To expand on your comment, Chris Rupp initially left Home Free in 2016 to pursue solo projects, but the opportunity to work with his sister and two other vocalists brought him back to the acapella world. He wasn't just the founder of the group, but he did the majority of the arrangements the first 15 years the group existed. Today, their producer Darren does most of the arrangements. Note to Schnell: he has a You Tube channel of his own and he does reactions to videos. However, he also will do videos from the early Home Free catalog where it's more a behind the scenes.
Chris recently did a reaction to this video where he talked about producing it and gave some "behind the scenes" info. It was very interesting. ... Guy
Oh my beautiful lady, Tim is unbelievable but if you watch Tims right arm you'll see when he's going loooow, he pushes his hand doooown. Thank you for all you ❤ do.✌
Schnell, if you like Tim through those little headphones I suggest you go to a local home stereo store and ask them to play this song on a high end audiophile system. It's a whole different experience when the room shakes!
Adam arranged this and did a fantastic job. IMO- this is the best version of this song. The Ice Castle was located in Eden Praire, Mn. at the time, but Adam says it moves every year. Thank you, for another great reaction!
You should listen Home Free cover "Auld Lang Syne" it like hot velvety chocolate sound, guaranteed to loosen up your back, take care and be good to yourself first.
This one was arranged by Adam (the beatboxer) so not surprising that it really features a lot of percussion & sound effects. This is one of my favorite HF videos (although I always feel really cold when I watch it). I see you noticed Tim's multi-octave drop in about 2 seconds on "bring him silver & gold". Amazing, isn't it?
The one you didn't know, was Adam's brother Chris Rupp. He left and was replaced by Adam Chance, who is known in this group as "Chance". Before Chance, this group was really good, but it was 4 tenors and Tim, with one of the tenors being the human drum kit. Chance fills the middle extremely well as bass and low tenor, freeing Tim up to show his sick range. Chance also helps out with percussion, which used to fall on Adam and Tim. I have loved them since the Sing Off, and love them even more now. Check out their latest "Warmest Winter"!
This is one of my favorites. Adam did an incredible job arranging! Wait till you hear their version of O Holy Night, gives me chills every time I listen (which has been hundreds of times). You thought Austin brought it in this one, you’ll be floored in O Holy Night.
This is my favorite Christmas song, and has been for years. Home Free is now my favorite version of the song. Chris Rupp, as mentioned by others, left for a solo career and has some wonderful videos on his channel. Chris Rupp What Child is This Feat Home Free is all 6 of them together. Thanks! ^_^
This person is Adams brother and with him founder of the group Chris Rupp...After many years two brothers gathered THE GODS of voices and showed what is the singing mean :-)
Welcome back, beautiful human. Take care of yourself. Backs are treacherous. You don't want to go backwards. That being said, excellent reaction as always.
Dear Schnell, so sorry to hear about your injury (WHILE YOU WERE TRYING TO STAY HEALTHY). That is Adam's brother Chris Rupp that helped start the group in Minnesota. He was also in Ring Of Fire with Avi Kaplan. He decided to leave the group to try a solo career. Ironically he has a reaction channel now. I HAVE to tell you, You haven't heard Tim's lowest. PLEASE react to Home Free Your Man Crazy Life Tour. It HAS to be that version. There is comedy and Tim actually RATTLES the SPEAKER! For my tree I had a Classmate/DEAR Friend provide me with an old fashioned looking artificial green tree and a HUGE set of Handmade Old Fashion Ornaments to hang. Then I add lights to it each year. (IT is SO BEAUTIFUL) 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓🎄😃
Vocal coaches all say the rarest voice of all is a really good bass. But even more rare, a good basso profundo. Like going for a walk on the beach and picking up a Spanish Doubloon from the 1600's. That rare. That's Tim.
Remember, if you are jumping around in their catalogue, Chris Rupp is the baritone in the earlier videos, and Adam Chance is the bass/baritone in the later ones. And most of them jump between short and long hair over the years. Except Rob, the beard is eternal
Great reaction. The Ice Castles always were part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, but they now have started moving it to different places. Home Free's version of O Holy Night is another great one to check out.
