How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twice that? Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and some of the greatest never managed it. Lovebites have given us several, and I would put this performance at the top of the list. Thank you for taking the suggestions and doing this.
No matter how many times i watch this one im always amazed by the mood of the song, the overall composition, the gorgeous middle piece and the solo section that follows!! One of my favorite Midori solos too and you can tell by her facial expressions she is feeling it!! 🤘😊 This band is just perfect for me!!
I love this band too and like you I just can't get enough. Not only do they practise to perfection but they know how to write and arrange songs to an epic level.
LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics: Crystal tears Falling from the skies Veiling fears The emptiness inside Time is just passing by Killing me under the soft twilight A frozen melody Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy A distant memory If only this snow could erase the pain I'd wake up in a serenade One life ends And one life begins Evanesce To our origins When I'm lost on my way Lead my heart and guide me with your grace A frozen melody Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy A distant memory If only this snow could erase the pain I'd wake up in a serenade Just like a dream, just like a bird I'll keep on singing out Even if my voice cannot reach you Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away All living things are precious and irreplaceable Just like a dream, just like a bird I'll keep on singing out Even if my voice cannot reach you White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky If only I could wish to see you once more ----- lyrics: asami music: asami & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao album: Electric Pentagram 01/29/2020
A musical Masterclass right there. Including Asami's ballet training on show during the piano and acoustic segment, and Haruna's metronomic drumming plus Miho on bass tying it all altogether. Next suggestion "Today is the Day" from the same 2021 concert. Sometimes overlooked, this is another gem.
I realise that my comment is subjective, but in my opinion, this song is a masterpiece - and belongs in the list of the 100 greatest metal songs ever written. But having said that, I'd also put at least half a dozen other LOVEBITES songs in that same list.
Hell yeah! Thank you so much for doing this one, I know I requested it among others! Love this F song and bands do not pull off performances like this today, that's for damn sure! The talent in this band is off the F charts! I recommend Shadowmaker MV or The Crusade live, which is an Ode to Maiden's Aces High. You just can't go wrong with these ladies. They've taken 80s metal, injected it with Plutonium, creating next generation metal. I like to call it NWOLHM...New Wave of Lovebites Heavy Metal. 🙂 Great reaction! 🤘
Since Electric Pentagram came out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad, Asami wanted acoustic guitar on the track, Miyako recorded the acoustic guitar but Live, Midori has to play it because Miyako is busy on the piano 🤘 Lyrics: Asami Music: Asami and Mao Arrangement: LoveBites/Mao
Seems like we both had gremlins at work in our system today. The buggers! 😅 This is my favourite Lovebites song for oh so many reasons. One is, and it requires special attention, is what Haruna is doing in the last section when Asami comes in with her vocals. Not only the septuplets on the double kicks but what she is doing over top of that with the cymbal. On another level completely. 🤟
There's Lovebites...and then there's LOVEBITES!!❤❤ Thanks for mentioning RacerX. I was there in 87-88 in LA watching them live. Totally thought of them when I first saw Lovebites. Bouillet is such an unrecognized monster. Saw his solo show pre-covid and he had been sick all day(apologized in advance if he throws up on anybody😂) and destroyed for an hour and a half.😮
Glad you returned to my favorite band. Many more songs left to discover. I'm up to knowing 55 songs of their 60 song discography. Besides Miyako's EP of piano cover songs. Recommend - Shadowmaker Live, Winds of Transylvania Live, Glory to the World MV, Judgement Day MV, Stand and Deliver MV, Soldier Stands Solitarily Audio.
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES. Keep LOVEBITES in your future. I am pleased that you show respect for the amount of rehearsal and practice these girls put in every time. In a magazine interview, Miyako , "It's nice to hear so many people praising the talent of our members, but we have worked so hard to get to where we are." These women are unflinching and humble in everything they do. They are also keen to research equipment. I love LOVEBITES not only for their music, but also for their totality as such.
I knew this song was special when I first heard the studio version, but it wasn’t until I saw this live version that it skyrocketed to being my favorite LOVEBITES song. Midori’s solo is beautiful and fierce, just takes my breath away, and then Miyako joins her and they always sound great together. You mentioned Racer X and I get that, but for some reason whenever I think of dual guitar solos, I think of Cacophony with Becker and Friedman. They weren’t around long, but they were the first duo I really heard where both guitarists were monster shredders.
Thanks for the reaction. Thrash songs make up approximately 15-18% of the total number of LOVEBITES songs (about 60 original songs and musical compositions). The rest of the songs are other genres of metal, a little bit of hard rock, classical music, which the band often put together in one song and get masterpieces. 'A Frozen Serenade' is a prime example of this: metal, piano, Spanish guitar, etc., with the addition of a bit of ballet from vocalist Asami (she's a professional ballerina) in concerts.
I can only imagine the hours of practice that goes into playing these superbly written songs....but I so appreciate it!! Like you, I love what these ladies do and it seems I need to hear some every day to keep me 'right!'😀🤘
Great reaction. I could see it in your eyes the sincerity how you love this band. Its the same look that we Lovebites fans have. I just love that Lovebites can take all genres of metal and hard rock and mesh it all together and make it it their own. AND sound good. You barely scratched the surface my friend of what they have to offer. Enjoy the ride 🤘 If you want to check out a party banger and their showmanship is off the chart, awesome gang vocals and great crowd participation. Well then sir check out Raise some Hell (Five of a kind 02/21/2020)
