In this case it’s not main, but auxiliary diesel generator. You would call DG main if you had diesel-electric propulsion. We call devices “main” if it serves the purpose of propelling the ship. I know in engineering practice it is minor thing, but when I was in school using correct names was of crucial importance for the professors.
Yes it is really important to have proper name for machineries i call main diesel generators because they supply main switchboard and emergency switch board.
Emergency diesel generator supply only emergency switch board and can't be main diesel generator.
In our vessel the name for this generator are auxiliary diesel generators i use the name main to be better understand where they supply of power will be distributed.
Ok if somebody says a diesel generator let's say diesel machine this is a problem to understand what he is saying or if somebody calls diesel generator purifier ))))) i have seen that onboard.
Or chief engineers can't describe properly the parts and the equipment this is really crucial.

Dear Sir, I have some question to ask. In Start air system, why don't we start hand pump instead emergency start compressor? if not, which situation we can use hand pump?

@@lamtran2403 emergency generator can only be started either by battery starting or hydraulic which is the hand pump It does not have connection from starting air.

Hello there is only one version as i have check that works it is MC90-V_Simulator_-_2.5.1.0228 so paste the crack there and will be fine