When Tim say the line "Let us bring him silver and gold" the super deep note on the word "gold" is a Growled E1! The first really low Growl note is a G1, and the one at the end an F1.
You missed the end of the video where they were explaining who arranged it it was Adam that arranged this song and it was a ice castle in Minnesota that they filmed it at
Tim does his famous growl in this one and it’s truly amazing he is the master at it it’s not that hard to do it’s very easy to learn but hard to be that good
Yes I know right his ability to go from singing and then holding out such a low growl is amazing it’s so hard for me I can’t hold them near as long as he can
Tim' s vocal abilities make it a pleasure to listen to. It comes to him naturally. It's not enjoyed as much when a singer is obviously forcing their voice to go where it is just not naturally meant to go, either low or high. I freely admit that I have been spoiled with the natural ease that makes him so special. If you watch his face when he is singing, he is so relaxed, no stress. That is what makes it just a joy to listen to. I hope you're feeling better and I hope you have a great New Year!
I don't know if anyone else has noticed but a good give away when Tim is hitting or about to hit a low note he always brings his arm down palm facing the floor
This is by far my favorite Home Free song. Tims voice is just Awesome and great !! But Austin high clear tenor never fails to give chiils down my spine !!!! His voice just comes out so clear in allmost all of their songs. He is such a joy to watch live, his love of singing and his energy come through so well to the audience.
I’m so glad you’re back is feeling better!! I’m also happy you’re starting the Christmas music with Home Free! This is my favorite song from Full of Cheer/Full of (Even More) Cheer albums! (1st one with Chris, 2nd one with Chance, after Chris left). Adam arranged this song!! There’s so much going on in parts of the song, and they pulled out all the stops on it!! It’s amazing!!! The part toward the end of the bridge with Austin’s high and Tim’s low simultaneously is awesome!! They have 2 recent Christmas videos out. Someone below mentioned “Cold Hard Cash”, which is really delightful and is humorous. The 2nd is a live video from their Christmas special. They performed the Alabama cover of “Christmas in Dixie” with Alabama! It’s beautiful!!
That was insane one of my favorites Christmas song I've heard from anyone so far this year. Love your reactions Take it easy with your back just because it only hurts a little it still hasn't heeled up. Stay Safe ❤️❤️❤️
I second or third or fourth you getting a copy of "Auld Lang Syne" - Perfection - the bell tone sounds and harmonies are totally out of bounds! Tim has a 5-octave range - that is how he does it!!!
What's happening is you're watching videos that were made 3 years apart or more. Check the release dates on the original videos. This is more or less what happens when you're the last one to get to the party. It happens frequently to those who have no clue. However, getting on the bandwagon late is still good enough to enjoy what Home Free offers, and this is one of their best. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer did the arrangement for this recording. He is gifted in many ways.
Welcome back. I've been waiting for another Home Free reaction from you. Actually, Adam arranged this one which they tell you at the end of video. The one you did not know is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother who was founder of group.
Even though they are more work, how could you prefer a fake tree?!!! The thing that makes a tree for me is the scent of pine! Accept no substitutes!!!!
Yeah, that is Chris Rupp. He has left the band. I didn't realize it, but this viseo is 5 years old. Before Adam Chance. I was looking for him the first time I saw this video. LOL, time flies. WOW!!!
I'm a new subscriber will be for life and I just have to say which is prolly said by all others here I just love your reactions specially to Home Free songs.its like you know what's about to happen but are surprised everytime I just love that genuine reaction. You've got a new subscriber today and one for life.
Chris Rupp , Adam Rupps brother is who that is, they formed the group in college together, but around 2016 Chris left the group to do a solo career and also formed a group with their sister Tristen Rupp called "7th Ave." it is mostly not acapella and most of his stuff is not either, but he is very creative and has done some great stuff. In older Home Free videos you will see Chris instead of Chance, in newer videos you will see Chance doing the baritone/bass.
