Some more amazing shots on this one! I love the layered views where each mountain is a different color of blue. Also, thanks for the powder smooth suggestion! I'll look into adding this to my meal plan on my next adventure.
The Kencko smoothies are awesome. I’ve been having them with breakfast on trail for all of my latest adventures and they’ve been working out really well for me.
I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now. I’ve done a few backpacking trips and I hope to hike the wonderland trail next summer. I’ll be by myself and I’m both excited and nervous. But as long as I can secure a permit I’ll be out there. Thank you for posting and sharing your adventures
I think my base weight for this trip was 21 lbs? I’ll put together a whole video featuring the gear I used on this trip after this video series. As for bear worries, we didn’t have any. We used the bear poles and/or bear box at each camp to store our food and scented items. We didn’t see a single bear on our trip, but they’re out there!
I am enjoying your Wonderland Trail series!!! Such a beautiful closing scene of the mountain and lake reflection. Those steep grades are grunts aren't they? My general rule is anything steeper than an elevation gain of 1,000ft per 1 mile of trail is sure to be a suffer-fest.
It was quite the sufferfest, but it was 100% worth it for the amazing views. What a beautiful trail. So happy I finally got to do this one this year. ❤️
Thanks for sharing, looks amazing! Really just curious, how do the fish and other creatures in the alpine lakes like the sunscreen and bug spray that some hikers use? ( I'm assuming some washes off their bodies when they swim.)
A quick rinse away from the lake to get the sunscreen and bug spray off first before jumping in an alpine lake is HIGHLY recommended. Hope that answers your question!
I noticed one of the girls wearing the knee tape, did that help her out alot? I have bad knees and trying to prepare them for this hike the best I can ;) Love your videos!
Yes, she said the tape helps her out a lot, especially on this trip with all of the steep ascents and descents. The tape helps hold the knees in place, giving them extra support and love. Hope that helps!
silliest of questions. What is that clear silicone looking atatchment/ tube thingy on the end of your sawyer? I am constantly spilling when i try to fill my bottle. probably becsure i am clutzy and impatient.
Not a silly question at all! This is part of the adapter kit I used for refilling my hydration reservoir without having to take it out of my pack. I left the end on because it makes for easy and direct filtering. Here’s the link for the kit: Sawyer Fast Fill Hydration Pack Adapter Kit amzn.to/33BbbWy
@@TheHungryHiker I will! Owe you a thanks for all the help!! Just saw your groups pic in the wonderland trail group I’m in on fb! Pretty sure Uhaul posted it lol.

I'll have to pass on the Kencko smoothie packets. I visited the website but you can't see the product selection or pricing until you enter your name, email & etc. My mailbox is already stuffed with unsolicited, unwanted junk mail. I don't need anymore.
Thank for sharing. Hopefully you will get to the Timberline trail, it is a lot of fun . Lots of stream and river crossings.
I’ve heard it’s a pretty tough trail and that it changes each year.
@@TheHungryHiker we did it counterclockwise. That way we did not have the last miles uphill and in sand!
I Love all your videos. Wish I could be there with you on all your trips.
Thank You Take Care and be SAFE
Thank you!!
Such beautiful views and mixed with your music choices for this video, gives me chills and tears! Love it, so great to see your trips and adventures!!
Awesome views! Thanks
The video doesn’t do the real thing justice, but I tried to convey what we saw out there.
I cannot express to you how inspirational your videos are for me!! Thank you!!!
This is awesome. Thank you!!
Well there it is. Gotta toss my hat into this lottery. Outstanding scenery
Yes you do! This trail was quite scenic and extremely magical. ❤️
Jaw-dropping scenery on this section of the trail. Thanks for taking us along!
Excellent description! Postcards are nice pictures are better but actually being there to witness it in person 😳🤯🤩
Thanks for watching! 😀
Another great episode thanks for sharing .
Yay! Glad you liked this one!

great video - great music pairings - and as always great info on food! This really looked like a nice trip, Wonderland indeed!
Thank you!
Beautiful and I do hate blowdowns
Blowdowns are the worse!!
6:00 wow this is awesome. Would love to hike this area
This was definitely a bucket list hike for me. ❤️
spectacular
It was quite spectacular out there and each day, the trail kept getting better and better.
Mind blown! So incredible!
The soundtrack the last few videos with the blow downs legit made me giggle. 😂
Now you know the soundtrack that goes through my head when having to navigate up, around and under blowdowns. Hahaha!
Hey that place looks awesome
That’s because it is!! 😊

Thanks for following along and glad I could provide some inspiration for you planning your own solo trips.
Listening to The Wall on a steep climb...I could see that transporting you out of yourself when its hard. I like Enya perhaps for similar reasons.
Once you’re able to find your climbing soundtrack, you’ll be able to climb anything and actually enjoy it. 😀
@@TheHungryHiker Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that.
Those views. 😍
They were quite amazing!
Wow! this is amazing, I did the timberline trail this year, you just inspired me to try the wonderland next year!
The Timberline Trail is on my hiking list!!
I miss it so much!!!!!

I have a very hard time eating enough vegetables on trail. Dried fruits all the way but dried veggies? 😳 What's your quick veggie intake?
I just started using the Kencko powdered smoothies out on trail and they’re awesome. Check out the link in the video description below.

so where are you hiding the song list or is it copyrighted so you cant post them ?
got it ,i put my headphone on my mobile on google search now i know :) sorry could wait

@@TheHungryHiker Yes! Thank you!
Hey Kathleen, are you allowed to catch fish for food or recreation in any of the lakes, streams, or ponds you pass by?
Good question. I’m not 100% sure. You’d have to contact the rangers for that one.
@@TheHungryHiker ok thanks I'll start looking into that aspect I'm not ready to take in a long hike but it gives me something to aim for 😄👍

Not sure if I've missed but did you use food caches? If so, what did you store them in? 5 gallon bucket?
I talk about food caches along with all the rest of the preparations I did for this trip in this video: ua-cam.com/video/tsPG9bT1xnI/v-deo.html

I feel like I would ll e everything about backpacking except for the bug bites. Your poor legs 😭
The bugs love to eat me alive. Every single time I go out on trail, I get bug bites. 😢
