    The title of this video should be "How to save effort and energy installing an automotive part, by using extra effort and energy in modifying said automotive part." 😂

    Omg! I have the 166pcs Kamasa tools set! Not seen a Kamasa ratchet in a video before! I know you’ve had a lot of different ratchets, including Snap-On, Stahlwille, Hazet? How do you think the Kamasa tools stack up? I love the small foot print of the head and the narrow neck.

      Actually, I am planning to make a review about Kamasa tools soon. I have the same 166pcs set and been using this set for many years. Never broke single socket or ratchet yet. Kamasa Ratchets have small heads and very strong. I would rate Kamasa ratchets in the same league as Hazet, Snap-on, Stahlwille etc. One of the best tool kits in my opinion.

    Hi I've the 2008 bmw 320d E91 and wonder if the dust shield is separate fron the e brake supporting ring? I bought a new dyst shield but there were no holes for the brake shoe pins?

    Doesn't the shoes rub on the disc? How did you adjust without the brake disc on?

    I watched the whole thing. Good video.
    Jumped up ready to steam into it and got stuck at 'locate wheel locking nut adapter'.
    Now sat down, eating a sandwich.

    Hi, I am wondering that if that plate is necessary, because I went to the mechanic as the car was making noises from the behind weels, he told me that it's because of these plates, they're broken, he said that those aren't necessary and he removed them.
    Now the car is making noises while driving, I don't know if it's becuse of them plate or it's something else.
    I also had to change the brake pads of the front tyres and brake hose from the back tyres, it might also be because the mechanic didn't do his job right, while removing and putting back the brake hose or the tyre...
    Does anybody know what it could be?
    The mechanic now is blaming me that the car was like this before he touched anything.

      If the car was making noises before mechanic touched it then he should have fixed it and this what you wanted as per your comment. Now back to the noises, is hard to tell based on what you said but I try. there could be many reasons. First make sure if its coming from wheel or some other parts like exhaust etc. If its coming from the wheel, then check if it makes more noises when braking. if it is so, then it could be worn out brake pads or disc or rust is build up where brake pads are mounted. These sounds are like squeaking sound. if the noise is consistent braking or not, then it could wheel bearing. Now if there is no dust plate, then it could be that dust, dirt, or small stone stuck between brake pads and the disc. I would say those plates important. check the brake disc if these warped (shiny and circle marks on the disc). Check if brake caliper pins are moving freely and are not seized. check if some bolts are loosen. It could be the reason since dust shield (Plate) was rotten and some rusty metal part might get into Drum brake (Parking/E-brake). Depending on your DIY knowledge, you can diagnose yourself if you keep all these points in your mind. Try to remove the wheels check again let me know what you have observed then I will explain further based what you observed.

    Why do people always use a claw hammer? That's a carpenters tool. An engineers ball pein would be more suitable preferably a bronze one for the impact driver

    i was quoted for a 5hour job to replace one rear dusk brake shield ,is that really how long it takes from a bmw specialist ?

    • @carrepairandtoolsvideos
      @carrepairandtoolsvideos  9 місяців тому +1

      In order to replace the dust shield in a proper way is to remove the wheel bearing assembly. In this case it might take 3 to 5 hours. They will charge you for bearing too. But this is not good idea since you can replace the dust shield same way as I did. Just cut the shield leaving screw holes and install it. It will take max 2 hours and you can do it yourself if you follow my video and save some bucks!
