if you notice them pull your bag aside at TSA you can request they switch out their gloves before going through it to avoid cross contamination, like just tell them you don't want your baby's stuff to get contaminated

Yes, I second this! I had to do this when they wanted to check my breastmilk and they were fine with changing gloves!

It's a shame that they don't understand that and don't automatically do it for every person. It takes literally 10 seconds to change gloves. It's seriously a shame that they behave like this in a post COVID world.

You can ask TSA to put on new gloves. We do that when we travel with our daughter. Most of the time the agent is happy to change, especially if they know it’s baby stuff.

I’m a germaphobe also and worry about TSA touching my stuff too and even in my checked bag. I pack everything in ziploc bags either by category or by outfit. I use 2 gallon ones for my clothes and 1 gallon for my kids. It’s so easy to take the bag to the bathroom to change your child and if they have a blow out you just put the dirty clothes in the ziploc bags. You can squeeze out all the air. You could put paci’s in one, toys in another, bottles in another one, etc. As long as TSA can see everything they usually do not open the bags. Instead of a changing pad I recently saw a hack of using puppy pads, or hospital bed pads. You can just bundle everything in it to throw away and you don’t have to worry about germs on your changing pad.
You can request they change gloves first before going through the bag- BUT THIS IS WHY I HAVE TSA PRECHECK!
They never rummage through my bags since doing tsa precheck. Game changer

@@dellavlogs2 that’s so surprising! I brought a cooler full of bags of milk and they didn’t even open it to look inside in tsa precheck. I thought they would test it or at the very least open it but they didn’t even touch any of my bags. I’m so sorry that happened to you though!

The TSA guy was just doing his job. There is Global Entry if expedited clearance is the goal. Otherwise, if you travel, kid or not, you’re accepting the possibility of being subjected to a secondary inspection. Even if you’re a mom, even if you’re special, even if you’re an influencer, etc…

Very helpful video, thank you! I love seeing how different parents respond to germs lol. I thought I would be the germaphobe, but nope. My kid usually ends up crawling around on the floor, then sooner or later his hands are in one of our mouths, and I’m like oh well ooops, building immunity lol 😂 He hasn’t been sick yet, so guess it’s working, but still keeping those unopened Clorox wipes in my bag for good luck I guess 🙈

Can you get gallon size bags that are clear to put the pacifiers and bottles n it? Some of her books may fit in the gallon size bags as well. Then they would not be touched. TSA would still be able to see what you have in the bags, and they will not open it.

Don’t use the hot water in the plane. They never clean the water hose the hot water comes out of. So no coffee or tea on planes!
not to be mean, but you can’t share your water bottles, strays or cutlery with your children because you have bacteria in your mouth and it’s not sanitary for the baby. I’m a doctor and my son’s pediatrician advised that too!
You are not her doctor or her daughters pediatrician, so who are you to tell her what she can’t do when it comes to her daughter? Get over it.

You could asks the people who look thru your bags to change gloves before they look through your baby’s things. Or all of your items. They work with the public. I would think they should meet your request. Speak up

Bella tell them to change their gloves first! You have that right & they will oblige bc they actually have to do it if you request it. You can ask this in a politely manner, we never had to be rude about it. I’d just say “Please excuse my OCD but would you mind to change into clean gloves before going thru my baby’s things”?

You should be able to use sandwich bags or freezer bags both clear see thru and put binkies in them...baby toys etc and should not have to have germy gloves or hands on baby items. Saw you didnt include but pack small little books for reading to her and can even get plastic little books that can be wipe down for kiddies to chew on.😊
I feel like it shouldn’t be allowed for them to go through your diaper bag or any of your bags with stuff for your baby. It just gets every thing so dirty even if they change out their gloves it still would be best for them to not mess with it. I guess they don’t realize how hard it is to have to clean everything after someone touches something.

A paci clip is your best friend if you have a baby who likes to throw paci's or let's them fall out of their mouth.
That is ridiculous that they go through the diaper bag like that with dirty gloves!! Grrr. Should be policy to put on a clean new pair when doing so.
