Just picked up a 2016 Street Bob, love it so far!
I don't mind Harleys too much, as long as you're riding, you're cool. What I don't like are the people who put exhausts on bikes that makes them sound like they're going to blow up. Also, not all, but at least half of Harley riders don't wave to other bikers on the road. It's not the bike, it's the fact that some of the riders that Harley attracts are obnoxious people who are full of themselves.
Several years ago I was sitting at a small town ice cream stand eating a cone. When this Harley pulls up to the traffic light about 30 ft away. It was so loud I was unable to finish my conversation with the people next to me, I had to wait for the light change to green and the bike to leave to continue talking with them. Some engine noise is nice, but some are just ridiculous.
Is it a law to wave at strangers? lol
As a Harley man myself, I wave to everyone. Harley riders are the least likely to wave back - but get this! I wave at everyone and people just ignore my wave, too.
And I thought they were just like this here..
I think that waving in a bike will make people behind you that you are turning. I just bow, but waving I don't see it a good idea
I rode my first cruiser the other day. It was a brand new 2018 Harley Davidson Softail Slim and it was awesome. They are magical. Out of all the different sport bikes and naked sport bikes I’ve ridden the passed couple of years, none of them felt like that Harley. I can’t wait to ride more and next year I’m definitely making the switch from sport bike to Harley Davidson.
WoodyOn2Wheels a lawn tractor won't feel like any of the other motorcycles you ridden before that doesn't mean it's good.
mech5 fab you ever rode one?
WoodyOn2Wheels yes, I've ridden 3 underpowered, overweight Harley Davidsons.
I rode a fourth that was a sixties something, that was much better but still not up to par.
I do own a classic Fonzie biker jacket, does that make me more credible.
The looks I got wearing that jacket with Alpinestar boots, Held racing gloves and full face Arai helmet.
mech5 fab what’s your point? You don’t like Harley’s? Good for you. I rode one and liked it. So what.
Different people ride for different reasons and like different things about bikes. Some people want super efficient power/weight-ratio, some people want lightweight, some want traveling comfort, some want a good looking bike that is great to cruise on and so on and so on. If you don't like Harleys, then don't ride them. I personally am not a fan of naked bikes but I don't go around youtube watching videos about them and commenting on how I don't like them.
dude all bikes rock ride to live live to ride !!
love it brother.....2 wheels and a long road
Well spoken my brother
Totally agree about the Harley thing, it's a lifestyle, not just a bike. I've never had one but I've been thinking about it. It's been a lot of years since I had a motorcycle, just started looking at them again recently, kids are up and gone it's my turn now.
Absolutely love my 2015 street bob! Then I did a stage 1 & now my wife will have to bury me with it cuz I’m never giving it up!
Whats your set up on it if i may ask. Im currently in the market for the same one and 2015.
I just picked up a 2016 street Bob!
Picked up a 2016 street bob . Love it.. Im glad you have your videos up so I can still see your test rides that you did. Stinks you closed your dealership. Would have made a great place to visit.
LOVE IT now that's a Street Bob (so nice) RIP Dyna!
I’m with you Sean, I like the bike your on. Quiet is nice. Loud V TWINS are not for everybody especially at my age. I gotta be honest, at this point I’d ride anything with 2 wheels. I’m saving my pennies and someday I will buy a motorcycle from you guys. I miss it so much it hurts!! Ha ha!!
The 103 is a dependable motor which is a refreshing change for HD.
I want my old bike back but that’s never gonna happen. I love Triumphs Sean, pre-1970 are my favorites. 66’ Bonny oh yeah!!
But I do love Harley Davidson bikes. I’d feel
UnAmerican not loving them.
I’m blabbing oops!! Sorry
Ride safe boy!!
EPK
Waveluth yep love quiet bikes just because it's a Harley doesn't mean it has to be loud because what most people that ride loud Harley's don't realize is 1 they look like idiots and 2 they piss everyone off including their mothers for loud pipes. I hate loud bikes it's not natural to ride something that is so fucking loud your cracking windows everywhere you go
@@Johnclark300 H-D loud & fast!!
