That is a great idea...using ax handles. I am one of your Self reliance outfitters customers and your store is where I buy most (not all) of my bushcfaft gear. I have been practicing bushcraft since I was about eleven years old so I rarely see any ideas or lessons that I am not already familiar with, but this idea of using ax handles was brilliant and new to me. Thanks for sharing.
Great job. A saw is much faster than hacking wood with an axe. When I was young my father laughed while I tried to cut a log with an axe then he handed me a bucksaw. There is no doubt a good saw is more efficient than an axe.
Really cool saw I like the center piece with the cut outs. I was able to learn how to make 1 of those off the landscape and finally got the notches right. So it works, Thankyou Dave.
I have watched your videos forever. Used alot of what you have taught. Plan on living in a yurt soon. So much of what I have learned from you will help my family. Thanks dave.
iv been watching your videos for awhile now. just went back and re-watched almost all your trap series videos. just wanted to say i appreciate your work and your videos. i enjoy all your content very much
That is a nice looking buck saw you made with those ax handles and I used a buck saw when growing up with my grandparents and cut plenty of wood with it and the one you made reminds me of it.
Could the tension split the handles ? How about a figure 8 on each end. this would pull from the whole of the handles, not just half of the handles. Small improvement to an amazing idea. Great content as always.
I don't know if you've covered this but what about the subject of if we're in a long term bugout survival situation where we DON'T want rescue and DON'T want to be seen. Thanks
Awesome! The more multi-function use something has the more efficient taking it with you becomes. Are there other tooth pattern blades available? Those folding saws that cut super fast (silky?) - would be nice to have a blade like that for a buck saw kit.
Off topic question. Was looking at your shopping section. Can't find something anywhere. The mora knife sheath mod for ferro rod. Just the mod, I have a few mora knives and want to improve them. Have you seen them anywhere!?
Dave, thank you for your educational videos an safety tips, looks like I'll be making myself a bucksaw In the future, take care, stay healthy an God bless you and your Family always. 👼🏻🇺🇸🔥☕️👼🏻
The amount of outdoorsman knowledge we get from this man is kinda unreal. Big thanks man.
I really like to use a couple key rings for the pins at the end of the blade, install them and they won't fall out, ever. Possible other uses as well.
I liked the ridge line to get it pulled together. Nice matching set
David still impress me to this day for his ingenuity!
Awesome. Thanks for this video.
That's a great idea .thanks gona try it .
Excellent idea. Well thought out.
Excellent video....thank you.

That is a great Idea.
Excellent Video. Thank You for posting it.
Great idea. I’m going to make one
That's a really good idea.
I like the fact there is some leeway and you can adjust the crossbeam if the logs are a bit bigger
The safety comment was well taken. I'll do that from now on. Thanks, Dave!

Wow that is thanking outside the box. Now I have to go to town for some handles to a camp axe.
I love it! It looks good, functional and relatively easy to make. Great idea!

Great video, thanks for this tip.
Very neat idea I would’ve never thought of that
That's fucking clever. If you need to replace the axe handle, you can just put one on the axe and make a new saw handle in the field. Cool concept.
Adding spare axe handles to the shopping list thanks Dave.😁👍
I was just thinking about doing the same thing 👍
I got the boxed set of your books for my birthday, I am really enjoying reading them. Keep up the good work, Dan
Brilliant.....I love both the axe & smartly configured buck saw Dave!
No one does bushcraft better than Dave 👊🏻

Would Key rings be better then bolts because you could Secure it with a para cord so they don’t get lost.Enjoy enjoy your channel very talented!
This I will try for a permanent saw, though it seems to be a multifunctional piece of equipment :)
Thanks for sharing. Love the idea and design.
Extra ax handles can also be used for a quick improvised splint kit in case you break your shin.
