric. Harumasa kit seems like Childe in Genshin where he has dual stance combat which I dislike. Hence, pulling for Yanagi 🤟
Burnice, i really hate lighter playstyle.... He just punch2 ora3 like a brute... they literally have the concept gameplay in the goddamn story when he follow up uppercut people off field and that is soo cool... But they decide to go generic path -,-
I already wanted Yanagi no matter what, but my lack of Ellen, Zhu Yuan, Qingyi, and Jane makes me NEED Yanagi even more to give me an incredible main DPS and better coverage. I’d otherwise have to build Anton which wouldn’t necessarily mind, but god damn I want and need Yanagi so bad, she’s so strong. Skipping Burnice to save up for M0W1 Yanagi
Both are having different role , yanagi is on field anamoly DPS while burnice is an off field sub DPS. For future value sure both are having the future value but I believe burnice will shine more as more DPS attackers will be coming and she is good from now.
If you want one in between Yanagi and Burnice, I would say Burnice could help you much more as you have Piper to team her up with for the disorder team and a wide array of supports that go excellent with them both.
I've got no choice I have to skip this entire patch plus owning Grace and Koleda so I have those slots filled. I know they'll be an upgrade but it'll take you 500,000 denny's just to make them functional a million plus to get them caught up to the existing roster you already have. The game doesn't give enough for me to expand further plus it's time for me to get skills, the passives and weapons maxed or higher leveled. I've spent over 300,000 denny's just in the last 2 days I'm broke lol
If Myabi is anomaly, im pulling for Lighter and Myabi, cause i think they will do good with Burnice. If Myabi is attacker... then i might pull for Yanagi and see where it goes...

I'd pull yanagi if she wasn't right after burnice. Her kit looks very fun but come on we don't have enough time to save. I'm sacred that them pushing anomaly really hard right now means it's going to be powercrept in the future. But they would need to release really good dps because my almost maxed out zhu yuan doesn't come close to my Jane burnice team
You compare the electric coverage for Yanagi but for Burnice you target her unique kit specifically so I say is clear this is a slightly biased comparison.
GRACE IS SOOO GOOD WITH BURNICE. the gameplay is superb and satisfying with grace being onfield and burnice being off field with sett. I got grace m1 tho making the energy regen really good and the team is really solid and fast paced like jane. Edit : OH YEAH THE DAMAGE IS NUTTY AS WELL WITH 100K+ DISORDER AND EASY TO PROC
i think harumasa will be an electro support too haha we're due for a limited support and it makes sense to powercreep rina since koleda and grace both have their counterparts at this point
investment means nothing to players like me who can clear all contents with A ranks. I will continue to pull characters I love and skip those I don't even if they are meta.
I will be frank. I don't believe Burnice's character archetype can function in the long term in this particular game, since your team is composed of only 3 units. Burnice does not grant any level of supportability (e.g. Lucy) to increase the team's damage, meaning that the moment a support who can build up anomaly easily shows up, Burnice is thrown away. I've been doing disorder teams since the beginning of the game with Grace, and I skipped Burnice because my tests did not show any real improvement when comparing with Nicole in the same slot. If I'm not mistaken, Burnice takes away control from your ability of when you want to disorder, and that's very important when it comes to burst damage and disorder manipulation. Despite having Grace heavily invested, Yanagi still seems like a better choice, even though Burnice fits into my team like a glove. I was anticipating her arrival for a long time, and I can pull her at this very moment, I am choosing not to because I don't see her lasting very long at all. At the moment, my Grace can do over 1M damage disorders, which is a far higher number than I am able to achieve with Burnice. Once a new support comes out, they can replace, and further improve, this playstyle. Still, I find pulling any character at this moment to be a potentially suspicious idea until we know more about Miyabi. We're reaching 1.4, the usual big powercreep patch (hmm, Ice character who is the leader of a faction coming in 1.4, where have I seen that before?), and the game is far too easy even for A rank characters, seen as I am currently working on a Shiyu Defense clear under 2 minutes on a F2P account with Grace and Piper as carries. Keep in mind, a clear under 2 minutes with the only limited unit being Caesar is very much overkill, and I don't see it always being that way, Yanagi being able to do substantial damage in comparison to what we've had before is, at the very least, a warning to what may be yet to come. So, if anyone has made it this far, and if you find my words to be worth anything, I recommend patience once 1.3 drops :) Unless you want to pull for your favorite character, then you can ignore everything I've said. As for Burnice, for everyone who pulled her, I really do hope I'm wrong, so I can pull her later myself. Have a great day! :)
@noiro2342 No, after all, I am F2P. It would have been pretty insane if I did :) She is M0. However, I do have Grace's S1, and my Rina is M1S1, and both of these obviously help. Also, we currently have a very strong anomaly buff in Shiyu Defense, which helps in achieving these high numbers.
He didnt miss any points lol, Burnice IS currently the only one that does what she does period. This is a gacha game.. so obviously there will be more characters in the future who are similiar to her if not better. I dont know where you got "the idea" from but maybe you should watch the video first and listen to what he says😅 worst case scenario: you will see any similiar agents like Burnice or Burnice rerun in 6+ months lol
Comparing them is stupid, they both are the best in their respective elemental dmg classes, you cant take yanagi vs shock resistant enemies and expect to do well lmao no matter how hard u hit, that dmg resistance will screw ur precious yanagi build, the same goes for burnice of course.
Isn't the irony that Burnice is the perfect companion to Yanagi? Considering Yanagi wants to be on-field a lot, having Burnice with her off-field anomaly is way better than Jane who also wants on-field, or Piper who's also heavily on-field. And Grace doesn't even count because same element and you need that disorder. They should have released the bow character from the squad this time, and had Yanagi release alongside Miyabi. To space them out a bit so that people who wanna invest fully in anomaly can do so.
I do wish they spaced her out a little bit more, I like her playstyle, team comps with Burnice and Rina and she's basically Lightening Jane which is nice. If they didn't have 3 anomalies back to back I'd definitely pull to swap between her and Jane on the Burince team. But oh well! If she's still good by her rerun she'll be a must pull more me!