SJ - loved the reaction - love to see your facial expressions when Tim hits to low-low-low notes. Chris Rupp and brother Adam - started the group and Chris left to pursue his own solo career and is a great vocalist in his own right - then Adam Chance (Chance as we call him now) took his place. I really like your vocals too - you have a great voice. You need to react to their new \Christmas song :"Cold Hard Cash for Christmas" for a really fun time.... Happy Holidays and glad your back is a little better! RichieC
We’ve missed you Schnell! So happy you’re feeling better😁😁 this is actually one of my favorite Christmas covers period along with pentatonix cover of Mary did you know. And it did feel like forever since your last video lol but that’s ok cause health comes first! And I’m with you who really cares whether it’s a fake tree or real tree it’s the spirit of Christmas that matters lol. Awesome video my friend and again we’re so glad your back in good health! All love ❤️
You got your answer. This is an older video and the person you didn't recognize is Chris Rupp, who is Adam (the beat boxer) Rupp's brother. He was actually a founding member of Home Free, but left the group, for some reason, to go sing with another group. Adam Chance ("Chance") came in as Chris' replacement.
Hi Schnell, it's Chris Rupp as the other guys already answered. What's amazing for me is that's look like everyone in the group can arrange music titles. This one is arranged by Adam Rupp, as you can hear on the effects and i bet "Man of constant sorrow" is also from him. Best is that it seems nobody has a limit. In special Adam Rupp who seems to can top even Austin on high notes, as i heard in "How great thou art" (maybe worth a reaction ... :-D ). For the question: It is a real christmas tree or none. The smell is the thing and that it is a living thing, as we all are. Greetings from Germany and i hope you do better ...
The "new" member is Chris Rupp, Adam's Brother. They started Home Free in Minnisota 18 years ago. After their Sing Off victory Chris left to start a solo career. Adam Chance joined in 2017, replacing him.
Putting aside this phenomenal video/music for one second, I just had to mention your incredible smile and smoldering eyes. Candy for the ears AND the eyes. 🤗
That's Chris Rupp Adam's Brother these two started Home Free, Chris Left in 2016 and even suggested that they have Adam Chance as his replacement. this song was actually released in 2014
Not in person. I paid a hell of a lot of money to see them in person, and was bitterly disappointed. In person, they sound NOTHING like their recorded music.
Schnell, YOU ARE A HOME FRY FOR CERTAIN NOW :). That carol, just brings everything together. That was Chris Rupp, Adam's real life brother, and Home Free's founder. H left Home Free in May of 2016 to pursue a solo career. He has his own youtube channel, and he has some super music on his channel, including a collab with Tim, singing the old Alabama hit "Angels among us" which I highly recommend you react to...you will love it
Your reactions to Tim’s low notes tho. 🤣 Adorable. We’ve done the artificial tree for years. Real trees are awesome, but messy. Can’t wait to hear your new song. 😊
Dear Schnell, I forgot to tell you that you will Laugh and or Giggle like I did when I was a schoolgirl if you react or even just watch Pentatonix Sing-Along Deck The Halls. Just like Karaoke the sing along shows the words and it cracks me up how many Fas and Las are in this version. There are a number of other sing along Christmas songs but as I said the one for Deck The Halls is SOOOO Funny🎶👱♀️👗👠👠🎄😊😃😃😃💓
You might mean Chris Rupp, Founding member of Home Free. If you recognized him the Adam Chance is who stepped up to fill his shoes when he left. Appearing in the video , Adam Chance, Adam Rupp, Austin Brown, Tim Foust, Chris Rupp and Rob Lundquist.
Chris Rupp, search him on UA-cam and listen to Tim's farewell speech to him on his new life choices leaving the group, it's funny and very emotional. 😁 Pay homage to him, he's the reason you're enjoying Home Free today.
Love your reactions! Did you hear that?“ No - I FELT that!.... "I feel like you need headphones to hear that“. No - you need a seismometer to hear that. 😂
You really have that capacity and you should have..and it's natural that you should not be the first..because you are both beautiful and you have a good voice and you are attractive..so I can tell you with confidence..you are one of the first female UA-camrs ..Because you had the merits ... ✌✌🧡🧡😊😊
Home Free was started by Chris and Adam Rupp. Chris Rupp (a tenor) left the group in 2016 to pursue other interests and was replaced by baritone/bass Adam Chance (we call him Chance so as not to confuse him with Adam Rupp, the beatboxer). This is one of my favorite songs by them and Adam’s arrangement is superb. I love the venue too. Tim’s low notes are crazy good and we’re with you on his voice. And in that one sequence he starts out high and goes low. I know....how does he do that? Take care of yourself. We are in Colorado and it’s so dry here it’s best to use an artificial if you want your tree up for awhile. I love to decorate so I have a white tree and it’s beautiful. Try O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard On High, Christmas from DIxie (with Alabama) for Christmas. Others I would recommend: I Can’t Outrun You, Yours (to hear Chance’s low notes), In The Blood, What We Need Is Love, Auld Lang Syne. Keep enjoying Home Free!