Amazing reaction! Thanks for another Lovebites reaction. Don't mind the clippings or anything else, that's ok, we understand. We all love this band and it seems you've got bitten too, welcome to Lovebites magic. Your reactions are really good, I''m looking forward for the next one!
We told you their songs weren't all thrash. 😁 That disclaimer wasn't wrong. You definitely had 'one of them days' . 🤣 Not laughing AT you, we've all had them. At least you got to hear the song.👍
That is not a blank stare on Miyako's face she is playing and her brain is composing and arranging the next new song for the band....LOL!! Midori really impresses here, acoustic guitar LIVE (Miyako is on the piano and we all know what a demon she is on that) but then goes into her shredding driving habit without even a drop of sweat!!!. The talent in this band is so insane and poor Asami she started off with a ballad and then got blitzed by the M&M show and had it sped up to close out the song. The one thing you have to keep reminding yourself of is that this is LIVE and every song in this set sounds this good and is played this well.
Love your reactions!!! If you want to see the band have some fun and interact with the crowd, great solos again, then Raise Some Hell would be a great song to check out. When I first heard them, the song Thunder Vengeance was the first song and loved it. Just couldn't understand what she was saying. My second Lovebites discovery was Raise Some Hell. Asami's English is perfect in this song, they rock, and it is easy to fallow and have a great time listening to it. Frozen Serenade is becoming that slow song that one can rock out to for me. Each time I listen to it, it gets better and better!!!
I was channel shifting today just to put something on TV while I get ready to get out of the house. There was Sumo wrestling on the Japanese channel, so I left that on. About an hour or so later, just as soon as we were heading out the door, I see Lovebites on the TV! They were doing an interview. I don't know if they performed as well. I wanted to watch it but wife might think it's fishy if I stood there watching even though I don't understand Japanese, lol... that's my Lovebites story of the day.
This song is from "Heavy metal never dies - Live in Tokyo 2021", concert held on March 26 at Tokyo Dome City. Available in digital, cd, dvd and blu ray format. They did this concert under severe restrictions because of the covid. So the crowd can only clap and the capacity was only 50%. Please subscribe to their channel The setlist is: 01. Ride For Vengeance (Intro) 02. When Destinies Align 03. The Crusade 04. Golden Destination 05. Set The World On Fire (*) 06. Shadowmaker 07. Today Is The Day (*) 08. Winds Of Transylvania (*) 09. Spellbound (*) 10. The Unbroken (*) 11. A Frozen Serenade (*) 12. Swan Song 13. Glory To The World (*) 14. The Apocalypse 15. MDO 16. Don’t Bite The Dust 17. Holy War 18. Thunder Vengeance 19. Under The Red Sky ( * Live first performance)
i seriously doubt that there is one band that exists now that could play this incredible masterpiece as well as LOVEBITES does. so hard to pick a favorite song by them but this definitely qualifies just from a standpoint of so many varied styles played here. i started listening to all kinds of music around 1959 and have been to too many concerts to name but they may in fact be the best live band out of all of them. saw jethro tull 3 times in the early 70's and they were probably my favorite live band but these ladies are right there with them. now if they will come to the states just once then my bucket list will be complete
Great reaction. It is obvious that you are very skillful on guitar, now you have to learn how to play piano then. I also love Miho's bassline of this song. We'll see you soon.
Should do Swan Song with Chopin intro. As some one who took piano for several years. The speed and accuracy she plays both with. I suppose they could edit and mistake. But i doubt either Midori or Miako have any mistakes.
shame about the various calamities that befell this recording…this of all pieces. But you got a little closer to understanding why you see the same names in the comments time after time. Talent, versatility, personality and excellence deserves loyalty, and in my experience, this fan base is uniquely loyal. I know there are bigger and more vocal fan communities, but this one doesn’t rely on strength in numbers, but rather strength of feeling. So if you “really really love this band” then you “really really” need to learn their names. I don’t care how many other bands you react to that would make remembering of names a bit of a handful. This is Lovebites…not any other band.
A true masterpiece of song by Lovebites
How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twice that? Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and some of the greatest never managed it. LOVEBITES make me HAPPY 😊
They will sound even better when you learn their names.
No matter how many times i watch this one im always amazed by the mood of the song, the overall composition, the gorgeous middle piece and the solo section that follows!!

A Masterpiece that will stand the test of time.
LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
Veiling fears The emptiness inside
Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
One life ends
And one life begins
Evanesce
To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

Today Is the Day is a terrific suggestion!
I realise that my comment is subjective, but in my opinion, this song is a masterpiece - and belongs in the list of the 100 greatest metal songs ever written. But having said that, I'd also put at least half a dozen other LOVEBITES songs in that same list.
Lovebites best heavy metal band

This song is so amazing, what other band could pull this off?
Since Electric Pentagram came out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad, Asami wanted acoustic guitar on the track, Miyako recorded the acoustic guitar but Live, Midori has to play it because Miyako is busy on the piano 🤘

The guitarists often get the lion's share of the attention, but as you point out, Haruna is a really, really good drummer.

The part midori plays after the acoustic part always gives me goosebumps. You can feel the emotion in sound❤

It’s missing the piano intro
This song has a big problem .. the middle part (accoustic) is just waaaaaaay too short 😥😥😭😭
I hope what you were listening to wasn't what you uploaded
A/C is also affecting you're video quality chap! It keeps glitching.