For my acc I'm looking electric dps either Yanagi/Harumasa. Anton seem lackluster and Grace more like 90% phys 10% electric. Harumasa kit seems like Childe in Genshin where he has dual stance combat which I dislike. Hence, pulling for Yanagi 🤟
between Burnice and Lighter which would you choose?
Burnice, i really hate lighter playstyle.... He just punch2 ora3 like a brute... they literally have the concept gameplay in the goddamn story when he follow up uppercut people off field and that is soo cool... But they decide to go generic path -,-
Got Burnice, likely going for Yanagi because I like office ladies, but I would totally advise for Burnice if you had to pick one.
I already wanted Yanagi no matter what, but my lack of Ellen, Zhu Yuan, Qingyi, and Jane makes me NEED Yanagi even more to give me an incredible main DPS and better coverage. I’d otherwise have to build Anton which wouldn’t necessarily mind, but god damn I want and need Yanagi so bad, she’s so strong. Skipping Burnice to save up for M0W1 Yanagi
Both are having different role , yanagi is on field anamoly DPS while burnice is an off field sub DPS. For future value sure both are having the future value but I believe burnice will shine more as more DPS attackers will be coming and she is good from now.

Just my opinion, but you might as well need a Lighter for your character roster. Good luck on whoever you pull for ✨🫡.
If you want one in between Yanagi and Burnice, I would say Burnice could help you much more as you have Piper to team her up with for the disorder team and a wide array of supports that go excellent with them both.

I've got no choice I have to skip this entire patch plus owning Grace and Koleda so I have those slots filled. I know they'll be an upgrade but it'll take you 500,000 denny's just to make them functional a million plus to get them caught up to the existing roster you already have. The game doesn't give enough for me to expand further plus it's time for me to get skills, the passives and weapons maxed or higher leveled. I've spent over 300,000 denny's just in the last 2 days I'm broke lol
If Myabi is anomaly, im pulling for Lighter and Myabi, cause i think they will do good with Burnice. If Myabi is attacker... then i might pull for Yanagi and see where it goes...

