Hi Danny, I am an 82 year old man and have been following your teachings for many years. I now play the forward tees, between 5500 and 6000 yards. My current index is 19.0 and last week I shot my best game in 2 years 77, thanks for your help.
Everything you mentioned here is very helpful. 🙏 Don’t listen to the comments that can’t pay attention for more than 1 minute. I can imagine their patience when they golf… 😬
Great lesson Danny, you make things so uncomplicated and easy to take in. Going to work the 3-9 thing into my warm up before a round . Thanks for all your help best coach on UA-cam 👏👏
I needed to see this. I've been struggling all week with making consistent contact because I was rushing my backswing. The thing about this game that's so intriguing to me is how important confidence is for making great shots. The times that I've played my best were when I had the smooth flowing swing that resulted in great contact/striking. When that's happening you almost get in a zone where you know you are going to do it over and over again every time you step up to the ball. That's when this game is so much fun! But all good things must come to an end. We let a few bad shots get into our heads and brings more bad shots. Then we want to toss out clubs into the pond and quit forever! 😂 Thanks Danny. I'm going to try to incorporate this drill as a way to reset if I feel like I'm rushing.
The rhythm idea has really helped me with my robotic swing. Being a musician and applying that rhythmic tempo has gained me distance and help with my body overall body aches and pains. Appreciate you Danny!
Hi Danny, You have been such a great help to me. Only started a month ago and joined a club. Bit embarrassing being rubbish but feel I am trying to put your easy to understand explanations in to practice. Shot 100 today so almost breaking 100. Amazing! Thank you. Hope I can get some lessons with you some day!
Hi Danny, still watching all the videos, really opened my eyes to the golf swing, been playing. For 40years still learning ime 77 but still a golf nut thank you very much for the lessons and ure enthusiasm 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Danny . I play golf under 2000 ball. Only by watching your video. My friend didnt believe that i learn only by watching youtube. Thank you very much danny. You are the best teacher i ever had
This is the first of your videos that I’ve watched. Initially I thought it might be one of those click baity ads that promise to make you scratch in 10 minutes with one simple trick , but for once the content delivered on the promise of the title. This is the clearest golf lesson I’ve ever had. The analogy of a heavy bag is wonderful. So understandable and actionable. You’re a very gifted teacher and I’m grateful that you’re using this technology to share that talent with us. Thank you.
How interesting! I have just read some of the other comments and the key point really is simple, practical, clear instruction! Simple suggestions about space to swing, time to “gather” a heave bag, pivot not sway, pressure not shift are such a useful refining of “traditional” golf speak! If you are new to this Chanel - this one is worth rewatching a few times just to get all the good stuff!!
Hi. I tend to always go back to a too rushed swing. And I need this 1 and 2 in my head. You have mentioned that several times. One time you suggested saying 'Ernie Els'. But I alway saying it faster and faster in my head. But now I've found the perfect words. 'Severiano Ballesteros'. That gives me the perfect rythm. 🙂
Great advice carefully thought through. Unlike most of the other UA-camrs out there that just video every bit of nonsense out there or just copy your stuff!!! Keep it going Dan
Played a little golf when I was a teenager ,last game I played before last month was in 1974 and I am really hooked now but as one can imagine really struggling with irons and hybrids on the fairway.Danny Maude you have been a real blessing and watching your videos have been very helpful.Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!
Wow, Im in the same boat! Well, I “played” a couple times between then and now, solidifying my resolve not to play anymore. But the bug bir again, and indeed Danny’s fantastic energy and methodology have made this time bearable and I am now enjoying being an old hacker with my college-age son.
This really works well. I figured this out going to the range myself. I started thinking about how Tony Robbins talked about teaching people how to become marksman by starting close to the target and moving away. So I reduced my swing a lot and I started hitting the ball straight and farther.
What can I say Danny another master stroke of instruction easy to understand and I expect easy to execute.Ill be trying it tomorrow.Hopefully one day we'll arrange a date and I'll come and have a lesson directly with you to fine tune me
This works danny, have just tried each step as you suggested, the clubhead arc bottomed perfectly every time withoud any feeling of steering or adjusting!! yer a genius 😌👍👍
