After countless years I thought I'd look up who the singer on Rush's time stands still. Wow. I'm thinking that's the best thing I have done this year! I'm enamored! How did I not know!?
@@musicalneptunian I never heard of her before but I just listened to her voice and she was a great singer ! She also wrote her own songs and died at the age of 31!
@@debbieguzzardo3316 It was tragic; Sandy Denny had problems with alcohol. She combined that with falling down some stairs at her home. She sang with Fairport Convention. That makes two of us: I hadn't heard Aimee Mann before now. Thanks to you and this channel; Mann is clearly very polished. Gonna find some more of her songs.
@@tedcoop4392 I never heard of Dar Williams but I listened to some of her songs on you tube and I agree she also is AWESOME! She also comes from Mount Kisco New York and that is very close to where I live!
Aimee Mann is so underrated. Love her music immensely. Magnolia always has been and always will be both an all-time favourite movie and an all-time favourite soundtrack. ♥
@@songsthatarecatchy Sorry, I may have reacted antagonistically. I'm doing great, and I agree that Aimee is up there with Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, Tori Amos, etc. I hope I didn't dismiss you out of hand. Sorry.
Ms. Mann, always a fan. Laugh and I cry. Who cares why. She writes the melody of our heart beats. Waves crashing and the full moon are simply better. With her music- my soul is kissed.
This song and video together are a thoroughly satisfying feast. Many of the sonorous phrases in your lyric just glow with depth. Hearing them, they are themselves like a fire that seems to burn out to some extent that sticky black substance of regret and loss. As does that wonderful little horse confidently prancing through the wicker world of stubborn memories.
I worked in rock radio when Whatever... came out. I immediately fell in love with the beauty and pain of the music. This song is another beautiful, instant classic. ❤️ Thank you Aimee. 🏳️🌈
WOW. Speechless at this combination of my dear friend Stephen Brandt and Aimee Mann, a decades' old love, together here. We need this song and this piece of art so badly right now. Thanks for the balm to the soul. ❣
It's a great song and vibe. Aimee's happy voice delivering darker messages will get me every time, but, come to think of it, what on earth can you do for me? Free tickets? Come to my shitty little purgatory town? Be my best friend? I'm being a sarcastic asshole as to show how enough never seems to do.
Hi there, Aimee! :) In all courteousness, this is heartfelt beautiful: it is the grounded-ephemeral song strong. In all courteousness, it is excellent, most excellent to attend yourself feels better, Aimee. :) May the lightness follow yourself! Thx, Aimee! :D ♥️ 🦊
Just stumbled on this! I've never heard Aimee's music before, but her voice and the song as a whole reminds me of some of Joni Mitchell's stuff. Sad, but also hopeful. Very pretty!
Only reason I didn’t click faster was because I wasn’t ready for a tender emotional experience. Her songs always shoot straight into my soul. This song makes me think of memories or stories that we want to forget or erase-that process of repression
It is nice to hear you again and some nice comments on hear... But... Heard this old formula for so so long now... I dream of the lass back in 94... Supporting Mike Peters... Who came out... Kicking an screaming the message that... I got this... The world's not on top of me... I'm on top of the world...
Oh my goodness, this is your finest work since Mental Illness and The MAGNOLIA Soundtrack!!!! I’m so sorry I wasn’t the first to comment! I hate being late to the Grammy Award Winners pre-party!
I love it. This quickly became one of my favorite songs on the album and it's very fun to play and sing as well (on a guitar in A-standard tuning!).
I accidentally stumbled upon this new album. I’ve always been a fan since Till Tuesday days. This is simply brilliant🌟
BRAVO🔥

In my opinion, she is one of America’s greatest living singer-songwriters. Glad you discovered her work-there’s a lot to which to listen!
Beautiful song! Always nice to hear the music that you create! Keep being awesome!
It's already on my playlist. I bought the record on HD Tracks. It's a really good record.
Great song - and great video
I like this song. Aimee Mann does songs that mellow me out.
The way I clicked as soon as I got the notification is a testament to how much I love Aimee’s music
I did exactly the same thing!
Same here, Martin!

Amazing song. The video not so much.
Aimee is a National Treasure...Exceptional Song...Exceptional Video...Exceptional glimpse into artists at the top of their game. Thanks Aimee!
This is quickly becoming my favorite Aimee Mann song. Something about that melody just touches my soul 🤩
Independent together :)
Aimee's like a fine wine, she just keeps getting better and more creative with each new album.
Aimee's music always makes me wonderfully sad and happy at the same time....
Her voice carries me through life❤
Amiee… You’ve done it again. You never disappoint. Love this song!
You sure know how to turn a phrase, Aimee. And pair it with a great melody!
There is no one as AWESOME as Aimee! She takes you to a place no one else does!
Agree. But if you like Aimee Mann, you'd probably also like the late Sandy Denny.

I disagree. I believe Dar Williams is *as* awesome as Aimee. Not more awesome, but of similar awesomity.

I, as a recently divorced man (and I still don't know why), can't help but tear up copiously every time I hear this. Thank you, Aimee, for being real.

Amazing. I've been spinning this album on repeat since I discovered it last month.
I've been a fan of Aimee Mann since 1993. Nobody explores dysfunctionality and despair in music like her.

Love Aimee's voice and lyrics
The cinematic art eclipses the music,. I'm sorry but it's a bit 'old Irish folk dirge'.
i take that as a great compliment - thanks!

Aimee kicks it again!
Pretty song, pretty woman, strange meter.
I love it :)
Definitely the most underappreciated artist I can think of. She is an absolute treasure...
