just don't allow anyone without link can edited, it makes anyone can anonymously without email editing your sheets.

Only if you have private domain, as in yourname.com and have workspace it will work. Otherwise you don't have the permission to acces anonymous gmail usera for their email. That is the reason

If the people you are sharing with are in personal accounts, their emails won´t show. This is the drawback
It will work ok if you work in a workspace account and all users are from the same organization