Just tried this out at the range and it works beautifully. It especially helped with my hybrids and fairway woods. This may be my new permanent swing. Thanks, Danny Maude!
Thanks for another very good video. If I'm losing my rhythm - usually through swinging too quick - instead of counting "one and two" I take inspiration from an old advert and take it easy by saying "Cadbury's Caramel" (in my head, not out loud!). Cadbury's on the backswing and caramel on the downswing. It's got quite a nice flow to it and works for me!!
Oh Danny, every once in a while your matching of concept and language really strikes a chord with implementation! This “lesson” - I wish - is gold and everything in the swing is in balance - because - “we have time”! Love it - hips move - not rotate…space in the downswing…boom opps 2. So good
I don't normally like videos, but I had to give you a thumbs up. Ireally like the way you teach things. Simple steps to help us become better golfers. Thank you
it's great that you use multiple methods to teach; audio, visual, kinesthetic. Golf is mostly about the feel when hitting a shot but you also have to see the shot in your mind and on the course. You keep it simple and concise.
I did this in my back yard today - it feels like I have so much more time and control. Interestingly, I watched my reflection from a window and noticed I had way too much wrist hinge when I first tried the drill. When I adjusted to less hinge it made a huge difference with my ball then turf contact. Love the drill!
You are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! I've always struggled with the dreaded "chicken wing." I believe this will fix that for good. I'd rather have a perfect 9-3 swing, than a full swing with a chicken wing!! Good Lord, I feel like that could be a poem!! Thanks again, I really enjoy, learn and get excited about working on my game with your instruction.
Another great lesson, Danny! Special shout out to Leo for his great post production graphics. I've found the graphics for the dynamic swing plane in this and many other lessons tremendously valuable to illustrate what Danny is describing (as I am a visual learner). The water pouring out of Danny's ears was a fun effect. Keep up the great work. Leo, I hope your swing is coming along too. Thanks for sharing your journey. Best, --PaulC - California
Feel the same way, swing circle and water pouring out has been incredibly helpful. Looking forward to incorporating the Auditory rhythm counting from today’s video. Cheers
Great lesson that can effectively be part of any pre-shot setup. I have watched on TV Tommy Fleetwood doing the 9-3 routine and did not correlate that to his wonderful ball striking capabilities, likewise with Anna pouring water from both ears. This along with the catapult reference makes for some smoothing of the swing into an effortless swing. Keep these drills coming!
Hi Danny, great tips. I started my golf journey on Fathers Day this year watching your videos and have since read Tigers Golf book 3 times (going for 9) and Ben Hogans plus played a bunch and I shot an 89 on Tuesday!
Great lesson, Danny! I've used the "1 and 2" methodology for a couple of years, but with a slight modification. I use "Er - nie Els" instead of "1 and 2". Gives me a better visual of a smooth, well-timed swing. Thanks for all you do!
Hey Danny, super helpful! The title page of the video says “Don’t look at the ball” But if I understood you correctly, we should still look at the ball-just with our head doing the water-out-of-ear exercise, right? For me as a beginner, it would be mayhem if I wouldn’t look at the ball.
Thank you very much for such a useful content. I'm struggling with some issue. Last time I was practicing and stretched the muscle near my ribs on the right-hand side. Waiting for more than 3-4 weeks to heal and using some salve. I've read that this type of injury is quite common in golf, but the question is how to prevent this next time except good warm-up, maybe I got some issues with my swing technique. I'l really appreciate your advice guys. Thanks a lot.
Hi Danny, can you explain how this ties together with the Pete cowen lesson?!! I still believe the Pete cowen way is the way to go, but it is so hard to grasp for the amateur! Many thanks. Love your videos! Cheers, Stefan
What a great lesson! When are you moving to Colorado??? lol, I mean we do have a brand new multi course Pro quality Golf Course getting started on? Just kidding! Shot my first 79 in a tournament last weekend and it's all because of you and your simple way of putting things. Hat's off to you Danny! Never stop! I can tell by the super increase in subscribers that I'm not the only one that is on team DM!
Danny, great lesson. I took the 9-3 approach to the driving range for two days and then played 9. I noticed immediately that I had more distance and accuracy, especially with the irons. The ball seemed to leap off the club face and yet it felt like it took less effort. Thank you.
