SOCR + Gas is the highest damage so much more consistently in every situation. Just costs more, but at rank 5s blow for blow, they're all good and it doesn't matter. It's literally negligible and all are capable of clearing the same content, but SOCR + Gas will consistently be the fastest / best in most situations, especially at max ranks. @@Doomeris If you have a cage helmet and the new Shrapnel LMG, the combination of SOCR and a beret is likely unnecessary in terms of sustainability. In practice, when comparing Gas-tight to a beret, the damage output of Gas-tight is superior.
I just dont get it if the SOCR + explosive shrapnel is a good combo for real. You really need crit rate + crit dmg for the srapnel procs and damage overall, and by the next step you'll want to increase your shrapnel dmg itself, so the gaslight helmet looks like an intuitive choice? - - - - - - - Say, you have 50% crit count, exactly every second hit is a crit and all other stats are the same, X is bonus shrapnel dmg, A is crit dmg, weapon dmg goes as 1. So normal shrapnel hits for (0.5+X) dmg, crit shrapnel hits for (A+0.3)(0.5+X) dmg - so for the explosive shrap proc you'll go with Cage [+2 +3 +2 +3 +2 +3 +2 +3 BANG], 8 hits to do; with Gas [+2 ... +2 BANG], 10 hits to do; both dealt 20 shrapnel hits, both dealt 10 crit and 10 normal shrapnel hits. On the same count distance, like 40 hits (and same amount of weakpoint hits), Cage goes 5 explosions and Gas goes 4 explosions, both did 20 normal hits and 20 crits. So in this time Cage does 20+20(0.5+X) + 20A+20(A+0.3)(0.5+X) + 5(A+0.3)(0.5+X+3), and Gas does 20+20(0.5+(1+1.2)X) + 20A+20(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X) + 4(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X+3); or, simply, "Cage is better than Gas by" 1.05 + 3.5A - 27.8AX - 32.34X. If crit damage A stays the same and bonus shrapnel dmg X goes up, it means Gas perfomance goes better and better as well. So, in these conditions, when Cage and Gas deal the same dps? 1.05 + 3.5A - 27.8AX - 32.34X = 0 X = (1.05 + 3.5A) / (32.34 + 27.8A) Aaaaand now, if we use a graphic calculator here, it goes that X>0 with any A possible (A>0, obviously). When X is higher than the graphic's line, Gas perfoms better than Cage, and the graphic has the horisontal asymptote is at around 0.12589928. So it means that Gas is guaranteed better than Cage at 50% crit rate if you have more than 12.6 bonus shrapnel dmg, if I added +120% Gas multiplier right. Or you can sheck how much bonus shrapnel dmg you should have by the X > (1.05 + 3.5A) / (32.34 + 27.8A) formula (A is your total crit dmg). - - - - - - - At 100% crit rate it will be Cage dealing 3 shrapnels every hit and exploding every 6th or 7th hit, so on the same count distance, like 20 hits, it will be: Cage 60 shrapnel hits, 3 explosions; Gas 40 shrapnel hits, 2 explosions. In this time Cage does 20A + 60(A+0.3)(0.5+X) + 3(A+0.3)(0.5+X+3), and Gas does 20A+40(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X) + 2(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X+3). "Cage is better than Gas by" (A+0.3)(13.5-29.4X) Same process: bonus shrapnel dmg X goes up, the gape in the perfomance between Cage and Gas goes down. Cage and Gas here will be as good when 13.5-29.4X=0 or X = 0.4592. Cage and Gas are as good at bonus srapnel dmg equal 46% when crit rate is 100%, and when your bonus shrapnel dmg is bigger - Gas mask is better. - - - - - - - Now, there are three things here: first, I really hope I didn't messed this up; second, I really don't know what conclusion I should make here; third, I really hate equations with three or more variables. And I don't have any juice left to build up a formula for the "crit rate is not a fixed value" here. - - - - - - - I guess I'd like to say "for me the Gas Tight Mask seems to be better in the most realistic situations here, but no promises". This math is freaknig me off.
Based on this video It really depends on your weapon choice: LMG - Cage Helmet SOCR - Barret MP7 - Cage Helmet Pistol - Barret for budget or Cage Helmet if you are using explosive shrap Mod Blue AK - Barret for budget or Cage Helmet if you are using explosive shrap Mod Gas-Tight can only really be useful on the Pistol or AK IF you want another multiplier for damage and not another damage proc. they almost amount to the same but matter when it comes to mod triggers.
@@thejesteramongfools it cant depend though. The nature of the question implies one answer which is what weapon and armor combo has the highest dps output.
@@Doomeris well yea, but my question was much more blanket like assuming you have everything min maxed what is the currently highest dps build for shrapnel in terms of armor + weapon combo? For example does the new lmg out dps socr when we compare their most min maxed builds?
Dusty isn't going to preform like the LMG or Socr and if you are looking for an early build the AK requires less investment. That said I did try to make a weakspot built with the dusty the problem is with all that weak point you would want the shrap to be hitting weakspots as well the only mod that helps that doesn't guarantee it which is what you would want. Either way you want cage or barret because they give you double procs. If you plan to use the explosive mod then use the Cage since it will cut your needed procs to 10 instead of 20. Hope that helps
@@thejesteramongfools the selling point of the dusty is that the shrap is unique and can hit already hit parts, unlike the other shrap guns. read description on it again.
@diamondbackspartan3204 right like weakspot however the mod that helps this the 300% weak spot influence one doesn't guarantee it. (which it would be better if it did) the explosion one would need 60% of the mag or more depending on set up and no other good mods for shrapnel exist. So you then pair it with the bingo or the wildfire and at the end of the day you would just get more damage using those alone. sorry to say there just isn't a good build with it. Maybe one you could do content with. maybe one you could even clear some things solo with some effort but not like true builds. It needs more support like maybe on there they add a line of like "200% weight for weak spot shrapnel hit" to Dusty itself then you pair it with the 300% mod and you might have something but for now it's a early build at best.
@@thejesteramongfools look at the latest G17 videos, thing is sick. And like every other pistol they just wreck regardless. THe mod you want on the dusty isnt the one you're talking about.