I like the Dyna line, as long as it's the Evo engine. Never was big on the twin cam. I've had 3 Evo Sportsters (still ride a 96 1200) and 2 Evo FXRs. If I could find a good Dyna at a decent price from the Evo era I'd be overjoyed.
I love this channel...this dude makes you want to buy a bike from him
Ah, Harley. I went to a dealership to get a helmet for MSF. Wanted to be able to hear the instructor so got a Bell Scout Air. You can get anything you want there....as long as it's black. They had a bigger apparel section then showroom. The people were super nice.
Harley gets dogged on for selling clothes. It's gotta be good business. I admit that I wish Indian had more swag available. We get passionate about this shit and it's fun.
cembandit did you get your Tats, Pitbull and, Sow to complete your Harley-Davidson lifestyle?
mech5 fab i probably look more cafe racer then HD. No pitbull but I have a cat that's kinda an asshole.
@@cembanditx1 you could just say you have a cat, the rest of that sentence is just obvious 😉
I had a Super Glide Custom and it was fun. More sound than power but it was a nice ride. More than likely I'm going with Yamaha for my next bike.
try a gold wing........dont shoot me, just try it. They also make a bagger version now
Why I hate Harley ....spends 10 mins gushing 😒 ....your better than clickbait
chris vinicombe you’re*
You're better than grammatical errors😒
I refuse to edit it 😋
Jim the Adventurer your are..... ha!😘
You are...
love the stage2 103ci in my 2014 dyna fxdc (last of the superglide custom) best of both worlds after adding touring seat, saddlebags, luggage rack & sissybar, mini apes & floorboards... 574 rocket cams, v&h pipes + tuner & se heavy breather... That's love... last bike was gsx1400 but never goin back, nothin like a good HD folks
I like the low rumble. I don't like the loud pipes. It just seems juvenile to me. Besides, my preferred commute is largely residential, so loud pipes would be super annoying.
If I had the money and garage space for multiple bikes I would totally have a Harley. I like twisty roads a little too much to have one as my sole bike.
Thanks for the Scriptures every time I watch you, God bless you my brother. And thanks for all the bike test drives. And even through Im a Harley guy, I love everything on 2 wheels!! No matter the brand
I like drag pipes, pretty sure all that noise helps get folks attention . I believe on one occasion “noise” kept a fellow from pulling out in front of me. Cuz he definitely didn’t see me !
Sean inspired me to pursue a job at Harley, now I just bought my first Harley…. Thanks Sean! You’re the man, I rock my M1 Moto gloves every single ride!!! 💯💪🏽💯💪🏽
I like your videos. Plenty of good info. Thanks for the the scripture too.
Hay just want to say I love your videos and the fact that you put a little bit I scripture in it keep it up👍👍👍👍
Harley sells the bike extremely lean for the EPA. Best to put a air cleaner & pipes for it to breath better & run cooler & don’t forget to have the fuel map adjusted. Adds a easy 10 hp & tq .
I keep my old shovelhead, never lets me down
I support the Dyna. I had a 2015 street bob that got totaled by a lady blowing a stop sign. Then went back and bought my 2016 while I was still in my cast because I loved my bike. I’ve ridden the new street bob and fat bob and wouldn’t trade my bike for either
HaHa Too Slow that sucks brother
I prefer loud pipes and forward controls. I have a 2008 fatboy and the forwards are for comfort and the loud pipes is so people know I'm there. My pipes arnt so loud they ring your ears but they are loud enough to grab someone's attention. A guy started to switch lanes into me so I revved and got his attention. Alot of people hate it but it's for safety in my case.
They are all different. That's why I need a Harley, a Beemer and a Honda in my stable.
What setup do you use for your vloging? its anyways so clear with great sound.
I love Harley Davidsons, but ONLY carbureted ones. EVOs and Sportsters. No VRods or Streets. I no longer ride anything else other than dirt bikes. No other motorcycle has the character of an H-D. I love the vibration and that beautiful exhaust sound, especially with an aftermarket exhaust. I find ALL Japanese bikes boring, and unfortunately H-D seems to be going that way as well. EFI and counterbalancers don't sit well with me. I like primitive with a few rough edges.
