Just bought a Vostok Komandirskie and I'm glad I found this video to figure out this unorthodox method of changing the date. It does give a satisfying 'click' when the date changes. Thanks for posting this.
I love the way Vostok Amphibias change the date with a click exactly on midnight. My Seiko 5 date number would gradually turn from about 9pm. I prefer the Vostok CLICK.
Hi mate, I just got my first automatic watch, an Ambhibia. This video is helpful to increase the date but what would be the best method to lower the date? TIA.
If you are going to make a video, at least do it right. Take a second a look at the instructions, you DON'T "wind backwards from 12 until you see or feel something" you wind back from 12 to "8" and go back to twelve to make the day jump. Nice and clear, nothing ambiguous about it. "See or feel" for Pete's sake.
I recently acquired a Vostock Amphimbia and overall my opinion is, meh. I'd rather not have the date complication because its akward to set and the mechanism doesn't keep time very well, like over several minutes per day off. I really wan't to love that watch otherwise.
Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you, I was going crazy with this watch, that I said to myself "fxxx"it, wear it like that. Great video...regards!!!
Thanks for the video, will this mess up the movement? I just had to go 30 days around using this method. No issues, just wondering if in the long term, doing this would damange something? (I know it is also in the manual)
Thanks, just received mine and the date is now stuck halfway. Any thoughts on how to move it to the next Date. Have rotated the hours through several days but the date will not move.
Incredible! You genuis!. I was fiddling around with this for an hour before i decided to hit up the internet, and finally came upon your video. Thanks a bunch!
Hi! I have an old Poljot from the 60's with the date. It's a handwinding watch, not automatic. Do you recommend to set the date this way ? Switching from 9pm to 1am isn't risky to damage the mechanism ?
It's like that on purpose. There is a loose connection between the crown and the stem that goes into the movement. It prevents damage to the movement if you accidentaly hit your watch on the crown.
The worst watch I ever had, mechanical problems to no end, then it stopped forever. My watchmaker told me that it was not worth even to disassemble it, he told me to throw it away. After about eight months from the purchase I threw it, a tip: do not buy it !!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear about that! : ( I ordered 3 without date complication. I've been very frustrated with my beloved Bulova, leaking after I changed the battery. Been back to the place that replaced the battery twice, two other watchmakers also failed to get Bulova to stop leaking. So I am going for the giant seals in the Amphibia.

Me too, bro
just before 9 to just after midnight is correct and will not damage the movement.
Good informative video.
Thanks a lot.
Yes. Exactly
Having a Vostok Amphibia, really made me appreciate the date complication on my other watches.
+Rasheed haha
at least it changes date instantly instead of slowly over 2 hours, handy if you work 3rd shift
Thanks for that! I should have watched this before I wound my new watch forward 18 days!
haahaha me too!

I am surprised how many people love that :)
WTF?...I never would have figured this out.
Very satisfying little click it makes. Thanks. Great vid, simple and to the point!
I purchased a Vostok 2 years ago.. yet, today I learned how to set the date 🤣🤣
Rotating backwards the hands dont damage the movement?
Thanks to you I could correct the date of my Vostok Amphibia "Scuba dude" that took a long trip from Russia to Brazil.
Thanks mate! Useful info!, You saved me time!
Great help…. I just got my Vostok Watch yesterday and I was puzzled with how to set up date on the watch 🤷🏻🤦🏻♂️
My Vostok changes the date at 12 pm instead of 12am how can I fix it
lol underrated
It's so quirky but I love my Vostok!

Stop it and wait

Makes you appreciate a quick set date. I think i'm gonna opt for a no date, keep the symmetry and save the pain

The earlier 60's Submariners also didn't have the "usual" quick set date function. Real tool watches.
“Until I see or feel something happen…..” okay, that’s actionable, back to winding it the hard way.
Haha for fuck sake i have a Vostok Kommando 24. This is fucking ridicoulus to do every month. Fix it!
Thx for good information, i received my sturmnaskie space Pioneer last month with 2416 movement. Is it have the same way to change the date? Thanks
That's to much of a pain I. The ass I just make sure the time it's right lol
Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you, I was going crazy with this watch, that I said to myself "fxxx"it, wear it like that.

Thanks, just received mine and the date is now stuck halfway.

Thank you very much. I received my Vostok Anfibia today, and I am very happy.
Congrats
I think I will go for a no data model...
Well mines is stuck on the 18th...
I must have pulled out the crown looking for the first click 25 times, thanks for the info.

That's some very helpful information, Gunner. Have a great weekend, friend, and greetings from Pittsburgh. Laura
Will this Vostok Amphibia need to set date and time everyday like Komandirskie?
Thank YOU!!!
Thank you

if it is made to be changed in that way than it should be safe
thanks!
Very good and helpful video. Thanks !
thanks, helped me..
Is a very useful tip thank you, you’re awesome!
Very good information to know! I just received a vintage Vostok Komandirskie. Would the same date change method apply for this watch? Regards Robert
it should
cool watch dude...thnak you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tip. Still waiting for mine!
Phew - I thought it was just my Vostok that had the flimsy screw crown. That facet makes a good watch seem cheaply put together.
It's like that on purpose. There is a loose connection between the crown and the stem that goes into the movement. It prevents damage to the movement if you accidentaly hit your watch on the crown.
@@jarekpszuk6944 Noted, thanks. If that's such a good feature then I wonder why none of my (dozens of) other brands have a crown like that.
Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for that 👍
Is the strap on this watch 18 or 22mm?
+torgomax ona 710 case is 22 on the other cases I think its 18
Thanks 👍
Nice . Thanks for sharing :-)
+stype977 thanks brother !
