I would use my 3-way calling and make calls for him on the other line cause I had free codes to make long distance calls, so I helped a lot of other bands book tours too. gg was just as laid back and nice as ever. I probably owe mci and sprint 50 million and put 'em out of business but that's another story...

I like the part talking about the bands that inspired you guys in your youth.....you never hear anybody mention other bands from that era other than the Beatles as being an influence. Dave Clark 5 they were considered as good as the Beatles for awhile yet do a survey and maybe 1 in 10 even has heard of them. The Monkees, Hermin and the Hermits had some good songs also.
i just noticed the sweetest thing. it really shows how much merle loves and misses gg. he dyed the parts of his beard/stache where gg had a beard/stache right before his death... if you look at their staches from then you can also see that gg shaved his stache where merle grew his. talk about brotherly love!