Gerald Scott well most people don't want to work on their bike all the time. lol
I have a 1997 Superglide and a 2006 Sportster 1200. Both are carbureted. Both shake a lot, both sound wonderful with aftermarket exhaust systems. The Superglide is comfortable enough for all day rides, the Sportster is great on curvy mountain roads. Both were bought used. Neither have ever broken down. There is a difference in having to do major repairs on your bike all the time, and tinkering. Tinkering is fun, at least for me. I have had no problems with the carburetors. I have rejetted them both to compensate for the aftermarket exhausts, and then a little bit more to compensate for the lean EPA jetting. You constantly hear about how hot newer Harleys run. Mine do not run hot. On an 80 degree, they both run around 190 degrees oil temperature. The reason new Harleys run hot is because they are way too lean. People are actually putting cooling fans on the cylinders and Harley has come up with a system that shuts down the rear cylinder above a certain temperature. This is totally crazy. Just richen the air/fuel mixture and the problem will go away. On an EFI bike that is easier said than done, it is not cheap, but with a $500 electronic black box, you can program the EFI any way you want it. You can even set it too rich.
But the fact is, electronic technology has created more problems than it has solved. Well, it and the EPA.
Gerald Scott I rode my friend's dyna wide glide and I agree. It's a vulgar, powerful, brutal motorcycle. My friend who rode on the back said he couldn't feel his crotch after a short ride, it vibrated so much. But it was a fun ride. My BMW is smoother and more refined, but I did like the vulgar power of the dwg.
I certainly don't see anything vulgar about it. It is primitive and unrefined. To me that's what I want a motorcycle to be. Japanese bikes have been seriously over refined for a very long time. They are smooth and quiet. You might as well be sitting in your La-Z- Boy at home. Riding a motorcycle should be a very visceral experience. Even H-D is trying to do that these days. The new M8 engine is the smoothest, quietest engine H-D has ever made.
Ride what you like, what gives you pride of ownership. All bikes have pluses and minuses, there are no perfect machines out there. It’s the ride not what you’re riding.
If you wanna change your riding, change your bikes ergonomics. It's weird how much handlebars can change how you ride. If your ergos are more to the forward, you wanna ride faster and you wanna accelerate. If your ergos are more upright, you enjoy more cruising and coasting.
It's simple. Try leaning forward when you walk and don't start running. You will fall.
Shovelhead engines have a total loss oiling system for the primary chain fed from the engine oil...
Only for the chain. The rest of my seals leak anyway.
Ryan Paaz maybe you need new seals...
forrest crabbe it needs new almost everything.
Ryan Paaz I been there too my friend...
Not true.
That stopped in the 1950s with the panheads.
I think that there is too much empasis on going fast. Harleys are designed to make torque first and HP last. If their not fast enough for ya, cool. Don't buy one.
I bought a brand new 2017 Low Rider. (3rd Harley)My local dealer said the only bikes that they don't sell is like the Streets. 500 and 750 simply do not sell.
Loved the Dyna! I had a 2010 super glide custom!
And the street 500/750 are perfect first bikes!
I rode a street bob 96 home for my buddy who bought one at a dealership and didn’t yet have his license and couldn’t ride on interstate. It was a little over an hour ride and the most uncomfortable of my life. I’m 6’4” and was completely cramped with the mid controls and bar placement. It’s nothing against Harley at all I actually want one as my second cruiser for longer rides with the wife, but I hated that street bob compared to my 09 Raider for my body type it’s just awful feeling.
Only been riding for a little over a month. I have a 2015 Dyna Street Bob and I honestly don't ever want to drive my car again. I named her Pfeiffer.
I know I don't like those handle bars.or the tank mounted gauges.I have a 1999 Sportster S,The Dyna is the only other Harley i would have considered If i don't have an S or R on it no thanks.
Hey man, I’m sure you might have covered it but can you share what video comm set up you use for your vids? Your vids rock. Thumbs up!
How does the 103 compare to the 114? What would you suggest at present day?
rambling today , I have both twin cam & M8 both good engines
That makes a lot of sense. How can a bike manufacturer make brand new bikes when everyone tries to buy that brand used? Made too well? Last too long? Ran out of riders.
