Jordan, the term grabber comes from the 1970 Mustang Mach 1. it had a hood scoop called an air grabber. It also had a very cool graphic on the side of the scoop with teeth.
Love the idea, but realistically how would they make the battery sustainable between the stages? I assume they will still need to put a small ICE to act as a range extender or maybe swapable batteries?

Chrysler did something a number of years ago with their SRT Track Experience. I did the very first one in Daytona. They had the Neon SRT4, Crossfire SRT6, Magnum and Charger SRT8 and Viper & Ram SRT10. Road course instruction in the morning and then a day full of permanent smile fun on the 1/4 mile, auto-x and road course. Great to see auto manufacturers engaging with their customer in such a positive and supportive way
Great video. I’ve wanted a Mach e and now I really want this rally version. Also, I’ve really enjoyed Jordan and Kyle playing off each other that last handful of videos. The step up in editing is great too. Keep it coming.
Dirtfish is such a treasure. My partner and I did their two-day AWD rally racing class and it was SO much fun! Watching this video brings those fond memories back. And the instructors are all amazing
Ken block would be proud. I’ve always been impressed by the way fords handle. The focus, escape, hell even the flex. Mass market cars with low limits but when you get them to that limit it’s not a total shit show.
10:00 nah, in a world where so many cars are pano-glass roof only, [and where increasing numbers of those don't even open], i aint ever going to hate on a car coming with a plain metal roof. so much less to worry about both cosmetically and mechanically, especially if u live somewhere with snow...
Apparently this opinion is sacrilege to a lot of modern car buyers but I say: Amen! I'll go even further, a plain metal roof should be an option for every vehicle.
@@johneric98most insurers aren’t underwriting so granularly to your car as to know whether it has an expensive sunroof or not. Your premium will just be based on the total average cost of semi-annual repairs to all similar vehicles.
@@aggiewoodie they may not care whether you optioned a sunroof, where that's a thing, but insurance would absolutely care what trim you optioned, and if a trim came standard with a pano glass roof, you could absolutely feel that in insurance rates vs a trim without, or vs a car without (if an insurer determined pano glass roofs to be problematic). Easy comparable: back when SUVs had actual bumpers, SUVs would be more expensive to insure if they carried their spare tire on the back door instead of inside or under the vehicle. Because where a typical SUV might lose just a bumper cover in a light rear-end impact, rear mounted spare tires almost always stood proud of the bumper, and would incur much more damage if lightly impacted.

What a great video! I throughly enjoyed watching you have a blast in the Mach-E Rally! Which would you say is more fun to drive? The Mach-E or an Ioniq5? I am trying to decide which one to get as my first EV.
Ford's navigation system is second rate. Several times it directed me to leave a 4 lane divided route onto what I call side streets. The last time I was on my way home. The navigation directed me on a main route winding several miles off course. The main route was a direct 4 lane divided road.
But at least in Ford EVs, you have many other options for Nav's. In my lightning, I use Apple Maps and it works great, integrates with the dash and soon will precondition the battery before charging. You also can choose, google maps, Waze, etc... Point being, with most other brands you are stuck with the manufacturers Navs so they better be great. Even though Fords nav may not be up to par, there are plenty of choices that exceed those other Nav's.
Kyle how does this compare to your rally Model 3 performance? Why should I buy a Mach E rally when I can just build a lifted model 3 for half the cost?
Okay, when I saw the white Mustang Mach-E Raly with the white tires, rally stripes and the wing... And I normally don't care for white cars, I liked that color... But more importantly, I had flashbacks of the 2000 WRC days when drivers like Markko Martin, Jari-Mati Latvala, Marcus Gronholm and Mikko Hivonen on their Ford Focus RS WRC! Now I kind of want my Mach-E to develop problems so I can have Ford buy it back as a lemon and I can upgrade to a Rally. :-D I just wish the bronze package was available on Rally. I'd love to see those dish wheels in bronze on the Eruption Green.
I hooked up my Mach -E to my 220V receptacle, It has a 30A breaker. My battery was at 78%. Several times the breaker tripped. 30a at 220V. that is 6600W. Now you leave your car to charge over night. I am waiting to see the increases on my electric bill.
Not sure what you are trying to say. If your 30Amp breaker is tripping all the time, that means there is something wrong with your electrical. You shouldn't be forcing a constantly tripping breaker to stay on and should get it checked out before it starts a fire. If you are charging at home of course it's going to increase your electrical bill. The point is the increase you pay on your electrical bill will be 80% less than what you would have given to the gas station.
Are the problems from past years with the power limitations any better here? I live up in the high country of CO and as you know, there's a lot of passing uphill on I-70. The trouble the earlier years were having maintaining speed/power on longer drives is concerning. I've got a friend with a MYP and it doesn't need to be that level of stupid all the time, but the amount of restriction I saw in the 23 GT video vs the EV6 GT was kind of crazy.
After the complaints about the warning chime in the last video, hearing it playing over the Out of Spec logo at the beginning just made me LOL and have to pause to recover before continuing the video. 🤣
If this was priced to compete with the GR Corolla or Civic Type R, it would wipe the floor with the competition like a Focus RS successor. But the people who want this car can't afford it. There should just be a 300 HP version with the same suspension for less money.
No tax credits available, but if you lease it, that should give you the credit right? Leasing an EV gets you the full tax credit amount knocked off the lease cost regardless of your income or price of the vehicle. Is that still a thing?
