There’s a place in San Diego called the Japanese Garden. Reminds me of the places that you walked. I would always go there after a long week of work to refresh my brain and relax.
Bucket list item here. For the past several years I've been following a few of those channels that do walking through japan vlogs, (Nippon Wandering TV and Rambalac are two favourites); I love the look of the older architecture, especially in those small back street; and everything is 'so damn clean'. Must have been a whole other level of fantastic to be able to walk through those streets yourself. And as for the coffee shop, yeah mate, you just can't beat them. I used to travel all the way up from Streatham Vale to Tottenham Court Road, to get to the old coffee shop on a weekend, just to sit and enjoy the old style coffee shop. It's all about the experience, and that's why I salute your 20 minute uber ride 👏👏👏👏

Japan is the safest developed country with well-maintained public transportation and free toilets in convenience stores. Japanese toilets are the most comfortable in the world. The temples and shrines in Arashiyama, Kyoto, are the best.
I go to Japan and Korea several times a year. The reason they are taking pics of you especially in Kyoto is likely due to the fact that they think you are some famous athlete with your build.