Watch closely at the Harley simps flood the comments. Glorious
I had a 2015 Street Bob. Had to give it up because of a personal situation. I plan on getting another one around that year. Can't stand the Softtail Street Bob.
The parts and maintenance. Of those Harley Davidson is insanely expensive in most cases especially the newer ones. Sometimes the newer ones ,,, because now you need all kinds of expensive specialty tools to do everything on them so a lot more people are taking them to dealerships to even get an service which I hear can be 600$ or more
HD screwed up stopping the Dynas. Especially during the height of Sons Of Anarchy, with how popular that dumb show is and most of the bikes on it are Dynas.
From street bob to HD street. 😂 Omg and Harley tattoo at all let alone before owning one😂
Well I'm 41 and my whole whenever I saw a bike broke down on the highway it was a Harley. For years they had so many problems. They had to hire Japanese technicians to help them figure out what was wrong with their bikes because 1 out of 3 on the assembly line wouldn't start. And for all those guys that put their engines at a dead idle it always made them leak oil. Now in their defense their bikes today are a lot better. They make a good product today but in the past people only bought them because they were American made and they didn't want a "Jap bike or rice burner" but the simple fact was they were making better bikes. And yes I know it's sacrilegious for me to say so.
What's a Dino glide?
Rode a Harley for the first time recently. I have a Dyna now.
Street bob?
Such a wholesome channel
Great videos! Love the channel bro...
I was mad when they discontinued them, but I also bought a new one. I do have a lot of Friends that are mad at Harley and the direction they are going in, but those friends never buy new bikes from the dealership, they only buy used bikes. Harley needs to sell what people who buy new bikes want.
Love the sound of the brakes on the FXDB.. sounds like crickets singing...
Lucifer is my favorite show :D
SUBSCRIBED! I really enjoy your reviews, you're likeable, you know what you're talking about, and you review a wide variety of bikes which is also really cool. I wish my channel had access to that many bikes, but instead it's just me building one...
i gotta 2003 dyna superglide but ride anything!!
You really can't drive a Harley Davidson. But I so know you could ride one 👍
Is this dyna a good first bike?
There are only2 kinds of motorcycle riders, Harley owners and people who wish they had a Harley!
You forgot another kind, the kind that wants to ride for the love of riding. Not for the show and look at me, I am a bad ass, and I can afford a too expensive bike. I ride a Triumph thunderbird Storm. If you want to be proud of your ride for a good reason, try one. You will realise that muffler sounds don't mean shit . Hd is all talk, no action.
i've been trying to sell my 05 dyna super glide custom EFI for the past half a year and no one is buying, and i have it marked below blue book value. only 16k miles, and its clean. I definitely see why they stopped making them.
All ive ever rode was harleys and I don't hang around most harley clicks... At least around where I live they all want to act like they are an MC gangster... Crazy... I bought a bike and a Harley because I love the bike and history. Makes me sick the people who own a harley because they want to look like Sons of Anarchy... So I ride as of now a 2020 street bob and I ride solo because of the attitudes people want to carry around here because oh they own a Harley.
They build what sells. End of story.
Bingo. A concept lost on most people.
Bill DeLoach most succinct explanation ever for the reality of HD
Bill DeLoach fortunately Japan builds what everyone else actually wants, for less, with more than double the quality and half the price.
That may be so. But notice that Harley leads and the competition follows. Examples: Honda VTX, Kawasaki Vulcan, Yamaha Venture. The Japanese want a piece of Harley's market share. With the exception of the Goldwing and BMW 1600 Touring models, they want to sell what Harley sells. Personally I want a '18 Goldwing and a '18 Yamaha Venture TC, and a BMW 1600 in my stable but with my finances that's out of the question. So for the time being I'm happy with my '17 HD M8 Ultralimited. By the way, I have no problem with Japanese bikes - I owned five Hondas over the years one of them being an '08 Goldwing.
You ever wonder how many people see you daily on the same route and say there's shawn on a motorcycle.
My first bike was a 07 street bob with forward controls
how tall you are? because I'm 5'8" and I wonder if I'm not too small.......
