I made this yesterday and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it be. I used uncooked very ripe plantains. The next time I make this I'll cook them first, i.e. boil, oven roast etc. which will caramelize them first, bringing out the sweetness. I'm that'll make the difference.
OOOOHHH MY GOODNESS LAURA!!! I just baked your plantain pie for dinner and it looks and taste A-MA-ZING!!! My family loved it!!! Thanks for sharing!!!😃🥳😋😋😋
I am so, so happy to hear that! 👏🏽 Feel free to share my video with friends and family, so we can share the goodness with as many people as possible! 😊
I did already!😂 I was so excited about how everything turned out I couldn’t help it!!! I will definitely make it again and I can’t wait to try your other recipes! Thanks again 😃
I tried this with boiled plantains but when i began to add flour it became really hard to manage so i stopped adding flour and added the egg and melted butter (cause i didnt have cream cheese) instead. The flour was just not working out for me i think i put like 1/2 a cup or less .
Did you cut one of the plantains in half? In the video you mentioned 4 ripe plantains. How many cups of cheese did you use? And is this more of a savory pie instead of sweet since no additional sugar was added? I really want to make it right... the first time! Lol... thanks for sharing!
Yes I did cut the large plantain in half. As for the cheese I really did not measure that as the amount used is up to someone's personal preference. Yes it is more of a savory pie as there is no added sugar. Let me know how it turns out. You can always modify it to suit your taste.
It helps to add volume to your pie as well as act as a binding agent. But if you don't want to add flour you don't have to. Thanks for watching, see you in my next video!
I omitted the flour, added green bananas as well as had no more plaintain and I added tuna for texture and double cream. Was really delicious. Thanks for the idea

Indeed, trying new things adds spice to our life. 😊
I made some picadillo. Do you think that could work with the original ingredients without being to moist? It would almost be like Plantain Lasagna.
That actually sounds good, why not give it a try and let me know how it turned out.
super nice
Thanks and thanks for watching!
my mother is going to make plantain pie today and thanks for making this video
You are most welcome, let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching.
I wonder if you could boil the plaintive as well

Is that sweet plantain the yellow one or green regular plaintain?
The yellow one.
Did u boil the plantain first?
Oh can u boil the plantain for at least 5-7 minutes??
No I did not boil my plantains. If your plantains are ripe you don’t need to boil them as the oven would cook them in any case. Thanks for watching!