Normally I would say choose with your other head, but it might be difficult with these 2 characters

I'm sacred that them pushing anomaly really hard right now means it's going to be powercrept in the future. But they would need to release really good dps because my almost maxed out zhu yuan doesn't come close to my Jane burnice team

You compare the electric coverage for Yanagi but for Burnice you target her unique kit specifically so I say is clear this is a slightly biased comparison.
Burnice is where it’s at! She’s my favorite so I’m biased AF lol
Grace not great, but enough to carry anomaly electric for a while, yanagi dont too necessary
GRACE IS SOOO GOOD WITH BURNICE. the gameplay is superb and satisfying with grace being onfield and burnice being off field with sett. I got grace m1 tho making the energy regen really good and the team is really solid and fast paced like jane.
Edit : OH YEAH THE DAMAGE IS NUTTY AS WELL WITH 100K+ DISORDER AND EASY TO PROC

I will be frank. I don't believe Burnice's character archetype can function in the long term in this particular game, since your team is composed of only 3 units. Burnice does not grant any level of supportability (e.g. Lucy) to increase the team's damage, meaning that the moment a support who can build up anomaly easily shows up, Burnice is thrown away. I've been doing disorder teams since the beginning of the game with Grace, and I skipped Burnice because my tests did not show any real improvement when comparing with Nicole in the same slot. If I'm not mistaken, Burnice takes away control from your ability of when you want to disorder, and that's very important when it comes to burst damage and disorder manipulation. Despite having Grace heavily invested, Yanagi still seems like a better choice, even though Burnice fits into my team like a glove.
I was anticipating her arrival for a long time, and I can pull her at this very moment, I am choosing not to because I don't see her lasting very long at all. At the moment, my Grace can do over 1M damage disorders, which is a far higher number than I am able to achieve with Burnice. Once a new support comes out, they can replace, and further improve, this playstyle. Still, I find pulling any character at this moment to be a potentially suspicious idea until we know more about Miyabi.
We're reaching 1.4, the usual big powercreep patch (hmm, Ice character who is the leader of a faction coming in 1.4, where have I seen that before?), and the game is far too easy even for A rank characters, seen as I am currently working on a Shiyu Defense clear under 2 minutes on a F2P account with Grace and Piper as carries. Keep in mind, a clear under 2 minutes with the only limited unit being Caesar is very much overkill, and I don't see it always being that way, Yanagi being able to do substantial damage in comparison to what we've had before is, at the very least, a warning to what may be yet to come.
So, if anyone has made it this far, and if you find my words to be worth anything, I recommend patience once 1.3 drops :) Unless you want to pull for your favorite character, then you can ignore everything I've said. As for Burnice, for everyone who pulled her, I really do hope I'm wrong, so I can pull her later myself. Have a great day! :)
How did you get 1M disorder with grace? M6 grace?
@noiro2342 No, after all, I am F2P. It would have been pretty insane if I did :) She is M0. However, I do have Grace's S1, and my Rina is M1S1, and both of these obviously help. Also, we currently have a very strong anomaly buff in Shiyu Defense, which helps in achieving these high numbers.
You are missing one big point. The idea that Burnice will be the only off field element applier is shortsighted. There will be more in the future.
He didnt miss any points lol, Burnice IS currently the only one that does what she does period. This is a gacha game.. so obviously there will be more characters in the future who are similiar to her if not better. I dont know where you got "the idea" from but maybe you should watch the video first and listen to what he says😅
worst case scenario: you will see any similiar agents like Burnice or Burnice rerun in 6+ months lol
Comparing them is stupid, they both are the best in their respective elemental dmg classes, you cant take yanagi vs shock resistant enemies and expect to do well lmao no matter how hard u hit, that dmg resistance will screw ur precious yanagi build, the same goes for burnice of course.

Isn't the irony that Burnice is the perfect companion to Yanagi? Considering Yanagi wants to be on-field a lot, having Burnice with her off-field anomaly is way better than Jane who also wants on-field, or Piper who's also heavily on-field. And Grace doesn't even count because same element and you need that disorder. They should have released the bow character from the squad this time, and had Yanagi release alongside Miyabi. To space them out a bit so that people who wanna invest fully in anomaly can do so.
I do wish they spaced her out a little bit more, I like her playstyle, team comps with Burnice and Rina and she's basically Lightening Jane which is nice. If they didn't have 3 anomalies back to back I'd definitely pull to swap between her and Jane on the Burince team. But oh well! If she's still good by her rerun she'll be a must pull more me!