@@Voltomess 6 foot 3
I love stock pipes as well. Cops can't hear it. New rider's should never use stock pipes but as time goes should switch after they notice a legal problem.
I hate the commercial you throw in every episode now.
He is running a business
Yeah he does it just to annoy you specifically!!
People in business have commercials???? A small price to pay for the amazing amount of info on the bikes. If it helps these guys make money I’m all for it. I even watch all the ads to the end so they get more credit. I can’t afford to send money to them so that’s how I help. Great bunch of guys.
Don't like it,? Skip it and watch the rest
I don't mind it, but he needs to make a better transition to it instead of just slapping it right in your face.
I down vote and ad block every vid he makes. He's full of shit and fulfills the religious stereotype perfectly.
The specific tools are expensive to buy and so are the parts insane. Unless somehow you can buy oem stuff from somewhere other than a Harley dealership?!!!!!!!
How many motorcycle companies in the US are still in business after over 100 years? Harley's are as American as apple pie and baseball.
People just keep their Harley and keep fixing them and eventually rack up the miles bc when they go to try and sell them most want way more money than people will spend on a used bike when they can buy brand new of other brand for way cheaper and cheaper to maintain and etc
what mic do you use in your helmet?
Funny enough I’ve got a Harley brand drip pan for an AMF era bike a baking sheet would hold more oil than that thing
Clickbait again Sean? Lol. Ya I just subscribed..... Agreed, the 103 is a nice motor. I feel it's underpowered and yes the M8 is a big improvement as are the post AMF era Harleys, I had the same misconception about HD back in the day, then I educated myself on HD and bought a 09 Night Train, no issues with it, Nada, zip, zilch lol. Great vid as usual, u should get the Dyna tattoo lol. Ride safe.
I have a 2003 Honda VTX1800c with a chinspoiler that picks up plenty of Hardly parts along the way 👍
I don’t love the dyna, this is between two good things, sportsers and softails.
They didn't create the culture but usurped it from the people who did create it. I was one of the idiots who would rather push their Harley than ride a rice burner. And I did push it (a 1974 sporty). Once I pushed it 4 miles through the city up and down hills because; wait for it... It broke down on me. I push started it for probably over a year because nobody could figure out why the electric start wouldn't work. (a bad insulator on the starter positive post) I couldn't sell it except back to my brother whom I bought it from. But hey I didn't want to sell it. I really enjoyed that bike. Eventually I did sell it back to him and he sold it to his son. Brother and 3 sons all ride Harleys. Sounds like that hardcore culture. The thing that ticks me off is while I was pushing the old bike and dumping my paychecks into it They created the block head. It was supposedly reliable and I remember them claiming 100,000 miles, whatever. But the snag was they priced it way high and aimed their marketing at professionals. That's when doctors and lawyers thought it would be cool to be a badass biker on the weekend. So that kind of strokes me but whatever. If I'm ever fortunate enough to get another bike (it may be a trike as my back is all messed up) I like the Indian scout, Honda vtx 1300 , or a used affordable goldwing. One day I visited the Japanese shops and the HD shop. I felt like Harley and Honda really had nice fit and finish. The Indian shop is about 80 miles away so yeah what was I talking about? I forget where I was going with this but you get my point right? Oh, really enjoy your test rides and bikes and beards. Keep up the great work. Bible verses are a really cool idea. Good opportunity to spread the good word.
I bot a new Wideglide, smooth ride but it sounded like a souped-up sewing machine, I did a stage 1 and with a free flowing airbox, new ecm to put in more gad and V&H short-shots, she sounds like a Harley, deep and throaty.
The problem with Harleys are the trucks and trailers required to haul them to the shop.
Now thats funny man👍
SRK, can you IMAGINE how cool it would be if Harley made an "Auto" trans for this particular model????
So "AMF" the Bowling Company, AMF stands for "Always Means Fun"
I’m sure your wrong. The dyna was a club riders favourite. Then SOA came out and everyone wanted a DYNA
I own a street Bob DYNA and a DYNA Lowrider s. If they carried making the dyna I’d have bought new but they didn’t.