Danny, your videos are not only helping improve my game (and fun on the course) they are giving me realistic targets to aim for continuous improvement and enjoyment. You are so good, that using your "savoir faire" in teaching golf, I was able to help my wife! Which in rather un believable since she is a better player than I am. Gracie mille!
Hey Danny, looking forward to trying these tips next time out! Hoping this warmup routine helps me from the get go, it usually takes 3 to 5 holes to loosen up!
This is the video I’ve needed. I’ve been struggling with an open club face for a while. And I realized I have to much wrist bend. I will be trying this st the range Friday then using it on a course Sunday.
Danny, i tried the 9/3 trick and kept my arms straight on my round if golf today and it was amazing. Played great, apart from my putting! Thanks very much for the great tip!
Love this approach, Danny. Add speed, but do it smoothly. My best swings happen when i think 50% and pivot through the ball. Really like the way you explain a simple way of swinging without being mechanical.
Best coach on you tube everything you say makes so much sense and you make it so easy to understand if you where in Northern Ireland yous be my coach 😊
Danny thank you so much for the lessons so very well DONE, I'm 87 year ole guy who is still able to play a couple 9 hole rounds a week Ball striking has always been an issue with my game some rounds are better than some not so good TOO MANY MOVING PARTS So once again thank you for what you do.
same thing for my last 2 rounds... felt so rushed and uncoordinated... I love your videos and simple explanations... now I just need to put it into practice sessions and get back to a more free flowing swing.
@silencz1 Thank you for your correction. You have just made the Internet a better place for all of us. I'm sure Danny shall reach out to you personally and thank you for your personal contribution in helping him to 2m.
Nice one Danny, will be trying this today and if it works like your tic toc did for my pitching then happy days, thanks again and keep them coming mate.
Fantastic tips, as usual. I'm going to the range tomorrow to try it. And looks like a good pre-shot routine to try if things aren't going well during a round. And I expect that the Orange Whip would be good to use on the 9 - 3 drill.
Love the videos. Struggling with contact on irons. It actually hurts my hands when i hit irons because of the klank, if you will, from not making proper contact.
This is exactly what I was doing last week and allowing the club to fall at impact which somehow forces you to put power into the down motion. However, your description is far more detailed with the 9 to 3 clock analogy. Top lesson Danny and keep up the good work. Stay well.
Perfect timing Danny. I was so over focused on loading the right elbow in the takeaway and spinning my forearm down as per Pete Cowen's live lesson (because it worked so well the first few times at the range) that I think I've lost the width and rhythm, put my swing way out of sorts. Did the 3-9 swing too after some shanks, good to know that it's the right "reset" button. Back to the drawing board!🤦♂
First off congratulations your viewing numbers. Well deserved. Second, just had to say that I’d watched one of your older videos after this one, randomly. You used the phrase body turns and arms lift. Added to my new tucked in elbow position wow. Just have to stick to this and stop constantly messing around. Great thought for me though as I address ball
This is a great lesson Danny. One question is about shallowing the club on the way down. Can you tell me how that's achieved regarding the circular motion shown in the videos? Thanks.
This 9 to 3 swing has really helped me a lot. Am I correct that on the forward swing the hands are coming down to the trail leg and then the rotation to 3 o’clock takes place?
I have been following for over a year now and this is the most amazing video of all. I do need to ask you a question. When you bring the club back do you use more of your right arm or your left arm during the backswing to guide the club back? Thanks for everything that you do, it is truly awesome.
Your finish in this exercise makes me think of what announcers describe as knock-down shot. Also reminds me of Justin Leonard’s finish position, when he was winning regularly.
I tried this at the range today... I made myself think " wide back, wide through" and made a conscious effort to keep everything as wide as possible I found I was striking the ball really well with divots after the ball. Everything just seemed to 'happen'... 😁
Will need to do this to get back in the game. I was getting better at hitting the ball and than suddenly only topping, duffing, missing, etc. Seems a good lesson practice my swing again. I find it so depressing as a beginner golfer to have these setbacks (is this why it is called golf).😖
I finally broke 100 yesterday, but it was getting late, so I didn’t have time to play the back 9.
😂
Lol
buahahahaha
I’m dying. 😂
A+