Welcome back...missed your regular reactions...so here's my suggestion, I think you should do a back-to-back-to back on Pentatonix to start the Christmas season. "Making Christmas" (an adaption of Tim Burton's Nightmare of Christmas; "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"; then "White Winter Hymnal"...collectively, they are only about 8+ minutes in total. These will highlight their harmonization, synchronizations, creativity, and just pure talent !! Additionally, they just released "The 12 Days of Christmas"....will surprise the heck out of you !!! STAY HEALTHY !!
When I was a kid I loved the real Christmas tree. The smell of pine, the sensory input of a real tree was brilliant. As an adult, I don't know if I would do it in the same fashion my parents did. Probably an artificial tree for me. If anything I might decorate a pine tree outside and have a campfire on Christmas eve, with the obligatory 1 present opening for the kids.
Hello from Tennessee! Chris Rupp (Adam's Older Brother-wearing the flat hat) is one of the founders of the group. You will see him in many of the original/earlier videos. He left the group and Adam Chance is his replacement. Some of their earlier videos you will see them both (Chris and Adam - House Party being the main one). Glad you're feeling better...Stay safe, healthy and blessed!! Artificial trees are what we use........hmmmmmmm
Hello beautiful human SJ! Thought I'd send another shout out for you to react to Home Frees original song "Warmest Winter" written and sung by Austin Brown.....very heartfelt and nostalgic for this time of year. Brilliant harmonies and touching story revealing a little of Austins childhood - really sweet..... Merry Christmas! RichieC
Artificial Christmas tree for me. No mess, and only have to buy once instead of every year. Only downside is you don't get the wonderful Christmas tree smell.
If you have cats, a real one will leave sap on their fur when they try to climb it. This was arranged by Adam Rupp, Chris sings baritone and tenor, he also took over for Time in some of the bass line. What Child Is This, features all 6 guys and is under Chris Rupp featuring Home Free. It was filmed in the caves in St. Paul, Minnesota. The caves have a reputation during prohibition in the U.S., and can be touredif you visit. The run that Tim did from to reach that low growl is awesome to listen to. You'll have to watch this again to really hear all the nuances of their harmonies.
That’s Adam’s brother, Chris. Him and Adam started home free. He now sings in another group called 7th Avenue with his sister tristin

I didn’t know about his group with his sister I can’t wait to check them out!
@@heathersharo5294 They did a disco version to Can't Stop the Feeling that I highly recommend
@@mistermoneyinthebanktylers3111 Chris's voice is amazing.
That is Chris Rupp, Adam’s big brother. The two of them started the group. Chris left for another group, and was replaced by Chance.
No he went off on his own....don't think he is with anyone else....himself i think
He was with a group (not 100% accapella), called 7th Avenue right after he left HF, but I think he’s on his own now. You should check them out!
He actually left to go solo, then started the group 7th Av with his sister and the other 2 people, back to solo now.
Adam arranged this and did a fantastic job. IMO- this is the best version of this song. The Ice Castle was located in Eden Praire, Mn. at the time, but Adam says it moves every year. Thank you, for another great reaction!
There is much complexity in this arrangement. You have to listen to it multiple times to truly appreciate it.
One of their best
You should listen Home Free cover "Auld Lang Syne" it like hot velvety chocolate sound, guaranteed to loosen up your back, take care and be good to yourself first.
Indeed!
I second that
This one was arranged by Adam (the beatboxer) so not surprising that it really features a lot of percussion & sound effects. This is one of my favorite HF videos (although I always feel really cold when I watch it). I see you noticed Tim's multi-octave drop in about 2 seconds on "bring him silver & gold". My god, how can one woman be this beautiful inside and out.
