This ballet was first performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in March 1975. The Quartet performing is the Alberni String Quartet. Howard Davis and Peter Pople violins , Berian Evans viola and Gregory Baron 'cello.
Interesting interpretartion. Personally I always see the Dowell role as the composer or maybe chroeographer who is hearing the music in his head and imagining the other characters dancing it. To me they all fit the flow of the music so well that if I just listen to the music I can see the steps.
