Yeah, I think that's what I'm going to wind up doing. There's so much to love about this knife, but that is just not gonna cut it for me. I've got too many other knives vying for my 55 bucks, honestly.. Thanks for watching!
I too thought I got a defective knife until I saw all the literature on the product page talking about the floating button and realizing it was on purpose. It doesn't bother me too much anymore after playing with it for a bit. I only notice the wobble now if I actuate the button from certain angles. I think a solution to this is to have an extended collar on the inner side of the button so that it keeps the button on "rails" keeping it from wobbling when extended while still allowing the flex angle of the liner lock actuating bar.
My first V2 arrived yesterday and was defective. The button did not float but was stuck in an angled position which made the button appear to be bent. Also the liner lockup was so weak that it would fail to secure the blade open. (safety hazard) I could have fixed both issues but sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. 1 day later I received the replacement in perfect condition and with the floating button that I do like. It floats on a ball socket. This makes sense because the button shaft angle changes slightly when pushed down on the liner.
The knife looks great but I think a wobbly button would bother me too. I haven't tried any knives that have button actuated liner locks. I wonder if the Smock or RSKaos suffer from a similar problem ... but I doubt it. That hints to me that a solution already exists. Thank you for your honest review!
👍🏼I might have misssd it; so the first version pushing the button wouldn’t let the blade deploy but now it does? Does the wobble ever make the button stick or bind at all? I’m not sure if it would bother me or not. Seems like a spring should push button out firmly. Not sure what’s going on inside. If you like it “enuff” maybe keep & take apart. 🤷♂️? Do you have the first version?
Correct, the first version would not deploy by pressing the button only. I do not have a V1 but have talked with several who have, including the company, and the V1 does not have the wiggly button. It does not stick but every time you touch the button when closing the knife or feels like touching a loose tooth lol..
My buddy at Average Gear reviews said it best last night while I was talking with him. It's like a really loose tooth lol.. thanks for watching brother
Love the blade shape. Peace from Scotland
Thanks for watching! Hope to visit Scotland sometime! 🤘👊
Nice job on the review on this knife. I think that wobbly button would bug me too. I would send them both back. 👍

Yeah, I really tried to get used to it, but it just didn't happen, lol. It's still a wonderful knife, just not for me. Thanks so much for watching!

As someone who's had multiple other brands that use the button actuated liner lock, I just can't get past the "loose tooth" button.

It's sad because otherwise it's such a great blade! Also.. no, the 2 knives you mentioned do not suffer from the same issue. Thank you for watching!

I'm only keeping something I love. Otherwise, it's just going to be taking up space. Cheers 👐
🤘👊💯 Thanks for watching brother!
Very nice
Thanks
Yeah, I believe that button would drive me nuts but I never handled one so I can’t say for sure.