At 100% crit rate it will be Cage dealing 3 shrapnels every hit and exploding every 6th or 7th hit, so on the same count distance, like 20 hits, it will be:
Cage 60 shrapnel hits, 3 explosions; Gas 40 shrapnel hits, 2 explosions. In this time Cage does 20A + 60(A+0.3)(0.5+X) + 3(A+0.3)(0.5+X+3), and Gas does 20A+40(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X) + 2(A+0.3)(0.5+(1+1.2)X+3).
"Cage is better than Gas by" (A+0.3)(13.5-29.4X)
Same process: bonus shrapnel dmg X goes up, the gape in the perfomance between Cage and Gas goes down.
Cage and Gas here will be as good when 13.5-29.4X=0 or X = 0.4592.
Cage and Gas are as good at bonus srapnel dmg equal 46% when crit rate is 100%, and when your bonus shrapnel dmg is bigger - Gas mask is better.

Now, there are three things here:
first, I really hope I didn't messed this up;
second, I really don't know what conclusion I should make here;
third, I really hate equations with three or more variables.
And I don't have any juice left to build up a formula for the "crit rate is not a fixed value" here.

I guess I'd like to say "for me the Gas Tight Mask seems to be better in the most realistic situations here, but no promises".
This math is freaknig me off.
ok, also the cage helmet is the best for scar and mp4? right?
beret scar
cage mp7
tl;dr : have parts? need triggers, have triggers? need parts
where did you get the top? cant find any blurprint
Now the question is: Which does the most dmg?
the one that hits most shrapnel parts
First 🎉
So what’s the highest dps weapon and armor combo for shrap now?
Based on this video
It really depends on your weapon choice:
LMG - Cage Helmet
SOCR - Barret
MP7 - Cage Helmet
Pistol - Barret for budget or Cage Helmet if you are using explosive shrap Mod
Blue AK - Barret for budget or Cage Helmet if you are using explosive shrap Mod
Gas-Tight can only really be useful on the Pistol or AK IF you want another multiplier for damage and not another damage proc. they almost amount to the same but matter when it comes to mod triggers.
@@thejesteramongfools it cant depend though. The nature of the question implies one answer which is what weapon and armor combo has the highest dps output.
@@Novarics it depends on your minmaxed mod stats, thats when gas tight becomes useful. otherwise beret will do more damage with dusty in DPS
@@Doomeris well yea, but my question was much more blanket like assuming you have everything min maxed what is the currently highest dps build for shrapnel in terms of armor + weapon combo? For example does the new lmg out dps socr when we compare their most min maxed builds?
@@Novarics i don't have good mods to test any of these weapons dps, but the new lmg has to have the highest dps
so mg4 better than scar
yipeee
whats the best helmet piece and mask mod for dusty?
Soo I need to find the beret😂
so gas mask is all time useless ? XD
Where to get beret on way of winter
cant
doomeris graduated at harvard
The video actually starting at the start and not 7-10 mins in? AND timestamps
Wtf did you do with the real doomeris?
ok so gas helmet is good for what weapon ?
only dusty and thats only when you have minmaxed mods
so: gas tight is ass, don't buy it lol
it depends on your mods, thats the only time when you use it
Dude you don't telling anything about the results, a.k.a "WHICH ONE IS BEST?", literally from your title. You know nobody cares how many hits or parts the combos do, all we care about is dps, which you don't even touch in your "FULL IN-DEPTH GUIDE". Going a bit more critical, you don't really do the "SHRAPNEL BERET VS CAGE VS GAS TIGHT HELMETS" part either, making the whole video not related to the title. It wasn't helpful at all, i didn't get the answers the title promised. Clickbaiting on purpose?