One of the best golf instruction videos I’ve viewed for a long time. All makes perfect sense
Love to hear how you get on Luke
One of my favorite UA-cam golf teachers. Thanks for simplifying things Danny. Your lessons are very senior friendly !!
I appreciate that Allan
Your chipping and pitching videos have transformed that part of my game also! I still chunk one occasionally but doing much better. Great teacher !
Great lesson Danny, you make things so uncomplicated and easy to take in. Going to work the 3-9 thing into my warm up before a round . Thanks for all your help best coach on UA-cam 👏👏
This lesson is absolutely pure gold Danny, thank you so much, hope you're well ❤
I tried this out today and it worked for me! Just have to string a few more days together to start to believe. 👍

We now need to practice.
Watching is useful but our own effort IS VITAL.
Absolutely right Alan

@zambha5446 thank you so much. I really so appreciate your comment 🙏🏻
Danny, your video instructions are awesome, simple to understand and apply on the course. Keep providing great your great insights and tips!
@ericfeinberg1293 thank you so much. That’s great. Keep it up 👍🏻
This is one of the best videos on UA-cam. I’ve seen these concepts explained before but made much more complex and confusing.
I did this in my back yard today - it feels like I have so much more time and control. This is so important. This gives the club time to catch up with the hands, has to be a synchronized rhythm with the body and the club. Great lession.
Another great lesson, Danny! Special shout out to Leo for his great post production graphics. Thank you Ryan!
Hi Danny, can you explain how this ties together with the Pete cowen lesson?!! I still believe the Pete cowen way is the way to go, but it is so hard to grasp for the amateur!
Many thanks. Love your videos!

Superb vid yet again. Thank you Danny, what a great teacher. Awesome.
Really kind James thank you
What a great lesson! When are you moving to Colorado??? lol, I mean we do have a brand new multi course Pro quality Golf Course getting started on? Just kidding! Danny excellent comme d habitude 😊. Exercices faciles a comprendre et a executer avec la raison ! Top pedagogie
Danny you are an amazing instructor. Thank you for this video and breaking down the golf swing with a tempo that. makes sense.
Thank you Dan! Appreciate the support 😁
Your videos are so well explained and improve my game every time. Thank you from here in N.Z., I am glad I subscribed.
Your tips are so helpful...really improved the strokes so much
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing

Thank you Francois!
Ughhhhhhh I said I was going to relax today and this video came. And now I just grab a large bucket
After a break over a year and in better shape I felt like a robot. This video helped knock off a lot of rust.
Hey Danny, looking forward to trying these tips next time out! Hoping this warmup routine helps me from the get go, it usually takes 3 to 5 holes to loosen up!
Hope you like it Roger
This is the video I’ve needed. I’ve been struggling with an open club face for a while. And I realized I have to much wrist bend. I will be trying this st the range Friday then using it on a course Sunday.
Great tips Dan, I will using this exercise before every round as well as atvhope
Wonderful to hear
Danny, i tried the 9/3 trick and kept my arms straight on my round if golf today and it was amazing. Played great, apart from my putting! Thanks very much for the great tip!
Thank you Jik 😁
Going to do this drill during my range session today! Thanks Danny
Thanks for giving permission to move one's head during the golf swing, Danny. The "water out of the ear " suggestion is very helpful.
thanks Danny for this, really helpful, unfortunately can't do a mad backswing due to elbow and shoulder injury , this really helped, thanks a mill
Wonderful to hear Jon
Love this approach, Danny. Add speed, but do it smoothly. My best swings happen when i think 50% and pivot through the ball. Really like the way you explain a simple way of swinging without being mechanical.
Thank you John, happy to help
Best coach on you tube everything you say makes so much sense and you make it so easy to understand if you where in Northern Ireland yous be my coach 😊