Love ya ♥️
The best song they ever made!! So relaxing! Beatboxing is phenomenal! The song makes you feel it peace.Just beautiful.
I get the feeling that Tim's actual speaking voice is in the sub-vocal range and that he has to RAISE it so the rest of us can hear it...
Tim has a 5 octave range and is incredible.
This is my favorite Christmas song, and has been for years. Home Free is now my favorite version of the song. Chris Rupp, as mentioned by others, left for a solo career and has some wonderful videos on his channel. Chris Rupp What Child is This Feat Home Free is all 6 of them together. Thanks! ^_^
Yes it’s a great one.
When Tim goes that low with his voice, it's less hearing it and more feeling the vibration of it.
This person is Adams brother and with him founder of the group Chris Rupp...After many years two brothers gathered THE GODS of voices and showed what is the singing mean :-)
Their version of O Holy Night is another great song to listen to.
That would be Chris Rupp. He left Home Free around 4 years ago and was replaced by Adam Chance
He does a video talking about the filming of this, it’s very cool!

Magnificent arrangement and performance. Simply beautiful. Great reaction.
When Tim say the line "Let us bring him silver and gold" the super deep note on the word "gold" is a Growled E1!

Lotta work, but the authentic scent of a real tree is priceless
Even though they are more work, how could you prefer a fake tree?!!! The thing that makes a tree for me is the scent of pine! Accept no substitutes!!!!

Another good one that is more recent from Home Free is “Tennessee Christmas” with Rachel Wammack. It has your real Christmas trees.
Geoff castelucci has a video on his channel about how to go that low.
Tim has one as well. I've seen Geoff's, but not Tim's yet. My son, a teen-age bass singer has seen both, as well as Geoff's follow up video.

They make every song they sing so much better.
Home Free Seven Bridges Road, great harmony
Not in person. I paid a hell of a lot of money to see them in person, and was bitterly disappointed. In person, they sound NOTHING like their recorded music.
Geoff Castellucci, UA-cam video, "How to sing REALLY low. A short Tutorial."; He credits Tim for teaching him.
Love the real tree, mostly for the smell. Hate the cleanup of it.
Schnell, YOU ARE A HOME FRY FOR CERTAIN NOW :). That carol, just brings everything together. That was Chris Rupp, Adam's real life brother, and Home Free's founder. H left Home Free in May of 2016 to pursue a solo career. He has his own youtube channel, and he has some super music on his channel, including a collab with Tim, singing the old Alabama hit "Angels among us" which I highly recommend you react to...you will love it
HI Kevin! Thank you for sharing! :)
Your reactions to Tim’s low notes tho. 🤣 Adorable. We’ve done the artificial tree for years. Real trees are awesome, but messy. Can’t wait to hear your new song. 😊
CHILLLLLLLLLSSSSS! Music as beautiful as the "reactor".😁
Wonderful reaction. You got your wish, Tim dropping bass bombs all over the place.
These boys are an absolute earful !!
Cool!!! An A Cappella, Yes-i-fied Christmas carol!!!! That other guy is Adam's brother Chris.
The mysterious man is Chris Rupp, Adam''s brother.
Schnell, the first time I heard Home Free, I was in love
Nice reaction. I'm glad you're feeling better.
I live alone.I have a wreath on the front door with a green Crown Royal bag in it. My special Santa door mat says bring back a warrant
Chris Rupp, search him on UA-cam and listen to Tim's farewell speech to him on his new life choices leaving the group, it's funny and very emotional. 😁 Pay homage to him, he's the reason you're enjoying Home Free today.
I would love to see your reaction to their cover of "Sold". Tim has some mean backing vocals in it I think you may appreciate.
I recommend.Ptx God Rest ye Gentleman
Chris Rupp, Adam Rupps brother
The moment when your Bass opens well into Tenor range in chest voice.
Rob really shines in this video!
RichieC
Chris, the one you were asking about was in Ring of Fire, the 2nd video of theirs you reacted to. He moved on. His brother Adam is their beatboxer.
