- How to UNGATE ANY product, brand or category on Amazon in 2023! In this tutorial, I will show you step by step how to ungate any product on Amazon FBA UK.
Amazon sellers with new Amazon accounts will often find that some of the categories, subcategories and brands they want to sell on Amazon are gated.
Category ungating and brand ungating usually have the same solution. The easiest way to get ungated is to choose a product ASIN within a gated category or brand, and then buy at least 10 units from a VAT registered distributor, manufacturer or wholesaler. So for example, if you wanted to get ungated for the Nike brand, you should order at least 10 Nike branded products from a suitable outlet.
As Amazon required that you provide "At least 1 purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or distributor", by ordering 10 units you will receive a valid Amazon ungating invoice that you can submit to Amazon for approval.
The additional Amazon ungating invoice requirements are as follows:
- Dated on or after within 180 days
- Includes your name and address, matching the information in your selling account
- Include the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor
- Show the combined purchase of at least 10 units
- Omit pricing information (optional)
- Please note that, we may verify your submitted documentation by contacting product vendors you identify in your application.
Amazon may also ask you to provide multiple photos when ungating a category, subcategory or brand.
If you are an Amazon FBA beginner starting Amazon FBA in 2023, it is vital you learn how Amazon FBA ungating works. Gated categories and gated brands can easily be ungated by following the steps in this video.
If you are an arbitrage seller, I would recommend getting ungated in the grocery category first as this will unlock thousands of products. You can use the grocery category to build your account sales history which will help automatically unlock other categories and brands.
Private label sellers don't have to worry about brand ungating as they will be launching their own brand, instead, they should focus on getting ungated in the category and/or subcategory they want to sell in before placing a bulk order.

Hi thanks for this so do you have to find an item that ungated a CATERGORY and not just the brand when looking to unlock a category. As many products just say you need approval to sell from *brand* .. ‘we are not accepting application to sell … category’
