This video was originally meant to be uploaded before the Mario Kart 7 videos. But I did 2 recordings the same week MK 7 was out and each one had separate issues.
The first AVI raw recording is 10 GB and if you don't know AVI dislikes playing files greater than 4GB. Apparently you can use AVI 2.0 recordings via Virtualdub screen capture but I haven't found a way to keep it fully synched with the sound.
The second AVI raw recording was split into 4 (after 8 races) and combine them into 1 MP4 video, it works but I forgot to sort out the sound recording which means the 1 hour video had no sound whatsoever.
So basically this is my third AVI raw recording and the first time playing through Mario Kart DS 2 weeks after playing Mario Kart 7. Boy the mechanics do feel a lot different, the drifting mechanics especially, I screwed up Rainbow Road (2nd Race) so easily but I still managed to get first place. The rest of the races (3 to 32) were much better.
So here is some questions for those who don't know:
What is All Cup Tour?
All Cup Tour was originally a cup exclusive to Mario Kart Double Dash where you clear all of the courses in a single sitting. This cup hasn't returned since but there is a way to play this by sorting out the options on VS Mode. To make it feel like Double Dash's All Cup Tour I set the number of courses to 32 with random choices (the same track never gets played twice).
Mario Kart Wii also has a way of doing an All Cup Tour similar to DS that SDA even has a published run on the site:

Sadly you CANNOT do this in Mario Kart 7 because solo VS mode does not exist... which is just dumb. To make things more bizarre during Grand Prix there isn't an In-game timer. The touch screen map is missing a few features seen on Mario Kart DS including:
Item Boxes, Bullet Bills (Airship Fortress) Coloured arrows when racing against a ghost (Time Trial), and you can change the touch screen map not only by touching the screen but also by pressing Y which you can't do in MK 7.

That item box is unique. Regardless of position you always have either:
* Red Shell
* Mushroom
* Triple Mushroom
* Star
Blue shell. Happened to me.... but I thought it would go for last place
ever since I lost my DS in 2016, this gives me seratonin cause I'd play this hours on end

I don't know what they were thinking when they removed VS mode from Mario Kart 7. It better be in 8 or so help me.

Snaking is an advance maneuver that requires decent execution, which is the complete opposite compared to camping as it requires patience, the 'effectiveness' varies on anti-camping techniques and the game design/mechanics.
Snaking isn't cheating.
It's an advance technique.

Ahh... good times.. I loved the mini turbo on nds since you got a full turbo almost instantly, which allowed you to constantly charge up a new one.

Yep this is exactly why I didnt like Mario Kart DS. I hate wiggling the d pad and I never even did it this much. Reminds me of jumping all the time to go faster in games or back dashing. Luckily Mario Kart 3ds isnt like that :) Nice video thanks.
That is legit, and it's a special item box that only appears on that stage. It also happens on Mario Kart 7's version of DK Pass.

you might be right about the Higher accel=longer MT duration. I've dodged the blue shell/ egg1, pultergust 4000, mushmellow, dry bomber, standard DB, standard YS, brute and hurricane. timing feels different for each vehicle I'd say

also I think the handling of your vehicle also matters because higher handling=higher miniturbo boost (in MKDS that is) I dodge blue shells all the time with the egg and play the same way as you do.

this game has a somewhat disturbing easter egg: take the game card out while the game is still running, and enjoy the terrifying noise.
and to add to the terror, it is the only game that i know of that plays this sound. if i try any other game, it wont play the sound (you got to imagine,this was 2005)

theres 1 downside to Waluigi Pinball on MK7: you can't see the balls coming! So to avoid them, I keep to the right

No tool assistance at all, it was recorded from a real physical DS system. Just practise and practise, 150cc is pretty much essential, 100cc is harder and only works on icy terrain iirc(DK Pass and Frappe Snowland).
Lol I always used to do this when I was in a long car ride. :D Too bad It's a pain to do it in MK7 because there's no Vs mode. :(

You mean: Higher Acceleration= 'longer' miniturbo boost duration?
You might be right on what you've said. Snaking friendly karts have a better success rate, When I have the time, I will test out if a non-snaking kart can dodge the blue shell via miniturbo hop.

@LemGambino You just need to mini-turbo and hop as soon as you let go. You lose the item you're holding, but it's worth it.
I got a new 3ds n I saw the other day in a store they still sell this sealed new mario kart ds, it is 200 mexican pesos (12 us dollars)
