IMHO the most beautiful piece by PMG is one of the songs from the Falcon and the Snowman soundtrack. It’s called “Dalton Lee”. So sublime.
I remember the hit they had from that album!
Pat himself says the definitive AYGWM is from the subsequent live album, "Travels." Highly recommended! If you want more Metheny, check out "Minuano (six eight)", "The Heat of the Day," and "First Circle".
Really appreciate the suggestions and thanks for watching Jim! Stay safe!
Ya gotta hear Metheny's "Last Train Home" if you haven't yet. Great instrumental.
Really appreciate the suggestion and thanks for watching uh dude why!
You might want to check out other Pat Metheny projects beyond The Pat Metheny Group. He’s the only artist to have won Grammy awards in ten different categories.
@@DavidRKoski Agreed.
Metheny is one of the most diverse players and composers I know of; he has won 20 Grammys and is the only person to win Grammys in 10 categories. For those who want to check out more and dive deeper, here are (mostly) Spotify links to tunes which highlight how broad his musical palette extends:
Pop - “James” - @t
Folk - “He’s Gone Away” - @t
Prog - “The Heat of the Day” - @t
Cinematic - “Minuano (six eight)” - @t
Atmospheric - “Tromso” - @t
Traditional - “Blues For Pat” - @t
Approaching the Outer Limits - “Mastema” - @
Alright, you got a taste, not go for the full buffet...start at the beginning, Bright Size Life, and The White Album and a dozen others
Really appreciate the suggestions and thanks for watching Donald!
Know Pat for his work with the likes of Joni and Bruce Hornsby, but never delved much into his own stuff - it's the sort of thing I'd go for live, but not really listen to much otherwise, but with that said REALLY enjoyed Have You Heard.
Yes would think the live thing would be the way to go, well would have been when we could have live things haha
Finally, a Pat Metheny reaction. Awesome. Next try The Roots of Coincidence. ua-cam.com/video/KAcr39zCvqM/v-deo.html
Really appreciate the suggestion and thanks for watching Jerry!
Since you are open to reacting to jazz (few Reactors seem to be interested), I'd like to suggest a specific song from a concert video by Brian Culbertson, who is a pianist (he does mostly jazz and funk music). The video is Brian Culbertson's "Live in Las Vegas" full 2-hour concert video (ua-cam.com/video/lQ0iqwatAl8/v-deo.html). The song I'm suggesting begins at 1:36:40, and is called On My Mind (although he never mentions the name). This piece will blow you out of the water! I don't want to give anything away, but just trust me. I hope you will do it and that it won't be blocked.
Will check it out. Appreciate the suggestion Terri!
Start with American Garage and keep going!
Thanks Nancy!
Skip AG. Pat said it was their worst album.
Pls Tokyo Dream by Allan Holdsworth
Really appreciate the suggestion and thanks for watching Daniel Reyna!