same thing for my last 2 rounds... felt so rushed and uncoordinated... I love your videos and simple explanations... now I just need to put it into practice sessions and get back to a more free flowing swing.
Was just about to leave for the range, now sat on the sofa haha
Have a great Saturday Craig
Now sitting on the sofa sat is past tense
@silencz1 Thank you for your correction. You have just made the Internet a better place for all of us. I'm sure Danny shall reach out to you personally and thank you for your personal contribution in helping him to 2m.
Yep, happened to me yesterday watching Danny's lesson from Pete Cowen. Still made it out to the range, but 30 minutes later than planned.
Once again a brilliant video, thank you so much. Word for the weekend - "WHOOSH" 😎
Nice one Danny, will be trying this today and if it works like your tic toc did for my pitching then happy days, thanks again and keep them coming mate.
I wish I had a coach like Danny. His explanations are just brilliant.
You do have a coach, it is Danny. Dude every Saturday he teaches me tons.
@@simmo5071 no doubt, I've learnt a lot from Danny just watching his videos. I just wish my coach was this good with me
The Fred Astaire of golf teachers!!! 1 and 2 Great tip.
Thank you 🙏
Fantastic tips, as usual. I'm going to the range tomorrow to try it. And looks like a good pre-shot routine to try if things aren't going well during a round. And I expect that the Orange Whip would be good to use on the 9 - 3 drill.
Absolutely
Love the videos. Struggling with contact on irons. It actually hurts my hands when i hit irons because of the klank, if you will, from not making proper contact.
BINGO ! Great video Danny, I just realized I don't move my head when I swing, no wonder I have no flow!
Brand new golf addict here. My swing is so inconsistent. Great explanation video!
Happy to help
Great Danny. But that flies in the face of the L to L that I have been using as a drill, where the wrist is bent. Your reaction?
This is exactly what I was doing last week and allowing the club to fall at impact which somehow forces you to put power into the down motion. However, your description is far more detailed with the 9 to 3 clock analogy. Top lesson Danny and keep up the good work. Stay well.
Thank you Matt 😁

Amazing
More or less being working on this with pro. Thanks for some drill to reinforce this. 👍
Danny working hard ⛳️ in the rain 🌧️! Thanks for the tip ☔️

Great thought for me though as I address ball
This is a great lesson Danny. One question is about shallowing the club on the way down. Can you tell me how that's achieved regarding the circular motion shown in the videos? Thanks.
Another great video Danny. Thank you ⛳️🏌🏻♂️

Good one Danny.... It does give a good guidance... Let me try in the range now.
Great video Danny, all these tips are really helping me to improve my game. Keep up the great work.
Does this work also with the driver? thank you for this simple and seaming so easely drill! !
This 9 to 3 swing has really helped me a lot. Am I correct that on the forward swing the hands are coming down to the trail leg and then the rotation to 3 o’clock takes place?
Great video, I really need to work on this! Thanks for the great videos!!!👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I've been struggling on my downswing so this video is a godsend. Easy to understand and nice to listen to. Thanks for your work!
I have been following for over a year now and this is the most amazing video of all. I do need to ask you a question. When you bring the club back do you use more of your right arm or your left arm during the backswing to guide the club back? Thanks for everything that you do, it is truly awesome.
It’s different for us all but for me it’s my right
this is the best lesson i have seen brilliant
Good message Danny. Simple but easy to relate too.-Russ

Your finish in this exercise makes me think of what announcers describe as knock-down shot. Also reminds me of Justin Leonard’s finish position, when he was winning regularly.
I tried this at the range today... I made myself think " wide back, wide through" and made a conscious effort to keep everything as wide as possible
I found I was striking the ball really well with divots after the ball. Everything just seemed to 'happen'... 😁
Amazing to hear
Really like your explanations of the golf swing. Thanks so much😁
Thank you Sheila 😁
Will need to do this to get back in the game. I was getting better at hitting the ball and than suddenly only topping, duffing, missing, etc. Seems a good lesson practice my swing again. I find it so depressing as a beginner golfer to have these setbacks (is this why it is called golf).😖