So I don’t. I’ll just keep the dyna. I see the dyna has everything Harley should be. It does everything good it’s fast it stops well and Handles superb. I don’t like overweight boxes bags and fairings. Don’t want radio’s and car seats foot boards and giant screens.
I have tried the newer Harleys my local Harley dealer blackmailed into riding. not for me. Doesn’t shake or vibrate , it’s not Harley enough. But hey never say never. But I honestly think I’ll die owning a dyna. I can’t you how many I know say I wouldn’t a Harley. But they’ve have mine. And that’s how I feel.
Where did you mention you hated Harley?
Well said!
But I love the devil!!
Many bikes I have owned including a old 1950's panhead years ago, and just hoping one day they (Harley, or any other American cycle company) would create a new bike that I was moved and impressed by. Yes, their old shovel heads had many oil leaks vibration issues, Evo was a good move upward...but then, I understand you aren't a motorcycle mechanic, but if you look at some of the Cam tensioner designs on early, about 2000 until 2007 and the require maintenance, Harley prices and typical Harley (some of the sour or bad attitudes and the brotherhood culture that you see at the dealership) service costs you will see one reason many dislike or learned to dislike Harley overall. I do like that they finally upped their game, Lighter weight materials, some improvements in the engine design department, but still waiting for the redesign of the primary drive and clutch pack and over all ascetics of the left side of the motorcycles, until then I keep eyeballing the late model Indian Chief, but its still a hard sell to replace my Yamaha Stratoliner (which looks great on the right side and like a work of art on the left side of the bike, and its paid for and has so little miles on it... but when Harley attempted to patent a particular "sound" and stimey competition with tariffs. I decided I wanted off that train for a while, feeling Harley wasn't interested in improvement anytime soon, only to keep the Marketing up in high fashion. They are come along, not because they wanted to, now we will see a real horse race with two major American Motorcycle companies. I personally hope they both thrive.
Hey man, what did the devil ever do to you? Not cool.
Like any Big Dog on the block HARLEY DAVIDSON don't leak oil... They mark their territory......
I hate how every time he checks to make sure he is in first or neutral that you can hear clunk clunk clunk. it is so loud.
Yeah but think about the enormous time and money spent ,, in most cases,, to get those bikes to 100,000 miles
Oof, with that thumbnail i expect some Harley fanboys coming to dislike the video
When I think of Harley Davidson I think of lawyers, doctors, and mid to uper management trailering bikes to within 20 miles of a rally unloading and riding triumphantly into town like they just did 300 miles.
Your riding with the wrong people
josh g people like that would never ride with me. I put miles under wheel when I go out. My favorite thing to do is ride until I'm lost.
Kenneth Hildebrand i think you were missing my point. Maybe its a regional thing but in Florida most harley riders are oldtimers that have been riding for awhile. But if a doctor or lawyer wants to support and american Company i say more power to them.
josh g you are correct, but I was commenting on the attitude of some of these "bikers".
Kenneth Hildebrand i agree. If your gonna ride then do it right
Love your videos 👍
My only beef with Harleys and Indians is the lack of centerstands.
Is this bike for sale?
How can i buy yo l one of your bikes
Ride 2018 Fat Boy, and you"ll love Harleys! ;)
Toni O'Tonev I want one so bad.
I wish they would use that same style on a smaller engine. Maybe offer a 107 version of it. Love that apocolyptic look.
or the 2018 Fat Bob ;)
Brett Hopkins there is a 107 for the Fatboy :)
@@bretthopkins1475 Why would you want a smaller motor on the Fat Boy? It's a heavy bike
I currently own 3. 2 are Dynas
People get carried away with the noise. A little sound is ok but these guys with the straight pipes are just plain rude.
Why are you surprised about having 100k miles on a big motorcycle engine? My damn 250cc monocylinder scooter have 160.000 km ~ 100.000 miles, and still works fine ;)
Bogdan Paun Harleys have problems staying cool because they are big and air cooled. Hot engines don't last as long. Also, engines with long stroke and short rods wear out cylinders, rings, pistons faster because of more side load on the piston.
I'm looking at an 09 street Bob dyna
